Former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athlete Connor McClennon has signed a two-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Chicago Wolves.

McClennon spent three seasons in the CSSHL, joining the league in 2015/16 with Pursuit of Excellence (POE). In 23 U15 Prep games that season the Wainwright, AB forward would finish second on his team and fourth in the league with 44 points. The following season McClennon would lead all U15 Prep skaters with 45 goals, 54 assists and 99 points as he would capture league MVP honours. He would add an additional 16 points in 5 playoff games as POE captured the 2017 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship.

At the conclusion of the season the Kootenay Ice would selected McClennon in the first round, second overall at the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

McClennon would return home to Alberta in 2017/18, joining the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U18 Prep team. He would again lead his team in scoring, finishing fifth among all skaters, with 67 points in 31 games. McClennon would add 11 points in 5 playoff games as NAX won the 2018 CSSHL U18 Prep Western Championships.

That season McClennon would represent Team Alberta at the 2018 WHL Cup, capturing a silver medal. He would also get his first taste of WHL action, playing in five games for the Ice.

In 2018/19 McClennon would join the Ice full time, finishing with 29 points in 46 games. He would join Team Canada White at the World U17 Hockey Challenge where he would be named to the Tournament All-Star Team after leading all skaters with 8 goals and 11 points.

During the 2019/20 season McClennon would produce 49 points in 42 games with newly re-located Winnipeg Ice, prompting the Philadelphia Flyers to select him in the sixth round, 178th overall at the 2020 NHL Draft. McClennon would again play for Team Canada, this time earning a silver medal at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

McClennon played the last two seasons in Winnipeg with the Ice, recording 173 points in 126 WHL games, including a career high 92 points this season which earned him WHL (East) First All-Star Team honours.

Carter Savoie has signed a National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Level Contract (ELC) with the Edmonton Oilers after they selected the St. Albert, AB forward in the fourth round, 100th overall at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Savoie spent the 2017/18 season in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX), finishing fifth in the U16 Prep division in scoring with 58 points in 34 games. Selected in the ninth round, 198th overall in the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft by the Regina Pats, Savoie would add an additional eight points in five CSSHL playoff games, helping NAX capture the CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship.

He would make the jump to the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) the following season with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, finishing with a team best 42 assists and 73 points in 58 games, good enough for fifth in league scoring. His impressive season would be capped with AJHL (North) All-Rookie Team, AJHL (North) All-Star Team, AJHL Rookie of the Year and Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Top Rookie honours.

Savoie would return to the Crusaders for the 2019/20 season, leading the AJHL with 53 goals in 54 games, while his 99 points were second in the AJHL to teammate Arjun Atwal. Savoie would once again be named to the AJHL (North) All-Star Team as he helped the Crusaders to an AJHL best 98 regular season points. The Oilers would select Savoie in the NHL Entry Draft at the conclusion of this season.

In 2020/21 Savoie would join the University of Denver for the NCAA season. In 24 games he would score 13 goals and 7 assists, while earning NCAA (NCHC) All-Rookie Team honours.

2021/22 would be a historic season for Savoie as he would finish with second on his team in scoring 45 points in 39 games, including a team best 23 goals, as Denver would go on to be crowned NCAA Division I Champions.

Following the conclusion of his NCAA season, Savoie would sign an Amateur Tryout-Out Agreement (ATO) with the Oilers American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. Savoie would play two games for the Condors before signing his NHL Contract, effectively ending his 2021/22 season.

Lukas Svejkovsky has signed a National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Point Roberts, WA forward was originally selected by the Penguins in the fourth round, 108th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry draft.

Svejkovsky has spent the last four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL), having played for three different teams. Svejkovsky joined the Vancouver Giants in 2018/19 after they selected him in the second round, 36th overall in the 2016 WHL Draft. He would spend one and a half seasons with the Giants, recording 36 points in 85 games.

He would be traded to the Medicine Hat Tigers during the 2019/20 season, playing 34 games and recording 28 points with them that season. He would tally 20 points in 22 games during the 2020/21 season, and 30 points in 24 games in 2021/22 before being traded to the Seattle Thunderbirds. In 31 games with the Thunderbirds Svejkovsky has scored 19 goals to go along with 24 assists.

Prior to his WHL career, Svejkovsky played the 2017/18 season in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Wenatchee Wild, finishing with 11 points in 16 games, helping the Wild capture a BCHL Championship.

Svejkovsky spent three seasons in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with Delta Hockey Academy. He would suit up for the Delta U15 Prep team for the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, tallying 41 points in 43 games. In 2016/17 he would play for the Delta U16 Prep team, finishing with 27 assists and 17 goals in just 22 games.

Jake Sanderson has signed a National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Level Contract with the Ottawa Senators.

The Whitefish, MT defenseman spent the 2017/18 season with the Edge School U16 Prep team, finishing second among all 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) defensemen with 43 points in 23 games.

Sanderson would spend the next two seasons with the US National U17 and U18 teams, captaining both teams each year. Following the conclusion of the 2019/20 season, the Ottawa Senators would draft Sanderson in the first round, fifth overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

In 2020/21 he joined NCAA Division I program University of North Dakota, and was named to the NCAA (NCHC) All-Rookie Team, and NCAA (NCHC) All-Tournament Team while winning an NCAA (NCHC) Championship and NCAA (NCHC) Regular Season Championship (Penrose Cup). This season Sanderson recorded 26 points in 23 NCAA games.

Sanderson has represented Team USA on four different occasions, having previously done so at the 2019 U17 Tournament, 2021 and 2022 World Juniors, and most recently at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Sanderson won gold in 2021 and was captain of the 2022 World Juniors team before the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two former Yale Hockey Academy student-athletes and current Chilliwack Chiefs have committed to the University of Vermont.

Ethan Bowen spent the 2016/17 season with the Yale U15 Prep team finishing seventh in league scoring with 62 points in 29 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) games. His 33 goals, 29 assists and 62 points were all team highs that season. Following the conclusion of the 2016/17 season, the Kelowna Rockets would select Bowen in the second round, 39th overall in the 2017 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

The forward would join his hometown Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2018/19, finishing with 39 points in 58 games. In 2019/20 Bowen would tally 31 points in 41 games before being selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round, 207th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Bowen would finish the 2020/21 season with 21 points in 19 games, and currently has 27 points in 23 games this season.

Dawson Good spent the 2017/18 season with the Yale U16 Prep team. In 34 CSSHL games he would finish second in team scoring with 36 points. The Abbotsford, BC forward would join Chilliwack full time for the 2020/21 season, finishing with 4 goals and 6 assists in 20 games. This year Good currently sits second in team scoring with 30 points in 28 games.

The University of Vermont is an NCAA Division I school located in Burlington, Vermont. The team competes in the Hockey East conference.

Jake Sanderson will make 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) history next month as he becomes the first ever male CSSHL alumnus to compete at the Olympic Winter Games.

Dylan Garand has put pen to paper, signing a three-year NHL Entry Level Contract with the New York Rangers.

The Rangers originally drafted the Victoria, BC native in the fourth round, 103rd overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Garand has spent the past three seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kamloops Blazers, who selected him in the third round of the 2017 WHL Draft. In 109 WHL games Garand has recorded a 2.32 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .918 Save Percentage (SV%), while earning the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year (Daryl K. Seaman Trophy) Award in 2019/20.

Internationally, Garand has represented Team Canada three times, winning silver at the 2020 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2021 World Juniors. He started one game for Team Canada at the 2022 World Juniors before the remainder of the tournament was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to his time in the WHL, Garand spent two seasons in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) with Delta Hockey Academy. In 2016/17 he led the U15 Prep division with a 1.15 GAA and .959 SV%, finishing with 4 shutouts in 13 games. The following season he would play 22 games and recorded a 2.12 GAA and .931 SV% with 4 shutouts at the U18 Prep level.

Teams from across the globe will face off at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championships starting Christmas Day in Edmonton, Alta.

Hockey Canada has invited 46 players to Canada鈥檚 National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp, which will take place Nov. 16 to Dec. 13 in Red Deer, Alta. Among the 46 selected players are six former 麻豆传媒入口 student athletes.

Yale Hockey Academy products, defenseman Bowen Byram and centre Dylan Cozens, will be veterans at the selection camp this year. Both Byram and Cozens competed for Team Canada at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championships where they helped Canada capture the gold.

New to camp this year are Rink Hockey Academy product Seth Jarvis, former OHA Edmonton defenceman Kaiden Guhle, Delta Hockey Academy alum Dylan Garand and center Gage Goncalves who laced up for Yale Hockey Academy

Jarvis and Guhle were both selected in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft, while Garand and Goncalves were both selected on Day 2.聽

Robins, 18, was selected in the second round, 56th overall by the San Jose Sharks. The Brandon, MB native competed for the Rink Hockey Academy鈥檚 U18 Prep team during the 2017-18 season where he put up 54 points (20-34-54) in 31 regular season games. The five foot 10 forward also added six assists (0-6-6) in five games during the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships.聽

Finley, 18, was drafted in the second round, 57th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Kelowna, BC product laced up for the Pursuit of Excellence in 2016-17 where he recorded 23 goals and 25 assists (23-25-48) in 27 regular season games. During the 2017 CSSHL Championships, the 2002 born forward added one goal and five assists (1-5-6) for the U15 Prep squad.聽

Goncalves, 19, was selected in the second round, 62nd over all by the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Mission, BC product spent two seasons with the Yale Hockey Academy, most recently in the 2016-17 campaign where he recorded 13 points and 17 assists (13-17-30). The six foot forward added one assist (0-1-1) in three 2017 CSSHL Championship games.聽

Prokop, 18, was selected in the third round, 73rd overall by the Nashville Predators. During the 2017-18 season, the Edmonton, Alta. native netted four goals and 16 assists (4-16-20) in 28 regular season games for the Northern Alberta Xtreme. The six foot four defenseman also put up one goal and seven assists (1-7-8) in five 2018 BDO CSSHL Championship games.聽

Sourdif, 18, was selected in the third round, 87th overall by the Florida Panthers. During the 2016-17 season, the Surrey, BC born forward notched 32 goals and 34 assists (32-34-66) for the Delta Hockey Academy and added six points (4-2-6) during the 2017 CSSHL Championships.聽

Benning, 18, was selected in the fourth round, 95th overall by the Florida Panthers. The St. Albert, AB product played for the Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 U16 Prep squad in 2017-18 where he registered 14 goals and 35 assists (14-35-49) in 29 regular season. During the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships, the 2002 born defenseman added three points (1-2-3) in four playoff games.聽

Savoie, 18, was selected in the fourth round, 100th overall by the Edmonton Oilers. The St. Albert, AB product skated for the Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 U16 Prep team in the 2017-18 season where he tallied 58 points (20-38-58) in 34 regular season games. In the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships, Savoie scored two goals and set up six others (2-6-8) in five championship games.聽

Garand, 18, was selected in the fourth round, 103rd overall by the New York Rangers. The Victoria, BC native attend the Delta Hockey Academy in 2017-18 where he had a 0.945 save percentage in 35 appearances.聽

Svejkovsky, 18, was selected in the fourth round, 108th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The three year Delta Hockey Academy student athlete last suited up for the team in 2016-17 where he registered 17 goals and 27 assists (17-27-44) in 22 regular season games. In 73 career CSSHL games, the five foot 10 forward totalled 95 points, 30 goals and 65 assists (30-65-90).聽

Edwards, 18, was selected in the fourth round, 120th overall by the New Jersey Devils. The St. Albert, Alta. product laced up for the Northern Alberta Xtreme in the 2018-19 season where he charted two goals and 23 assists (2-23-25) in 32 regular season games. The 2002 born defenseman added two points (1-1-2) in five 2019 BDO CSSHL Championship games.聽

Cotton, 19, was selected in the fifth round, 132nd overall by the Detroit Red Wings. The Langley, BC native attended the Yale Hockey Academy for three seasons, most recently in 2017-18, where he tallied 11 goals and 43 assists (11-43-54) in 32 regular season games. The six foot two defenseman also produced three points (2-1-3) in the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships.聽

Hughes, 19, was selected in the fifth round, 148th overall by the Washington Capitals. The聽Coeur d’Alene, ID product attended the CDA Hockey Academy in 2017-18.聽

Rempe, 18, was drafted in the sixth round, 165th overall for the New York Rangers. The 2002 born forward attended the Okanagan Hockey Academy for two seasons, most recently during the 2017-18 campaign where he scored 14 points (6-8-14) for the U16 Prep squad. In 68 career CSSHL games, the Calgary, Alta product registered seven goals and 14 assists (7-14-21).

McClennon, 18, was selected in the sixth round, 178th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers. During the 2017-18 season, the Wainwright, Alta. born defenseman banked 26 goals and 41 assists (26-41-67) for the Northern Alberta Xtremes U18 Prep squad. McClennon finished off the seasons by adding 11 points (4-7-11) in the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships.聽

McCartney, 19, was selected in the seventh round, 204th overall by the Arizona Coyotes. The Portage, MB native spent two seasons in the CSSHL where he represented Okanagan Hockey Academy. During his most recent season, 2016-17, the six foot forward scored 27 goals and 24 assists (27-24-51) in 9 regular season games. McCartney added one goal and one assist (1-1-2) in three 2017 CSSHL Championships.聽

Bowen, 18, was selected in the seventh round, 204th overall by the Anaheim Ducks. The Chilliwack, BC product attended the Yale Hockey Academy鈥檚 U15 Prep team in 2016-17 where he banked 33 goals and 29 assists in 29 regular season games. The six foot one center added five points in the 2017 CSSHL Championships, scoring four goals and one assist (4-1-5).聽

Former 麻豆传媒入口 student athletes Jake Sanderson, Seth Jarvis, Kaiden Guhle and Jake Neighbours were selected in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft on Tuesday.聽

Sanderson was picked fifth overall by the Ottawa Senators, Jarvis was selected thirteenth overall by the Carolina Hurricanes, Guhle went sixteenth to the Montreal Canadiens while Neighbours was drafted twenty-sixth overall by the St. Louis Blues.

This year marks the fourth time in five years that a minimum of two CSSHL alums were selected in the first round of the NHL Draft and the first time that four former student athletes were selected.

Sanderson, 18, skated for the Edge School鈥檚 U16 Prep team in 2017-18 where he registered 16 goals and 27 assists (16-27-43) in 32 regular season games. The 2002 born defenseman added three points (1-2-3) in the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships.

The Whitefish, MT native spent the past two seasons playing for the US Development Program.聽

Jarvis, 18, competed for the Rink Hockey Academy鈥檚 Midget Prep squad for two seasons, most recently in the 2017-18 campaign where he scored 32 goals and 28 points (32-28-60) in the 32 regular season games.聽

During the 2018 BDO CSSHL Championships, the 2002 born forward added three goals and two assists (3-2-5) in five playoff games.聽

The Winnipeg, MB product laced up for the Western Hockey League鈥檚 Portland Winterhawks for the 2019-20 season where he netted 42 goals and 56 assists (42-56-98) in 58 regular season games.聽

Guhle, 18, suited up for OHA Edmonton for two seasons, most recently during the 2017-18 where he registered 39 points (14-25-39) in 35 games for OHA鈥檚 Midget Prep team and two points (1-1-2) in three 2018 BDO CSSHL Championship games.聽

The Sherwood Park, Atla. born defensemen has spent the past two seasons playing for the Westen Hockey League鈥檚 Prince Albert Raiders where he tallied 14 goals and 44 assists (14-44-58) in 137 career games.聽

Neighbours, 18, netted 31 goals and 42 assists (31-42-73) in 34 regular season games for the Pursuit of Excellence鈥檚 Bantam Prep team and added 11 points (5-6-11) during the 2017 CSSHL Championships.

In three seasons playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings, the Airdrie, Alta native recorded 34 goals and 64 assists (34-64-98) in 122 career WHL games.
