Northern Alberta Xtreme (8) vs STAR Hockey Academy (2) U15
NAX resumed their winning ways Sunday morning with an offensive showing over STAR. Kaysun Brunham (2G, 1A) opened the scoring just 1:28 in, off of a sweet feed from Easton Doran (2A) while Kalen Miles (1G, 1A) doubled that lead later in the frame. Kyle Denis (2G) would add two tallies of his own, one being the game winner as STAR would pot two of their own later in the match.听
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Edge School Gold (7) U17 Prep
Edge Gold managed to jumpstart this match with a staggering four unanswered goals in the first period. Reed Reschny (1G, 1A) got the ball rolling on the powerplay, while David Byrne (2G) provided two goals from the backend. Rachlan Hay would put Pilot Mound on the board before the end of the frame. Pilot Mound would have a powerplay opportunity early on in the second, but would succumb to a shorthanded marker from Kesler Morrow (3G, 1A). PMHA would outshoot Edge Gold 16-15 in the second, rewarded for their efforts with a Benson Hirst (1G, 1A) goal. However, momentum would fall back into the hands of Edge Gold in the third, where Morrow would wrap up his hat-trick en route to a 7-3 win to close out the weekend in the Lower Mainland.
Delta Hockey Academy Black (1) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4) Female U18 Prep
After nearly two scoreless periods, Anya Porter (2G) put away a snipe off of the faceoff dot to give Shawnigan Lake the initial lead over Delta Black. Porter would add another in the third, roofing a backhand after making her way down low from the blueline. Shawnigan would add another two tallies in the third. Alexandra Nelson (15/16) came one save shy of the shutout, but still picked up her sixth win of the campaign.
Notre Dame (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U15 Prep
A savoury performance from Jessy Cormier (54/57) kept things close for Notre Dame, stopping 54-shots on the 57 that he faced. Tate Barnaby (19/20) on the other hand made a comfortable 19-saves in the win for RHA Winnipeg while Anthony Bedard (1G, 1A) and Drayden Uhrina (2A) made way with their offensive talents. Luke White would score Notre Dame鈥檚 lone goal.
Prairie Hockey Academy (5/OT) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep
It came down to the wire at Black Jack Stewart Arena on Sunday with a late burst from PHA to force an overtime. Pilot Mound had at most a 2-goal lead in the third period. Soren Hayden would deflect home Aaron Kowalyk鈥檚 shot to bring things within one. Then with only 14-seconds left, Ramsey Thompson (2G) fired home the game-tying goal from the slot. In overtime, it was none other than Thompson again, wiring home his second off of an abbreviated 2-on-1 down low, clinching PHA their first win of the calendar year.
Edge School Maroon (7) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U17 Prep
Keegan de Sa (3G) added another memorable performance to his weekend, capturing his second hat-trick of the showcase, bringing him up to 12-points in his last four outings. de Sa鈥檚 performance was supported by Nick Wytrychowski (4A) who supplied four helpers across the match. Regina Pats prospect Carter Haney (2G) potted two for RHA Winnipeg while River Arnason (2A) chipped in with two primary assists in the loss.
Indigenous Sports Academy (1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
SAHA carried momentum throughout the contest, scoring five unanswered through the first two periods before Kallum Windigo broke that stretch. Ty Wasyluk鈥檚 shorthanded goal would go on to be the game winner, while Steven Wawryk (24/25) steered away 24-shots to secure the victory.听
North Shore Warriors (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) U15
RHA Kelowna鈥檚 ability to score in bunches was the difference maker in this contest over NSW. RHA Kelowna opened the scoring with three goals in only a span of 2:29, capped off by 2011-born forward Berkeley Reid. However, the other 2011-born forward in this match, Kenzo Gibson (3G, 1A) fired back with vengeance, chipping in on Ethan Mah鈥檚 (1G, 1A) late first period goal, then stamping in a hat-trick of his own throughout the rest of the game. In the end, RHA Kelowna would match NSW鈥檚 response, punching in another four goals throughout the rest of the match, with Alexander Sharman (1G, 2A) putting the cherry on top with a powerplay tally right at the end of the third.
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy Navy (4) vs Prairie Hockey Academy Blue (6) U17 Prep
PHA Blue had the early jump on CDA Navy Sunday morning. However, that didn鈥檛 slow down Shawn Haynes (3G) who fought tooth and nail to keep his academy鈥檚 hopes alive for their first win of the season, potting a hat-trick with a shorthanded goal in the process. Haynes supplied two of his three in the third period, enough to tie the game if it weren鈥檛 for the two goal effort from Riedar Armstrong (2G), putting things out of reach for CDA Navy after his shorthanded marker and empty net sealer.听
Delta Hockey Academy Green (8) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U15 Prep
RHA Kelowna kept it close with Delta Green for the greater half of the game. It wasn鈥檛 until late in the third where the score began to take off. After tying things up thanks to the efforts of Dominik Silbernagle and Finn Howes (1G, 1A), Delta Green would strike for four unanswered in the final 10-minutes of the game. Jack Morgan (2G) scored the ultimate game winner while Cortland LeMieux (1G, 1A), Wyatt Callandar (1G, 2A) and Caden Leibel supplied the insurance markers as the match came to close.听听
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (6) vs BWC Academy (1) U15
Dominic Allegretto scored BWC Academy鈥檚 lone goal on the powerplay with a snipe from the circle. However, Wenatchee was unable to be contained. Anderson Carter (1G, 1A) scored the eventual game winner while Akira Ota (1G, 1A) supplied the insurance marker. Sam Trnecka (31/32) steered 32-shots aside for the win while Mya Young (35/41) stopped 35-shots in a valiant effort for BWC Academy.
Edge School (6) vs Notre Dame (1) U18 Prep
Number 3 on the backend, Maxim Shushkov (3G) doubled his season鈥檚 goal output after nabbing a hat-trick against Notre Dame on Sunday. The Airdrie native had three goals coming into tonight鈥檚 contest. Luke Vlooswyk (2A), Cruz Pavao (1G, 1A) and Landon DuPont (2A) also managed to post two-points each in the win.
Delta Hockey Academy Black (6/SO) vs Notre Dame (5) U17 Prep
Delta Black opened up this game with a four-goal lead early into the second period. Liam McLeod (4A) had registered three assists at this stage in the match. Ilyas Yarkov had jammed home a loose puck to snap Delta Black鈥檚 chain and get Notre Dame on the board. This would kickstart some flow to Notre Dame鈥檚 game, going on to outshoot Delta Black 17-5 in the frame and cutting their deficit down to two. Ryder Gilroy got things started just 41-seconds into the third for Notre Dame. Four minutes later, captain Liam McCloy (1G, 2A) would tie everything up at five. Overtime was played, but a shootout was needed to seek out the winner. Nicholas Campbell (1G, 1A) would roof a backhand to give Delta Black the early advantage and Lincoln Arkinstall would wait out Dane Gillis (34/39) to put away the shootout winner. Lucas Szulc (48/53) stoned both of his shooters in the process.听听听听听
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) Female U18 Prep
Alex Mills (64/71) faced over 70-shots in this affair with RHA Winnipeg, maintaining a 0.901 SV% in the process. Despite the lopsided shots, Pilot Mound actually escaped the first period with the lead thanks to Ashlyn Kuffler posting her fourth goal of the campaign. RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 offensive inevitably sneaked through as they would add seven goals in the final two frames. 2009-born forward, Rowyn Street (2G, 1A), led the pack with her two goal performance while Katie Anhalt (3A), Callie Paull (1G, 2A) and Kate Nechwediuk (1G, 2A) all produced three points efforts in the win.听
OHA Edmonton Black (8) vs Notre Dame Red (2) U17 Prep
OHA Edmonton Black posted a shooting gallery in their weekend finale. Brody Nest (2G) and Karson Kereliuk (2G, 2A) produced two a piece while Braydon Franks (4A) dished out four helpers. Gavyn Dion (1G, 2A) and Calum Giese (1G, 2A) also made a big impact on the scoresheet while Aiden Prosser (21/23) held down the fort in the 8-2 win.
Northern Alberta Xtreme White (5) vs Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Red (2) U17 Prep
A pair of late first period goals from Ben Deacon and Tafari Chingwaru (1G, 1A) gave NAX White the edge entering the second. RHA Kelowna Red鈥檚 Luke Silvernagle (2G) would show some pushback, collecting two goals for his academy to put them back in the game. Brady Whitehead had also scored a powerplay goal in that frame, putting NAX White ahead 3-2 before the end of the second. RHA Kelowna Red would muster another 9-shots on to Taylor Raynard (22/24), but couldn鈥檛 manage to put anything past the Edmonton native. Tristen Bailey would fire home the insurance marker for NAX White early in the frame, allowing them to turn on cruise control and close off their weekend with a victory.听
St. George’s School (3/OT) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U15
After a scoreless opening period Nathaniel Moore (1G, 1A) scored on the power play 5:19 into the second to give St. George鈥檚 a 1-0 lead. Joel Parker scored his 12th of the season midway through the second to tie the game. Zach Lam restored the St. George鈥檚 lead with 6:27 to play but an Adam Molinaro goal with 1:38 remaining tied the game and forced OT. In overtime Tarik Lammam (1G, 1A) scored his 14th goal of the season to give St. George鈥檚 a 3-2 win 3:20 into overtime. Carter Adams (44/46) outdueled Ethan Watson (31/34) in net for the win.听
Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Black (7) vs Prairie Hockey Academy White (3) U17 Prep
Julian Galenza (2G, 1A) scored the lone first period goal as RHA Kelowna Black led 1-0 after 20. Kale Pratte (1G, 1A) tied the game 3:07 into the second but Owen Downey (2G) struck twice, including 53 seconds later. Dylan Cawley extended the lead one minute later before Hudson Thiessen and Benjamin Bowtell traded goals to close out the period. The third period saw Galenza and Soren Brons-Douville score for RHA Kelowna Black while Mason Smith replied for PHA White in a 7-3 RHA Kelowna Black victory. Louis Gu (30/33) made 30 saves for the win.听
North Shore Warriors (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (13) Female U18 Prep
RHA Kelowna scored 5 times in the first听 including twice in the first 1:27 as they defeated North Shore 13-0. Sage Babey (2G), Kyly Laybolt (2G), Taya MacDonald (2G, 3A), and Kennedy Sisson (2G) all scored twice while Alida Korte (4A) recorded 4 assists. Every single RHA Kelowna skater recorded at least one point in the win. Amy McLeod (54/67) faced 67 shots in the loss.听
Edge School (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (6) U15
Edge grabbed a 1-0 lead 3:29 in on a goal from Chasen Robson but Yale led 2-1 after 20 thanks to goals from Michael Kuzik and Maxx Trites. Dylan Sherban scored the lone second period goal as the third period started tied 2-2. Ethan Manan scored the go-ahead goal 1:00 into the third as Yale scored four straight to start the period with Tanner Massey (2G, 1A) and Matteo Zenone (1G, 1A) adding tallies. Noah Ewert (1G, 1A) added a late consolation goal for Edge, scoring on the power play with 14 seconds left to play. Nevin Connor (35/38) made 35 saves to earn the win. Christopher Kokkories (4A) and Jaxen McFegan (3A) each had four and three assists respectively in the game.听
Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs Yale Hockey Academy (11) U15 Prep
Yale outshot Shawnigan 44-15 en route to an 11-0 win Sunday. Ryder Buick (5A) led all skaters with five points while Gavin Bradley (2G, 1A), Jacob Dumansky (2G, 2A) and Ollie Reid (2G, 1A) each scored twice. Cristiano Pelegrin-Hicks (15/15) made 15 saves for his first shutout of the season.听
Delta Hockey Academy Green (5) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme Blue (7) U17 Prep
Nathan Gray (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for Delta Green before Jake MacDonald (2G, 3A) responded 1:02 later with a power play goal. Max Malinousky restored the Delta Green lead 1:04 later but goals from Riley Thorpe (3G, 1A) and MacDonald 22 seconds apart gave NAX Blue a 3-2 lead after 20. Noah Hoglund tied the game 2:46 into the second before Liam Eisnor scored for NAX Blue on the power play and Thorpe completed the hat-trick with two goals in the final minute of the period. Nate Barclay (1G, 1A) and Nathaniel Danielson (1G, 1A) brought Delta Green within one late in the third but a Mats Lajoie (1G, 2A) goal with two minutes left to play secured an NAX Blue victory. Parker Snell (47/52) and Greyson Moroz (32/39) were in net for their respective teams.听
Notre Dame (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U15
A power play goal by Ethan Parsons 13:47 into the first gave PCHA a 1-0 lead after 20. Etienne Gagne-Delaunay (2G) tied the game 1:38 into the second with his sixth of the season before scoring the go-ahead goal 5:09 later. The PCHA power play would stay hot as Blake Sanderson capitalised on another opportunity with 5:42 left to play in the second. Shawn Hardwicke-Brown picked the perfect time to score his first goal of the season, scoring the eventual game winner for Notre Dame with 2:47 left in the second period. Both Aidan Dale (21/23) and Oliver Boniface (42/45) kept a clean sheet in the third, finalising a 3-2 Notre Dame win.听
OHA Edmonton vs Shawnigan Lake School U17 Prep
After a scoreless first Ronan Murphy scored his eighth of the season 11:50 into the second to give Shawnigan a 1-0 lead heading into the third. It looked as though Stefan Kostin (33/35) and Shawnigan were set to earn a 1-0 shutout victory until Gabriel Luis Neypes and Kaden Wilkins each scored in the final 1:45 to give OHA Edmonton a come from behind victory. Ethan Taylor (17/18) made 17 saves for his second win of the season.听
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Blue (5) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Jed Lake (2G, 1A) and Tristan Gravenor (1G, 2A) scored 11 seconds apart less than two minutes in as PCHA Blue raced out to a 2-0 advantage. Brendan Rudolph would get CIHA on the board 7:24 into the first before Madden Cruickshank countered with a power play goal 2:02 later. Rhett Sather (2G) and Calder Hutt scored late first period goals to tie the game heading into the first intermission. Kaden Hayes (1G, 1A) and Noah Milford scored the lone second period goals, giving CIHA their first lead of the game. Haydyn Brooks brought PCHA Blue within one with 49 seconds left but an empty net goal from Sather 6 seconds later restored the two goal deficit. Jed Lake scored his 19th goal of the season with 3 seconds left to play but it was too little, too late as CIHA held on for a 6-5 victory.听
OHA Edmonton (6) vs Delta Hockey Academy (2) U15
Brayden Tucker (1G, 1A) and Porter Boisvert scored 41 seconds apart as OHA Edmonton grabbed a 2-0 lead. Tryson Edwards and Nicholas Peach would quickly respond for Delta to even the game heading into the second. From there it was all OHA Edmonton as Joel Ngandu (2G, 2A) scored in the second and third, Cohenn Rotar scored his 16th of the season in the second, and Kaedyn Scherer (1G, 2A) added a third period tally in a 6-2 win. Taylor Green (34/36) made 34 saves to secure the win.听
St. George’s School (2) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
CDA earned their second win of the season thanks to a 37 save outing from Austin Neill (37/39). Verners Veinbergs (2G) opened the scoring for CDA 2:53 in but St. George鈥檚 led 2-1 after 20 as Noah Chen and Brenden Morgan scored less than two minutes apart. Veinbergs tied the game on the power play early in the second and Cam Soenen (1G, 1A) scored the eventual game winner midway through the period. Preston Peterson scored short handed 43 seconds into the third to add an insurance marker and Robby Berry put the game out of reach minutes later. Imaree Dhaliwal (32/37) faced 37 shots in the loss.听
North Shore Warriors Orange (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (5) U17 Prep
After 20 minutes of scoreless action Maxx Parfitt (2G) and Ben Fragle (1G, 2A) scored second period goals for OHA Black. Aneil Dhesi (1G, 2A) and Parfitt would score 46 seconds apart to start the third, giving their team a commanding 4-0 lead. Christopher Mah ended the Charlie Peppinck (16/17) shutout bid with 6:50 left to play, but Ethan Dimand countered 1:01 later to ensure a 5-1 OHA Black win.听
Fairmont Hockey (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
William Urtel scored the lone first period goal as guest team Fairmont looked to end the weekend with a win. Jayden Oleskiw (2G, 1A) tied the game with his 10th of the season early in the second but a Brixton Blum goal midway through the hockey game restored the Fairmont lead. Yale would mount a comeback with Oleskiw tying the game and Bodie Jerome scoring the go-ahead goal late in the period. Carson Lang (24/26) shutout Fairmont in the third to secure the Yale victory.听
Edge School (3) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep
Sade Sandilands (2G) scored a power play goal in the first and short handed goal in the second as Edge School held a 2-0 advantage heading into the third, Kamryn Reiber scored her 11th of the season to bring SAHA within one 3:11 into the third period. But a late Shannon Pearson power play goal and 16 save game from Megs Thiessen (16/17) secured a 3-1 Edge win. Tayler Cohen (15/18) made 15 saves in the loss.听
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy Gold (5) U17 Prep
BWC Academy Gold held a 1-0 lead after 20 thanks to a goal from Colton Gerrior (1G, 1A), his 20th of the season. Seth Flett tied the game briefly in the second before Jack Tudhope scored a short handed goal. Jonathan Bitonti and affiliate player Kyle Obobaifo scored in the first half of the third to extend the lead to three. David Aggen scored late for OHA but an empty net goal from Ben Climenhaga secured a 5-2 BWC Academy Gold win. Korbin Rodel (33/35) made 33 saves for the win.听
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy White (1) vs BWC Academy White (4) U17 Prep
Dominic Seminoff (2G, 1A) scored his 13th goal of the season as BWC Academy White led 1-0 after 20. Landen Mailhot scored a power play goal and Seminoff added his second of the night just 17 seconds later to increase the lead to 3-0. Nic Collins (1G, 2A) scored his 15th of the season to put the game well out of reach early in the third. Aleks Ostrovskyy spoiled the Josh Wu shutout bid with 2:58 remaining, scoring an unassisted goal. Ander Reyes (49/53) made 49 saves in the loss.听
North Shore Warriors (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (8) U18 Prep
Tommy Lafreniere (3G) recorded a hat-trick and Adam M鈥橦amed (1G, 2A) also had three points as Yale defeated North Shore 8-3. Levi Benson (1G, 1A), Evan Cook (1G, 1A), Tej Dhaliwal and defenseman Noah Marshall scored the other goals for Yale in the win. Owen Brennan, Matteo Paradiso and Liam Payne scored for North Shore in the loss.听
North Shore Warriors (2) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Anthony Ganoung (35/37) made 37 saves to give Wenatchee a 6-2 win over North Shore in the last game of the weekend. Braden Boman鈥檚 (2G, 2A) 10th of the season gave Wenatchee a first period lead and Nick Roy extended that lead 3:50 into the second. Lucas Lekakis scored late in the second on the power play to get North Shore on the board. Dominic Deery (2G, 1A) and Noah Friskie traded first period goals before Roy (2G, 1A), and Deery scored 20 seconds apart. Boman would add a late tally to push the score to 6-2.听
