Sanderson will be one of 22 skaters and 3 goalies to represent Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Men鈥檚 hockey will run at the Olympics from February 3-20, 2022 and see 12 teams from around the world compete.

This will be Sanderson鈥檚 fourth time representing Team USA, having previously done so at the 2019 U17 Tournament, and 2021 and 2022 World Juniors. Sanderson won gold in 2021 and was captain of the 2022 World Juniors team before the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Whitefish, MT defenseman spent the 2017/18 season with the Edge School U16 Prep team, finishing second among all CSSHL defensemen with 43 points in 23 games.

Sanderson would spend the next two seasons with the US National U17 and U18 teams, captaining both teams each year. Following the conclusion of the 2019/20 season, the Ottawa Senators would draft Sanderson in the first round, fifth overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

In 2020/21 he joined NCAA Division I program University of North Dakota, and was named to the NCAA (NCHC) All-Rookie Team, and NCAA (NCHC) All-Tournament Team while winning an NCAA (NCHC) Championship and NCAA (NCHC) Regular Season Championship (Penrose Cup). This season Sanderson has 22 points in 17 NCAA games.

Two Edge School alumni have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Riga, Latvia, starting at the end of the month.

Forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan and defensemen Jacob Bernard-Docker have been named to the 25-man roster for Team Canada.

Anderson-Dolan has represented Team Canada three times, wearing a letter for all three tournaments, and winning gold once. He spent three years at Edge, including one season in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) with their U18 Prep team. A first-round pick by Spokane Chiefs in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, Anderson-Dolan would spend five seasons with the Chiefs, playing 244 games and posting 236 points.

A second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings, Anderson-Dolan has played 43 NHL and 58 AHL games the last three years with the Kings organization.

Bernard-Docker, who is an injury replacement for Kevin Bahl, spent one season with Edge School in 2015/16, recording 14 points in 13 games with their U16 Prep team. He would make the jump to junior at 16, spending two seasons with the Okotoks Oilers. In 2017/18 he was named to the AJHL (South) All-Star Team, AJHL Most Outstanding Defenseman, CJHL Top Defenseman and played in the CJHL Top Prospects Game.

That summer he was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He would spend three seasons playing NCAA Division I hockey with the University of North Dakota, winning multiple individual and team awards. After his junior season this year, he signed an NHL entry level contract and made his debut with the Senators, playing in five games this year.

Bernard-Docker has represented Team Canada twice, winning gold at the 2017 World Junior A Challenge and the 2020 World Juniors.
