M鈥檋amed (2G, 2A) restored Edge鈥檚 lead with just over four minutes left in the period but it wouldn鈥檛 last long as North Shore鈥檚 Dominic Seminoff scored with 16 seconds to go, knotting the game up at four. M鈥檋amed put Edge back on top in the third with a power play marker and this time they wouldn鈥檛 relinquish the lead. Less than two minutes later, Wytrychowski (2G, 1A) scored his first goal of the Western Championships, adding some insurance for Edge. Wytrychowski put the game out of reach in the final minute, sending the puck into an empty net. Ryley Budd (10/11) was solid in relief for Edge, making 10 saves.聽

Prairie鈥檚 momentum would carry into the third, leading to a fourth goal off the blade of Zander Watson (1G, 1A). Once again, BWC Academy would strike late in the frame, this time off the stick of Bitonti for his second of the evening. Another solo rush for Shawnigan courtesy of Cole Mekelburg would once again bring them back to within striking distance, but that was all the offence Shawnigan was able to cook up. Lukas Hoff would wire one bar down to restore BWC Academy鈥檚 lead and take the victory. Noah Sinagowitz (27/30) picked up the W in the crease.聽

BWC Academy (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) U17 Division II Western Championships

Saskatoon Blades prospect Matthew Dowdall would restore Yale鈥檚 lead shortly after but Avery Watson (1G, 1A) would slam home a rebound to make things 4-4 through forty. The next twenty minutes wouldn鈥檛 see any scoring despite a couple of chances going each way. In overtime, Yale would find themselves on a 2-on-1 in the dying seconds but would fail to convert, leading this game to a shootout to decide who moves on to the Semi-Finals on Saturday. Through the opening five shooters, no one was able to figure out either Nathan Kam (42/46) or Mattias Radke (7/7). Calgary Hitmen prospect Shaun Hildebrandt would break the ice in the sixth round but would be evenly matched by Ty Hynes, extending the shootout. It wouldn鈥檛 be until the 10th round where we would see both teams go tic-for-tac once again as Matthew Dowdall and Cole Fisher would beat their respective goaltenders. Gus Schill would miss his opportunity to apply the pressure on SAHA. Lethbridge Hurricanes prospect William Scott would step up to the plate in the 11th round and wire a snapshot past the glove of Kam to end the marathon. Aden Bouchard (1G, 2A) would put the icing on the cake with an empty net goal shot from 200ft away. Cole Prelusky (34/37) picked up the win between the pipes, recording 34-saves in the winning effort.聽

Yale Hockey Academy (2/OT) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep Western Championships

Regina Pats prospect Cohen Handby got the ball rolling for OHA just over four minutes into play after Ethan Makokis spotted him with a stretch feed before lacing one five hole. OHA would carry the lead into the second until Shaun Hildebrandt wired home Yale鈥檚 first of the evening on a slick entry with Eli Barrett (2A) and Matthew Dowdall. The scoring would take a hiatus in the third as both Nathan Kam (40/41) and Chayse Johnson (44/46) would remain perfect in between the pipes. In overtime, Kamloops Blazers prospect Jacob Dumansky would stop on a dime, shaking an OHA defender off before making a b-line to the net, slipping one through Johnson to clinch Yale鈥檚 first win at the CSSHL Western Championships. Kam was the hero in the crease for Yale, stopping 40-shots in the win. Johnson would also put in a valiant effort, steering 44-shots aside in the hard fought OT loss.

Delta Hockey Academy (7) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U17 Division II Western Championships

An early powerplay goal off the stick of Lincoln Arkinstall (2G) granted Delta the early lead. Emil Najm (2G) would extend Delta鈥檚 lead late in the second but would be quickly matched by NAX鈥檚 Barrett Fogolin (1G, 1A) before the ice clean. The second would almost be a spitting image of what happened in the first with Delta recording an early marker before adding one late with NAX just edging out the score clock before the end of the frame. After forty, the score was 4-2 Delta. Another early two goals for Delta in the third would spell the end for NAX in this contest. Jackson Curle and Clayton Toews were able to score twice in a matter of 19-seconds, but the four goal deficit was too much to overcome. Christian Sum (1G, 1A) would add the extra insurance following Toews鈥 goal, sealing off a 7-4 victory for Delta, improving their record to 2-0-0 in the playoffs.聽

OHA Edmonton (3/OT) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep Western Championships

In the late game, OHA Edmonton and South Alberta Hockey Academy would go the distance. Parker Fitzgerald (1G, 1A) would open the scoring off a deflection to give OHA Edmonton the early lead. However, SAHA鈥檚 Cash Olson would find twine down low to tie things up before the end of the frame. SAHA would ignite the scoring in the second after an Avery Watson wrister found its way through the wickets of Parker Snell (31/33). OHA Edmonton would keep their composure and would eventually find a response in the form of a Calum Giese one-timer from beneath the hash marks to tie this contest back up at 2-2. The third would not witness any scoring so overtime was necessary. SAHA would take a penalty in the extra frame, leading to their demise as Wenatchee Wild prospect, Josh McKague (1G, 1A) wired home the game winner on the powerplay to end off a busy day from Penticton, BC.

For the fourth straight season RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna sits alone atop the Female U18 Prep Division.

The Kelowna, BC side went 29-1-0 in the regular season before going 3-0-0 in the round robin, outscoring their opponents 30-4. After finishing first in Pool A they would play OHA Edmonton (Edmonton, AB) in the semi’s, taking home a 5-1 win.

Delta Hockey Academy Green (Delta, BC) would finish second during the regular season, handing RHA Kelowna their lone loss of the year. They would start their Championships with a loss to South Alberta Hockey Academy (Dunmore, AB), but wins over OHA Edmonton and Shawnigan Lake School (Shawnigan Lake, BC) put them first in Pool B at the end of the round robin. Backed by three power play goal, Delta Green (Delta, BC) beat Edge School (Calgary, AB) 5-2 in the semi’s.

RHA Kelowna controlled the majority of the play in the first but Delta Green had some chances of their own. The period would ultimately end tied 0-0.

The home side would come out hungry in the second, spending a good chunk of the frame in the Delta Green zone while peppering Maisie Cope (43/45) with chance after chance. RHA Kelowna would finally break through when an Ava MacLeod backhand took a fortunate bounce and rolled in over the head over Cope with 8:31 left in the period. Alida Korte would double the lead 1:07 later with a great toe drag release that would beat Cope high glove.

It appeared the flood gates were set to open but Cope and her Delta Green teammates stayed within striking distance. Ultimately, they were unable to generate in the third as Ava Drabyk (17/17) made 17 saves for the shutout.

In their first season in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) Balmoral Hall School has captured the 2025 CSSHL Female U18 Prep Division II Western Championship.

Balmoral (Winnipeg, MB) came into the Division II Championships as the number one seed and that’s how they would finish in the round robin after going 2-0-0 and earning a bye straight to the semi-finals. They would defeat the Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB) 5-1 to earn a spot in the finals.

After coming into the Division II Championships as the five seed, Delta Hockey Academy Black (Delta, BC) went 1-0-1 in the round robin to finish third in pool play. They would beat Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (Pilot Mound, MB) 1-0 in overtime in the quarter-finals before besting Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (Penticton, BC) 4-3 in OT in the semi’s.

The Championship game would start with Balmoral captain Makenna Williment (1G, 1A) opening the scoring 8:13 in with her sixth of the playoffs. Balmoral would double their lead 34 seconds later as Maddie Kaiser (1G, 2A) sprung Madeline McKay (1G, 1A) for a breakaway and McKay made no mistake, beating Nicole Flescher (36/39) five-hole. Maddie Kaiser would extend the lead early in the second period as Balmoral had total control heading into the final frame.

It looked as though Balmoral would coast to victory until Mira Morgan got Delta Black on the board with 2:15 remaining. Abigail Jung would go bar down on Lauren Cherkas (29/31) 1:12 later as the three goal cushion quickly evaporated. Ultimately, Delta Black was unable to generate any zone time, let alone a tying goal, in the final minute as Balmoral held on for the 3-2 win.

It didn鈥檛 take long for Notre Dame to respond with Micah Pimm scoring 4:44 into the frame. CDA put the game out of reach in the first ten minutes of the middle frame, getting goals from Markarian, Skuratov, and Kash Benson. Bennett Byers (29/31) stood tall in CDA鈥檚 net in the last two periods, turning aside all 18 shots he faced. Byers closed out CDA鈥檚 victory with 29 saves. Delta Hockey Academy (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U15 Prep Western Championships Final

Delta Hockey Academy has returned to the top of the mountain, winning the 2025 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) U15 Prep Division I Western Championship for the first time since 2022.

Delta (Delta, BC) would do so by beating the back-to-back defending champion Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB), who won in 2023 and 2024.聽

NAX would cruise through the regular season, finishing in first place in the regular season along with winning the John Reid Memorial tournament. They would go 2-0 in round robin play before dismantling Edge School (Calgary, AB) 6-1 in the quarters, and STAR Hockey Academy (Kent, WA) 3-0 in the semis.

Delta came into the Championships as the four seed while winning the Canadian Crown Tournament in December. They would finish second in Pool A behind NAX to set-up a quarter-final game against RHA Winnipeg (Winnipeg, MB), winning that game with ease. Their semi-final would be a different story as they would play Yale Hockey Academy (Abbotsford, BC) in a game that was scoreless through 60 minutes of play. Casey Pearson would be the hero for Delta, sending them through to the finals with a 1-0 win.聽

Riding the high of their semi-final win, Delta scored 29 seconds in as defenseman Ryker Doka beat Karter Gibson (23/27) from an impossible angle. Top ranked NAX would tie the game midway through the first as Kalen Miles (2G) scored on the power play from a familiar spot in front of the net.聽

Delta would come out flying again in the second as Ronan Gow tipped home a point shot, beating Gibson high blocker 3:05 into the frame. NAX would create a flurry of chances but it was Conor Nicolson (1G, 1A) who extended the lead for Delta, beating Gibson with a shot off the rush. Captain Tripp Fischer (1G, 1A) would add to the lead 59 seconds later, burying a puck in front to put his team up 4-1 heading into the third.聽

But NAX wouldn’t go away quietly as Brady Ondrus beat Jack Utsunomiya (44/47) over the shoulder from a sharp angle 3:29 into the third. Miles would then scoop home another rebound in front 3:27 later as NAX fought back within one with more than 13 minutes left to play.

NAX would continue to apply pressure the remainder of the way but Utsunomiya shut the door to give Delta their second CSSHL U15 Prep Division I Championship.聽

Notre Dame Hounds (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U17 Division II Western Championships

Lincoln Arkinstall鈥檚 late game-winning goal propelled Delta Hockey Academy to a 4-3 win over the Notre Dame Hounds. Emil Najm opened the scoring for Delta 1:20 into the first period. Notre Dame struck back midway through the second period with Jacob Bate and Brandon Thompson scoring twice in 1:47 to help them take a 2-1 advantage. Jack Triance (1G, 1A) bulged the twine late in the period and Ewan Torrance scored early in the third to restore Delta鈥檚 lead. The back-and-forth battle continued with Broker Fox scoring for Notre Dame to tie the game up at three with 3:37 left in regulation. It looked like the game was headed for overtime until Notre Dame took a holding penalty with 1:08 to go. Off the ensuing faceoff, Lincoln Arkinstall (1G, 1A) put home a rebound to give Delta a late lead. Notre Dame had a big chance with eight seconds to go, creating a scramble in front of Delta鈥檚 net but Lynden Mercier (31/34) was able to keep the puck out, preserving Delta鈥檚 win. Mercier turned aside 31 shots for Delta. Joshua Heitman (33/37) made 33 saves for Notre Dame.聽

Megan Norrie (1G, 1A) gave OHA Black the early lead with a power play goal midway through the first period. A few minutes later, Kinleigh Blane (2G) responded for Delta Black, scoring her second goal of the Western Championships. Alice Rapp sent OHA Black into the room on a high note, scoring with 1:11 left in the frame to give them a 2-1 lead. Special teams continued to be a big factor for OHA Black in the second with Morgan Ghag getting the second marker of the game on the power play. Once again, Delta Black replied quickly with Myra Connor scoring 1:17 later to cut the deficit to one heading into the third. Delta Black had two opportunities on the power play in the final frame but OHA Black killed off both penalties. The final minutes were winding down and Delta Black needed a goal to keep their hopes alive. Kinleigh Blane came to the rescue finding a puck that was deflected into the slot and burying it on the glove side to send the game to overtime. In the extra frame, Emma Biros scored a beautiful end-to-end goal, lifting a backhand past the OHA Black netminder to send Delta Black to the Division II Western Championships final. Nicole Flesher (17/20) kicked out 17 shots in Delta Black鈥檚 win. Ryann Faulkner (28/32) made 28 saves for OHA Black. Delta Hockey Academy Black will face off against Balmoral Hall School in the Division II final tomorrow.聽

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep Division II Western Championships Final

Okanagan Hockey Academy beat Pilot Mound Hockey Academy 4-2 on Tuesday to capture the 2025 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) U15 Prep Division II Western Championship.

Pilot Mound (Pilot Mound, MB) and OHA (Penticton, BC) came into the U15 Prep Division II Western Championships as the number one and two seed. Both teams would go 2-0 in the round robin to earn byes straight to the semi-finals. In the semis, Pilot Mound would crush the North Shore Warriors (North Vancouver, BC) 7-1, while OHA destroyed Notre Dame (Wilcox, SK) 9-0.

OHA outshot Pilot Mound 14-7 but it wasn’t until 1:18 left in the period that they put one up on the scoreboard as Cohen Short found Gage Mark (1G, 2A) backdoor for the tap-in goal. Maddox Ramage (2G) would tie the game 1:33 into the second period, as he fired the puck from the corner towards the front of the net where it bounced off an OHA defender and in. Henrik Alexander-Ward restored the OHA lead midway through the period as his shot snuck through under the arm of Yuki Kido (57/60) and trickled into the net.

Ramage would tie the game once again 7:11 into the second, cleaning up a loose puck in front after a great individual effort from Cole Landreville. OHA continued to drastically outshoot Pilot Mound leading to Nathan Marques (1G, 1A) taking a feed from Mark and burying it short side on Kido. From there, Maddox Slater (23/25) stopped every shot he faced and Ryder Young sank an empty netter with 33 seconds left to secure the OHA victory.

Ulysse Academie (2) vs Stanstead College (3/OT) East U18

Ryan Dwyer鈥檚 three-point performance lifted Stanstead College to a 3-2 overtime victory over Ulysse Academie. Dwyer (2G, 1A) got Stanstead on the board, scoring his ninth goal of the season just over eight minutes into the opening period. Ulysse fought back in the second with Marco Campo (1G, 1A) blasting a slap shot past the Stanstead goalie on Ulysse鈥檚 fourth power play of the period. With just under five minutes to go in the period, Campo set up Giuliano Leuzzi鈥檚 go-ahead goal on an odd-man advantage to send Ulysse into the room with a 2-1 lead. In the first minute of third, Stanstead took advantage of a defensive zone turnover by Ulysse. Dwyer picked up the loose puck, got past the last man back, and slid it over to Zackarie Michaud (1G, 1A) who slotted it into the wide-open net to tie the game up. The two goalies stood tall for the rest of regulation, sending the game to an extra frame. Stanstead dominated overtime and would be rewarded for it. Michaud and Dwyer鈥檚 quick passing would be too much for Ulysse to handle, allowing Dwyer to tap in the game-winning goal. Jacob Leblanc (21/23) stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced in Stanstead鈥檚 victory. Virgil Sausset (32/35) turned aside 32 shots for Ulysse.聽

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs Balmoral Hall School (5) Female U18 Prep Division II Western Championships Semi-Final

Madeline McKay’s five-point effort helped Balmoral Hall School advance to the Division II Western Championship Final with a 5-1 win over the Northern Alberta Xtreme. McKay鈥檚 (2G, 3A) big day began early, scoring her first goal 2:20 into the opening frame to give Balmoral Hall an early advantage. Just before the buzzer sounded, McKay struck again, doubling Balmoral Hall鈥檚 lead by putting home her second goal of the contest with 14 seconds left in the first. Makenna Williment (2G, 1A) starred in the second, getting a power play marker and scoring at even-strength in a 3:04 span to give Balmoral Hall a 4-0 lead. Isabella Ruppo got one back for NAX early in third with her second goal of the Western Championships. Maddie Kaiser (1G, 1A) put an exclamation point on Balmoral Hall鈥檚 victory, scoring with just under eight minutes to go in the third. Cherkas stopped 31 of the 32 shots she faced for Balmoral Hall. Edge School (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) Female U18 Prep Western Championships Semi-Final

Following a scoreless first in the Female U18 Prep Division I semi-finals between Edge and Delta Green, Brooklyn Deck would score from a sharp angle, beating Maisie Cope (27/29) over the glove. Delta Green would continue to apply pressure in the second, finally beating Alexis Ehrman (21/22) just past the 15-minute mark of the second courtesy of Niayah Morris. Edge School would take a major penalty at the end of the second, leaving Delta Green with five-minutes of 5-on-4 to start the third鈥 and they would not let it go to waste, scoring three times in 69-seconds to establish a 4-1 lead. Edge would show some pushback later in the frame as Abby Lee wired home their second goal, but that鈥檚 all that would find its way past Cope in this contest. Molly Cole (2G) would supply the empty netter to seal up the semi-final, sending Delta Green back to the finals, their first time since 2022.

OHA Edmonton (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) Female U18 Prep Western Championships Semi-Final

Outshooting OHA Edmonton 16-3 in the first, RHA Kelowna had a 2-0 upperhand through twenty with goals coming off the sticks of Makena Lloyd-Howe (2G) and Jillian McLaughlin. RHA Kelowna continued to surge in the second, not giving OHA Edmonton a lick of space, increasing their lead to three with another goal courtesy of Lloyd-Howe. Ava McDermid would open the scoring in the third, making that four unanswered goals for RHA Kelowna since puck drop. However, Joecyln Bodnar鈥檚 first of the postseason would put OHA Edmonton on the board a mere 8-seconds after McDermid found twine. Unfortunately for OHA Edmonton, any shrivel of momentum was lost soon after as Kilah Hodder (1G, 1A) grabbed her first goal and fifth point of the postseason to restore RHA Kelowna鈥檚 four goal advantage. RHA Kelowna would book their ticket to the finals where they will compete with Delta Green for their fourth straight championship in the Female U18 Prep division. Ava Antle (45/50) didn鈥檛 make it easy for them, steering aside 45-shots in the hard fought battle.

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U17 Division II Western Championships

Coeur d鈥橝lene started Monday鈥檚 game off jumping, going up 2-0 through twenty after a pair of goals from Michael Veneziano (2G). However, NAX would find their stride in the second, outscoring CDA 4-2 with a quick pair of goals from Chace Smith (2G, 1A). That left things tied up at four a piece entering the third, where we would see a deadlock in scoring. NAX would fire their fair share of chances and with just over a minute and a half remaining, Kegan Power (1G, 1A) would break the silence, giving NAX the go ahead lead which they would go on to hold on to, clinching their first win at the CSSHL Western Championships.
