CSSHL alum Connor Bedard has won the NHL Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie for the 2023/24 season.

Along with winning the Calder Memorial Trophy, Bedard was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team after leading all NHL rookies with 39 assists, 22 goals, and 61 points. He was named the NHL Rookie of the Month in November, December and March.

Bedard made CSSHL history when he was selected first overall at the 2023 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, making him the highest selected player in CSSHL history.

The North Vancouver, BC forward spent two season in the CSSHL with the West Van Academy (now North Shore Warriors). After putting up a CSSHL best 64 goals and 88 assists in 2018/19, he was named the CSSHL U15 Prep MVP.

In 2019/20, as an underage player, Bedard would lead the U18 Prep division with 43 goals and 84 points on his way to being named CSSHL U18 Prep MVP. Despite playing just two seasons in the CSSHL, his 110 career CSSHL regular season goals is second most in a career in CSSHL history.

Bedard would become the first player in WHL history to be granted Exceptional Status ahead of the 2020 WHL Draft. The Regina Pats would select him first overall. He would finish his WHL career with 134 goals and 137 assists in 134 WHL games over three seasons with the Pats.

Former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athlete Connor Bedard signed an NHL Entry Level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on July 17, 2023, his 18th birthday.

Selected first overall by the Blackhawks at the 2023 NHL Draft, Bedard played two seasons in the CSSHL with West Van Academy (now known as North Shore Warriors). During the 2018/19 U15 Prep season the North Vancouver, BC forward would lead all skaters with 64 goals and 88 points in 30 games while being named the CSSHL U15 Prep Division MVP. His 64 goals are still a single season CSSHL U15 Prep record.

Bedard would be granted exceptional status in 2019/20, allowing him to play in the U18 Prep division at just 14 years old. He would again lead the division in goals (43) and points (84), earning CSSHL U18 Prep Division MVP honours. Despite playing just two seasons and 68 games in the CSSHL, Bedard ranks second all time with 110 goals and 11th with 176 points.

At the conclusion of the season the Regina Pats would select Bedard first overall at the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft. After a brief stint in Sweden due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bedard would become the first player in WHL history to earn exceptional status, allowing him to join the league a year early, as a 15 year old. That season Bedard would tally 12 goals and 16 assists in 15 WHL games, all tops among WHL Rookies, earning him the WHL Rookie of the Year Award. Bedard would also represent Team Canada at the U18 World Championships, scoring 7 goals and 7 assists in 7 games as he was named to the All-Star team and a Top 3 Player on Canada, helping Canada capture gold.

During the 2020/21 season, as a 16 year old, Bedard would finish second among WHL skaters in goals (51) and fourth in points (100). His 51 goals were 24 more than next highest on his team, while his 100 points were 31 more than next closest. His 49 assists were also tops among Pats skaters as he earned WHL (East) First All-Star Team honours.

Bedard would captain Team Canada at the 2021 U18 World Championships, recording seven points in four games while again being named a Top 3 Player on Canada. He would also play for Canada at the 2022 U20 World Juniors, finishing with eight points in seven games as Canada captured gold.

This season Bedard would lead all WHL skaters with 71 goals (21 more than second), 72 assists and 143 points (36 more than second). His impressive WHL season would earn him the following awards:

Bedard would again represent Team Canada at the 2023 U20 World Junior, leading the team to a gold medal.

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athlete Jalen Luypen to a National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Level Contract.

Luypen spent two seasons in the CSSHL with Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA). The Kelowna, BC forward joined the program in 2016/17, leading the OHA U15 Prep team with 21 goals and 17 assists in 30 games. The following season he would once again record team highs in goals (18), assists (18) and points (36) in 36 U18 Prep games.

Following the 2016/17 campaign the Edmonton Oil Kings would select Luypen in the ninth round, 180th overall at the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft. Luypen would join the team in 2018/19, recording 124 points in 200 WHL games over the last four seasons, while adding 9 points in 19 playoff games this year as the Oil Kings captured a WHL Championship. Luypen would also tally a goal and two assists at this year鈥檚 Memorial Cup.

The Blackhawks drafted Luypen in the seventh round, 216th overall at the 2021 NHL Draft.

Colton Dach has signed a National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Level Contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, after being selected in the second round, 62nd overall at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Dach, who鈥檚 older brother Kirby plays for the Blackhawks, was recently traded to the Kelowna Rockets, after spending the last two seasons with the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Blades selected Dach sixth overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft and he would go on to record 49 points in 82 games for the team.

The Fort Saskatchewan, AB forward spent two seasons in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with OHA Edmonton, playing for their U15 Prep team in 2016/17 and 2017/18. He would record 20 points in 30 games his first year, before exploding offensively for 69 points in 30 games year two as OHA Edmonton would win a U15 Prep CSSHL League Championship.
