Former Yale Hockey Academy defenseman Graham Sward has signed an AHL Contract with the Manitoba Moose.

The Abbotsford, BC product spent two seasons in the CSSHL with Yale’s U15 Prep team. During the 2016/17 season he would tally 9 points in 30 games. The following campaign Sward finished with 18 points in 26 games, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 17th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.

Sward joined the Chiefs in 2019/20, playing in 55 games and recording 17 points. The following year he would play in just 11 games but the Nashville Predators would select him in the fifth round, 146th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.

He would begin the 2022/23 season with the Chiefs, playing eight games with the team before being moved to the Winnipeg Ice. Sward would finish the season with 33 points in 52 games with the Ice, adding 12 more points in 19 playoff games.

This past season Sward had 15 goals and 66 assists in 66 games with the Wenatchee Wild, earning him WHL (US) First All-Star Team honours.

The Moose have assigned Sward to the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals to begin the 2024/25 season.

Former CSSHL student-athlete Wyatt Wilson has signed in the ECHL with the Orlando Solar Bears.

Wilson joined Yale Hockey Academy for the 2017/18 U15 Prep season finishing with 9 points in 25 games. At the conclusion of the season the Lethbridge Hurricanes would select the Swift Current, SK defender in the sixth round, 116th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.聽The following U16 Prep season Wilson had 6 goals and 17 assists in 36 games with Yale.

In 2021/22 Wilson joined the Victoria Royals, recording 13 points in 59 games over parts of two WHL seasons. He would finish the 2022/23 season with the Winnipeg Ice, adding 5 assists in 16 games.

This past WHL campaign Wilson had 1 goal and 5 assists in 53 games with the Vancouver Giants.

Former Yale Hockey Academy and current Wenatchee Wild defenseman Graham Sward has been named the October CSSHL WHL Alumni Player of the Month.

Sward currently leads all WHL skaters with 23 assists, while his 28 points in 15 games is tops among all Wenatchee skaters. Sward played 11 games in October, recording at least a point in all of them, with 7 games being multi-point efforts, including his last 5 of the month. In all, he finished October with 4 goals and 16 assists.

Former CSSHL student-athlete Tanner Brown has signed a contract in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades.

Brown spent two seasons in the CSSHL, joining Pursuit of Excellence (POE) for the 2016/17 U15 Prep season. In 26 games the Kelowna, BC defenseman would record 29 points. He would add four assists in four playoff games as POE captured the 2017 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship.

At the conclusion of the season the Vancouver Giants would select Brown in the second round, 24th overall at the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

In 2018/19 Brown would suit-up for the Delta Hockey Academy U18 Prep team, tallying 21 points in 29 games. Having already played 14 games the last two seasons for the Giants as an affiliate player, Brown would join the team full time in 2019/20. He would spend two and a half seasons with the Giants, tallying 26 points in 113 games.

After beginning the 2021/22 season in Vancouver, Brown would join the Winnipeg Ice for the remainder of the season, recording 12 points in 33 games. He would begin the 2022/23 season with the Red Deer Rebels where he would produce six assists in five games. He would finish his junior career with the Regina Pats, scoring 4 goals and adding 23 assists in 58 games.

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have signed five current and former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athletes ahead of the 2023/24 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season.

A forward from Calgary, AB, Ryley Callan played the 2020/21 COVID-19 shortened season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U16 Prep team.

Anthony Campbell has spent the last two seasons with Mount Academy. The Phillipsburg, QC would record 35 points in 28 games with the Mount Academy U18 #1 team during the 2021/22 season. He would add three points in five playoff games as Mount captured the 2022 CSSHL U18 Eastern Championship. This season Campbell tallied 3 goals and 10 assists in 7 games with the Mount Academy U18 Varsity team. He would produce five points in three playoff games at the 2023 CSSHL U18 Eastern Championship.

Originally from Qingdao, China, Jason Huang has played the last three CSSHL seasons with NAX. During the 2020/21 U15 Prep season he would record five goals and six assists in four games. The following U16 Prep season Huang would finish third on his team and tenth among all CSSHL skaters with 51 points in 36 games. He would add six points in five playoff games as NAX were crowned 2022 CSSHL U16 Prep Champions. This season Huang tallied 24 points in 28 U18 Prep games, fourth most amongst NAX skaters.

Chad Lebeau, a defenseman from Repentigny, QC, has spent the last two seasons playing alongside Campbell at Mount Academy. During the 2021/22 season he would finish with 19 points in 24 games. He would add two points in two playoff games to help Mount capture the 2022 CSSHL U18 Eastern Championship. This season Lebeau would record three goals and seven assists in seven games with the Mount Academy U18 Varsity team.

A sixth round pick, 116th overall by the Winnipeg Ice at the 2021 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Kyle Marsden played two seasons in the CSSHL with NAX. During the 2020/21 season the Stephenville, NL defender would play three U15 Prep games, producing one assist. This season Marsden would play 27 U18 Prep games for NAX, tallying 5 goals and 3 assists. He would also play two AJHL games for the Oil Barons, and one WHL games for the Ice, as an affiliate player.

Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Jarod Newell has committed to Red Deer College for the 2023/24 season.

A fourth round pick by the Tri-City Americans at the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Newell joined the NAX U16 Prep team for the 2017/18 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) season. In 29 regular season games the Wainwright, AB defenseman would tally 2 goals and 20 assists. In five playoff games with NAX he would assist one goal to help his team capture the 2018 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship.

In 2018/19 Newell would join Tri-City for his first season in the WHL, recording 2 points in 44 games. He would start the following season split between the Americans and Kelowna Rockets before heading to the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Camrose Kodiaks, finishing with 6 assists in 23 games.

After playing just six AJHL games in 2020/21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Newell would record 13 points in 38 games with the Kodiaks before returning to the WHL with the Winnipeg Ice. In 15 games with the Ice he would tally 1 assist.

This season Newell played 56 games with the Kodiaks recording 1 goal and 17 assists.

Located in Reed Deer, AB, Red Deer College are the current defending Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) champions.

The Chilliwack, BC forward spent two seasons in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with the Yale U15 Prep team.聽 During the 2018/19 season Benson would finish with 6 goals and 13 assists in 28 games. He would add four points in five playoff games as Yale captured the 2019 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship.

The following season Benson would lead the CSSHL U15 Prep division with 56 assists and 86 points while being named league MVP.聽 The Winnipeg Ice would select Benson in the first round, 14th overall at the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

Benson has played the last three seasons in the WHL with the Ice, tallying 181 points in 142 games. This season he would be named to the CHL Third All-Star Team and WHL (East) First All-Star Team. His 98 points in 60 games were a team high and third among all WHL Skaters. He would also represent Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, tallying seven points in five games as Canada captured gold.

The Sabres selected Benson in the first round, 13th overall at the 2023 NHL Draft.

Former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athlete Connor McClennon has signed a two-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Chicago Wolves.

McClennon spent three seasons in the CSSHL, joining the league in 2015/16 with Pursuit of Excellence (POE). In 23 U15 Prep games that season the Wainwright, AB forward would finish second on his team and fourth in the league with 44 points. The following season McClennon would lead all U15 Prep skaters with 45 goals, 54 assists and 99 points as he would capture league MVP honours. He would add an additional 16 points in 5 playoff games as POE captured the 2017 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship.

At the conclusion of the season the Kootenay Ice would selected McClennon in the first round, second overall at the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

McClennon would return home to Alberta in 2017/18, joining the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U18 Prep team. He would again lead his team in scoring, finishing fifth among all skaters, with 67 points in 31 games. McClennon would add 11 points in 5 playoff games as NAX won the 2018 CSSHL U18 Prep Western Championships.

That season McClennon would represent Team Alberta at the 2018 WHL Cup, capturing a silver medal. He would also get his first taste of WHL action, playing in five games for the Ice.

In 2018/19 McClennon would join the Ice full time, finishing with 29 points in 46 games. He would join Team Canada White at the World U17 Hockey Challenge where he would be named to the Tournament All-Star Team after leading all skaters with 8 goals and 11 points.

During the 2019/20 season McClennon would produce 49 points in 42 games with newly re-located Winnipeg Ice, prompting the Philadelphia Flyers to select him in the sixth round, 178th overall at the 2020 NHL Draft. McClennon would again play for Team Canada, this time earning a silver medal at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

McClennon played the last two seasons in Winnipeg with the Ice, recording 173 points in 126 WHL games, including a career high 92 points this season which earned him WHL (East) First All-Star Team honours.

Former OHA Edmonton student-athlete Owen Pederson has signed a two-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Providence Bruins for the start of the 2023/24 season.

Pederson spent three seasons in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with OHA Edmonton, joining the program in 2016/17. That season the Stony Plain, AB forward would record 34 points in 30 U15 Prep games. During the 2017/18 season Pederson would tally 22 points in 34 U18 Prep games.

He would begin the 2018/19 season with the OHA Edmonton U18 Prep team, producing 30 points in 18 games, before joining the Kootenay Ice for the remainder of the Western Hockey League (WHL) season. The Ice originally selected Pederson in the fifth round, 89th overall at the 2017 WHL Draft.

The Ice would move to Winnipeg in 2019/20 and Pederson would go with them, finishing with 50 points in 61 games. In 2020/21 he would add 31 points in 24 games, following that up with 43 points in 50 games in 2021/22.

This season Pederson finished sixth in team scoring with 74 points in games. He would add 12 points in 19 playoff games as the Ice made it to the WHL Finals.

The Prince Albert Raiders have signed Daxon Rudolph, the first overall pick at the 2023 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft, to a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.

Rudolph spent the 2022/23 season in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U15 Prep team. In 30 games Rudolph led all defensemen with 17 goals and 50 points. Rudolph would save his best for last as he led all skaters with 5 goals and 12 points in 5 playoff games. The Lacombe, AB product would score two goals in the semi-finals, including the game winner with 18 seconds left, and two more in the finals, scoring the overtime winner on a breakaway 1:19 into the extra frame as NAX captured the 2023 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship.

Rudolph is the third NAX skater to be drafted first overall in the WHL Draft joining Dylan Guenther (2018/Edmonton Oil Kings) and Matthew Savoie (2019/Winnipeg Ice). Both Guenther and Savoie were drafted ninth overall at their respective NHL Drafts: Guenther in 2021 to the Arizona Coyotes and Savoie in 2022 to the Buffalo Sabres.
