The Abbotsford, BC netminder went 3-0-0 with 1 shutout, a 0.67GAA and .971SV% in three games during October. On the season he is 6-0-0 while leading the division with a 0.90GAA, .962SV% and 2 shutouts.

U15 Prep: Teagen Bouchard, Northern Alberta Xtreme

In 8 games the Fahler, AB forward scored 8 goals and added 12 assists for an October best 20 points. In 15 games this season Bouchard leads the U15 Prep division with 34 points, posting 14 goals and 20 assists.

U17: Maximilian Koppel, RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna

For the second straight month an RHA Kelowna forward has been named the POTM. In 11 games Koppel posted a division best 10 goals and 20 points, bringing the Regensburg, Germany forward’s season totals to 18 goals, 20 assists and a division best 38 points in 21 games.

U17 Prep: Les Toth, St. George’s School

In five games in October the White Rock, BC netminder went 5-0-0 with 2 shutouts, a 0.98GAA and .967SV% through 305 minutes of action. On the season Toth holds a 7-3-1 record with a 2.26GAA, .942SV% and 2 shutouts.

U18 Prep: Austin Polonoski, Pilot Mound Hockey Academy

In his second season with Pilot Mound, Polonoski recorded a division best 17 assists and 20 points in just 7 games in October. On the season the Thunder Bay, ON forward has 5 goals with division bests in assists (19) and points (24) in 10 games this season.

Female U18 Prep: Rowyn Street, RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg

The Winnipeg, MB forward tied for the division lead with 15 points in 7 games in October, scoring 7 goals and 8 assists. In her second season in the CSSHL with RHA Winnipeg, Street has 9 goals and 10 assists, placing her fifth in league scoring with 19 points.

Eastern U17: Antonio Lombardo, Lower Canada College

A defenseman from Montreal, QC, Lombardo led all defensemen with eight assists and nine points in four games in October. All four of his games this season took place in October, leading to him sitting first among defensemen in assists (8) and second in points (9).

Eastern U18: Ezekiel Lambert, Ulysse Academie听

Lambert finished second among all skaters in October with 10 points in 6 games while his 8 assists were tops in the division. The Saint-Gilles, QC product is currently tied among all defensemen for the division lead with 3 goals, 8 assists and 11 points in 8 games this season.

Antoine Poirier: The Blainville, QC defenseman finished the 2023/24 Eastern U18 Prep season with 1 goal and 8 assists in 23 games.

Clement Valette: Valette was named a 2023/24 CSSHL Eastern U18 Prep Second Team All-Star in his lone CSSHL season. The Montreal, QC forward finished sixth in league scoring with 36 points in 23 games. His 22 assists and 36 points were all a Ulysse team high.

Ulysse Acad茅mie’s Commitment to Excellence

Ulysse Acad茅mie offers a multi-sport program for girls and boys with hockey as a major sport. Our philosophy is consistent with studies on the detrimental effects of over-specialization and the beneficial effects of developing a varied sports literacy in young people. At the elementary level, our Ulysses students play hockey and are introduced to several other sports. Our high school student-athletes train and compete in hockey (RSEQ et CSSHL), lacrosse, rowing, and mountain biking. Moreover, they do all this without missing school, while being subject to an academic success protocol and achieving numerous behavioural standards. Our post-secondary students focus primarily on hockey (CSSHL and other competitions) and the next steps in their development as students and athletes.

听EDUCATION

Our elementary student-athletes attend their local school and our high school students attend the Odyss茅e High School in Terrebonne (Quebec). Post-secondary student-athletes are enrolled in our Grade 12 Pre-University program (which is offered directly at Complexe JC Perreault). At Ulysse Acad茅mie, there is rarely a shortage of academic opportunities allowing student-athletes to play hockey. Practices are after school, and competitions take place on weekends.

听BILLET FAMILIES

Student-athletes who do not come from areas close to our program stay with host families. This allows them to evolve in a family environment that fosters smooth personal, academic and athletic development. For us, placing our youngsters with host families is the best way to provide our Ulysses students with an enriching, safe and secure environment in which to live and socialize.

INJURIES AND MENTAL HEALTH MONITORING听

The support provided to our student-athletes includes monitoring their physical development and state of health. Our program is staffed by experienced therapists and kinesiologists. These professionals accompany our Ulysses students daily and maintain constant communication with parents to ensure optimal treatment and injury prevention. A physiotherapy clinic is located just across the street from the JCPerreault Complex, and hospitals are nearby. These facilities provide follow-up and treatment to our athletes in the event of injury.

听SCHOOL SCHEDULE

School starts at 7:45 a.m. for our high school student-athletes who are studying at 脡cole secondaire de l’Odyss茅e in Terrebonne. On the other hand, classes end at 2:30 p.m. Training (on and off the ice) therefore takes place at the end of the day for them. Our U18 team members are studying grade 12 directly in Complexe JCPerreault. Their program is online, but our student-athletes are supervised by a tutor from Tuesday to Thursday. Their progress is analyzed to ensure that they don’t fall behind schedule. All our students are subject to an academic success protocol. If a student-athlete is unable to comply with it, sanctions involving participation in the program’s sports activities are imposed.

听FACILITIES听

Our program is based at the听. This infrastructure houses two rinks that meet NHL specifications.听 It also houses the Ulysse Acad茅mie offices, a training room and two classrooms. Three locker rooms are reserved for our teams. Our Varsity team’s locker room is the envy of many professional teams. The complex also boasts a restaurant offering an elaborate menu in impressive surroundings. Complexe JC Perreault is in a rapidly developing sector. A physiotherapy clinic and a field hockey center are located across the street, and more construction is planned for the near future. We also use the gymnasiums and outdoor synthetic fields at听. The use of these facilities enables our student-athletes to practice lacrosse and benefit from optimal training. Finally, our rowing activities are held at the听听and our mountain biking activities at the听.

Over the years, many highly talented Ulysians have taken advantage of this fact to enjoy extraordinary careers. Some have gone on to pursue University studies at the NCAA and U-Sports levels, while others have gone the Major Junior route. Ten of our alumni have had professional careers in North America and Europe, seven have attended NHL camps and one is currently in the AHL. All our alumni have stood out in terms of their athletic ability, attitude, and the quality of their academics.

The 2024 CSSHL Eastern Championships will be hosted by Ulysse Academie and run from March 20-24, 2024 in Saint-Roch-de-l’Achigan, QC. This will be the first time Ulysse hosts the Eastern Championships. Okanagan Hockey Ontario (Whitby, ON) hosted in 2023 and Ontario Hockey Academy (Cornwall, ON) hosted the inaugural event in 2022.

The U18 division will see all nine teams compete in a two-game round robin. At the end of the round robin the first and second place teams will advance straight to the semi-finals, while third and sixth and fourth and fifth will battle in the quarterfinals. The semi-finals and quarterfinals will both take place March 23. The final will be held on March 24 at 11:30am EST.听 Bourget College won the 2023 U18 Eastern Championships.

Beginning on March 20^th the five teams in the U17 division will all play in a three-game round robin. Following the round robin, the top two teams will advance straight to the finals on March 24^th at 9:00am EST. Ontario Hockey Academy Maroon won the 2023 U17 Eastern Championships.

Located in Sherbrooke, QC, Bishop鈥檚 College was founded in 1836 and is the fifth oldest private school in Canada. They will compete in the Eastern U18 division for the 2023/24 season.

鈥淲e are excited to be part of the CSSHL as it will allow our student-athletes to continue their growth and development and provide them great exposure within our province and country. We look forward to working with and being part of the CSSHL,鈥� said Marco Pietroniro, the Hockey Director of Bishop鈥檚 College School.

Ulysse Acad茅mie is located in Terrebonne, QC just outside of Montreal. Founded in 2007, Ulysse Acad茅mie will compete in the Eastern U18 division for the 2023/24 season.
