]]> Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Saige Weinstein has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Colorado Avalanche.

Weinstein went undrafted at the 2023 NHL Draft, but was signed by the Avalanche last week.

The Edmonton, AB defenseman spent the 2019/20 CSSHL U15 Prep season with NAX. In 23 games he tallied 4 goals and 16 assists, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 18th overall at the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

Weinstein is now in his third WHL season with the Chiefs. In 124 career games he has tallied 5 goals and 27 assists.
