Former Shawnigan Lake School defenseman Griffen Barr has committed to Brown University for the 2023/24 season.

Barr spent four seasons in the Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) with Shawnigan Lake. He joined the program in 2016/17, producing 10 points in 27 U15 Prep games. The Nanaimo, BC product would record 21 points in 24 U17 Prep games the following season, earning the CSSHL U17 Top Defenseman Award while helping Shawnigan capture a CSSHL U17 Western Championship.

Barr would spend the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons at the U18 Prep level, finishing with 58 points in 72 games, including 42 in 2019/20 which was best amongst all U18 Prep defenseman.

In 2020/21 Barr would join the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), finishing with 12 points in 20 games. Barr would follow that up with 19 points in 53 games in 2021/22 and 18 in 38 during the 2022/23 season.

Brown University is a private Ivy League research university in Providence, Rhode Islad. An NCAA Division I program, Brown University competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Former Delta Hockey Academy student-athlete Luke Pakulak has committed to the Bentley University Falcons for the 2023/24 NCAA Division I season.

Pakulak spent four seasons in the Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) with Delta, joining the program in 2016/17. In 22 U15 games that season the Surrey, BC forward would record 19 points.

He would join the Delta White U15 Prep team in 2017/18, finishing with 13 points. The following season Pakulak would record 17 points in 33 U16 Prep games. 2019/20 would be his last season with Delta, tallying 8 points in 26 U18 Prep games.

In 2020/21 Pakulak would make the jump to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Vernon Vipers, finishing with 4 points in 13 games. In 2020/21 he would record 18 points in 42 games, before adding 40 points in 46 games with Vernon this past regular season.

The Falcons are an NCAA Division I program located in Waltham, Massachusetts and compete in the Atlantic Hockey Conference (AHA).

The Surrey Eagles have added four Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) student-athletes for the 2022/23 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.

A fourth-round pick, 71st overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds at the 2021 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Rylan Bonkowski spent three seasons in the CSSHL. The Richmond, BC defenseman joined Delta Hockey Academy for the 2019/20 U15 season, recording 25 points in 30 games. He would suit up for the BWC Academy U15 Prep team the following season, tallying six assists in six games. This past season Bonkowski finished with 11 points in 20 regular season games, plus 1 assist in 5 playoff games as he helped BWC Academy capture a CSSHL U18 Prep League Championship. Bonkowski played 1 BCHL game as an affiliate player for the Eagles during the 2021/22 campaign.

A forward from Surrey, BC, Savek Brar spent the 2021/22 U18 Prep season with Delta Hockey Academy. Brar would play 13 regular season games with Delta, and 3 more in the playoffs where he would tally 1 assist.

Another BWC Academy product, Ryden Evers has been with BWC Academy since the 2018/19 U15 season where he tallied 32 points in 30 games. The Burnaby, BC forward would finish the 2019/20 U15 Prep season with 30 points in 27 games.  He would finish second among BWC Academy U16 Prep skaters with nine points in five games during the 2020/21 campaign. In 2021/22 Evers would score 13 goals and 23 assists in 24 regular season games, before adding 4 points in 5 playoff games, helping BWC Academy capture a CSSHL U18 Prep League Championship.  Evers would also play one BCHL game as an affiliate player with the Vernon Vipers.

Alexander Sandhu would lead the Delta U18 Prep team in goals (23) and points (48) during the 2021/22 CSSHL season.  In 2020/21 the Delta, BC forward would score one goal and one assist in four U16 Prep games.  Sandhu spent the previous two seasons with the BWC Academy U15 Prep team, tallying 35 points in 56 games.

Tremblay spent the 2021/22 CSSHL season in the Eastern Division with Mount Academy U18 #1. In 26 CSSHL games the Sherbrooke, QC forward finished second in the division with 62 points, including a division best 41 assists. He would add an additional three goals and two assists in five playoff games as Mount Academy U18 #1 would capture a CSSHL Eastern Division League Championship.

Former Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) student-athlete Elan Bar-Lev-Wise has committed to Yale University for the 2022/23 season.

Bar-Lev-Wise spent two seasons in the CSSHL with the BWC Academy U18 Prep team. He joined the program in 2016/17, tallying 16 points in 19 games. Selected in the sixth round, 132nd overall by the Victoria Royals in the 2016 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Bar-Lev-Wise would finish the 2017/18 season ninth in league, and fourth in team scoring with 61 points in 32 games.

The Vancouver, BC forward would join the Vernon Vipers in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the 2018/19 season, finishing with 26 points in 58 games. He would return to Vernon for the majority of the following season, before joining the West Kelowna Warriors to conclude the 2019/20 season, and entirety of the 2020/21 season. In 39 games this season Bar-Lev-Wise is tied for second in team scoring with 40 points.

Yale University is a private Ivy League research university in New Haven, Connecticut. Yale University is an NCAA Division I program competing in the ECAC Hockey conference.

The Vernon Vipers have added a pair of Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) student-athletes for the 2021/22 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.

Having already added Luke Ashton, Ethan David and Seiya Tanka-Campbell, the Vipers will bring in five CSSHL student-athletes for next season with the recent additions of Tyler Chan and Greye Rampton.

Chan has spent the last three years with his hometown BWC Academy playing for their U15, U15 Prep and U18 Prep teams. A fifth-round pick, 100th overall in the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft by the Spokane Chiefs, Chan was named the 2018/19 U15 Most Valuable Player after leading the division in assists (42) and points (69). In 68 CSSHL games the forward scored 51 goals and added 69 assists.

From Chilliwack, BC, Rampton has played for Yale Hockey Academy the last three years. He joined the program in 2018/19 in the U15 division, tallying 23 points in 30 games. The forward would record 14 points in 34 U16 Prep games the following year, before finishing this past season at the U17 Prep level with 6 points in 5 games.

Three Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes have signed to play in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Vernon Vipers for the 2021/22 season.

Luke Ashton, Ethan David, and Seiya Tanaka-Campbell will all join the Vipers next season for their first season at the junior ranks.

A third-round pick by the Red Deer Rebels in the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft, Ashton has spent the last three seasons with BWC Academy. In 62 CSSHL games at the U15, U15 Prep and U18 Prep divisions, the 6’5 defensemen had 41 points.

David has spent the last four seasons with Shawnigan Lake School, though the team was unable to play any games this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He joined the program at the U15 level in 2017/18, before moving up to U17 Prep, and ultimately U18 Prep. David won a U17 Prep CSSHL League Championship, and finished the 2019/20 season with the best goals against average (1.45) in the U18 Prep division.

Another Shawnigan Lake School product, Tanaka-Campbell has spent four seasons in the CSSHL. He joined Shawnigan in 2016/17 and played 47 U15 Prep games, recording 34 points. In 2018/19 he would make the jump to U18 Prep and tally 84 points over 64 games. In 2019/20 he was named to the CSSHL U18 Prep All-Academic Team and was named the Most Sportsmanlike Player. That season he would play four games for the Vipers scoring once and adding one assist.

The British Columbia Hockey League’s Vernon Vipers add Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú student athlete Luke Pakulak to their 2020-21 roster. 

Pakulak, who represented Delta Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team last season, notched three goals and set up five assists (3-5-8) in 26 regular season games.

The six-foot-two, Surrey, B.C. native spent the last four seasons playing for the Delta Hockey Academy netting 28 goals and 30 assists (28-30-58) in 116 regular season games while adding three goals and two assists (3-2-5) in 11 career BDO CSSHL Championship games.

The six foot defenseman spent last season playing for Shawnigan Lake School’s U18 Prep team where he recorded five goals and 37 assists (5-37-42) in 36 regular season games.

During the 2020 BDO CSSHL Championships, Barr, 18, set up two goals in two playoff games which were cut short due to COVID-19. 

In four seasons in the CSSHL, the Nanaimo, BC product scored 20 goals and 75 assists (20-75-95) in 137 career games.

Five-year Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú student athlete, and two-time champion, Logan Lorenz will be taking his talents to the British Columbia Hockey League’s Vernon Vipers next season.

Lorenz, 17, has competed in the CSSHL since 2015, most recently playing two seasons at the U18 Prep level with the Northern Alberta Xtreme, posting 115 points (41-74-115) in 69 games. He captured the CSSHL U18 Prep Championship in 2019 and was also named to the 2020 CSSHL U18 Prep All-Academic Team in 2020.

During the 2017-18 season, the Consort, Alta. product registered 20 points (5-15-20) in 32 games with the Edge School U16 Prep team.

Lorenz attended the Pursuit of Excellence for two seasons, posting 17 points in 26 games (5-12-17) with their U15 Prep team during the 2016-17 season, helping his team win the 2017 CSSHL U15 Prep Championship, and registering 19 points (9-10-19) in 19 games with their U15 team during the 2016-16 season.
