Former OHA Edmonton student-athlete Koehn Ziemmer has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

Ziemmer spent the 2018/19 CSSHL U15 Prep season with OHA Edmonton. Ziemmer would finish second in league scoring with 76 points in 29 games, trailing only Connor Bedard. At the conclusion of the season the Prince George Cougars would select the Mayerthorpe, AB forward with the fourth overall pick at the 2019 WHL Draft.

In 178 WHL games with Prince George, Ziemmer has 89 goals and 97 assists. The Kings selected him in the third round, 78th overall at the 2023 NHL Draft.

Former Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) student-athlete Taylor Ward has signed a National Hockey League (NHL) contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

Ward originally joined OHA in 2011/12 with their U15 Prep team. He would spend that season, and the next, recording 143 points in 110 games. He would return to OHA鈥檚 U16 Prep team in 2013/14, now part of the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL). In 24 CSSHL games Ward would tally 12 goals and 20 assists, leading his team with 34 points. In 2014/15 Ward would win a CSSHL U18 Prep Championship with the OHA White team, finishing tied for lead in team scoring with 50 points in 28 games.

The Kelowna, BC forward would join the Penticton Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2015/16 where he would tally 9 points in 56 games. He would follow that up with a 23-point season as the Vees captured a BCHL Championship. He would return to the Vees in 2017/18, finishing with 44 points in 46 games.

In 2018/19 Ward suited up for the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he would produce 27 points in 35 games played. That season Ward was named to the NCAA (NCHC) All-Rookie Team and earned NCAA (NCHC) Rookie of the Year honours. In 2019/20 Ward would make the NCAA (NCHC) Honorable Mention All-Star Team with 22 points in 26 games. In 38 NCAA Division I games this season, Ward led his team in goals (19) and points (39).

Ward has since joined the Ontario Reign in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the remainder of the season, having recorded three assists in two games.

Ward is the son of former NHLer and current OHA staff member Dixon Ward.

Two Edge School alumni have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Riga, Latvia, starting at the end of the month.

Forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan and defensemen Jacob Bernard-Docker have been named to the 25-man roster for Team Canada.

Anderson-Dolan has represented Team Canada three times, wearing a letter for all three tournaments, and winning gold once. He spent three years at Edge, including one season in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) with their U18 Prep team. A first-round pick by Spokane Chiefs in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, Anderson-Dolan would spend five seasons with the Chiefs, playing 244 games and posting 236 points.

A second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings, Anderson-Dolan has played 43 NHL and 58 AHL games the last three years with the Kings organization.

Bernard-Docker, who is an injury replacement for Kevin Bahl, spent one season with Edge School in 2015/16, recording 14 points in 13 games with their U16 Prep team. He would make the jump to junior at 16, spending two seasons with the Okotoks Oilers. In 2017/18 he was named to the AJHL (South) All-Star Team, AJHL Most Outstanding Defenseman, CJHL Top Defenseman and played in the CJHL Top Prospects Game.

That summer he was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He would spend three seasons playing NCAA Division I hockey with the University of North Dakota, winning multiple individual and team awards. After his junior season this year, he signed an NHL entry level contract and made his debut with the Senators, playing in five games this year.

Bernard-Docker has represented Team Canada twice, winning gold at the 2017 World Junior A Challenge and the 2020 World Juniors.
