Former Yale Hockey Academy defenseman Graham Sward has signed an AHL Contract with the Manitoba Moose.

The Abbotsford, BC product spent two seasons in the CSSHL with Yale’s U15 Prep team. During the 2016/17 season he would tally 9 points in 30 games. The following campaign Sward finished with 18 points in 26 games, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 17th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.

Sward joined the Chiefs in 2019/20, playing in 55 games and recording 17 points. The following year he would play in just 11 games but the Nashville Predators would select him in the fifth round, 146th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.

He would begin the 2022/23 season with the Chiefs, playing eight games with the team before being moved to the Winnipeg Ice. Sward would finish the season with 33 points in 52 games with the Ice, adding 12 more points in 19 playoff games.

This past season Sward had 15 goals and 66 assists in 66 games with the Wenatchee Wild, earning him WHL (US) First All-Star Team honours.

The Moose have assigned Sward to the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals to begin the 2024/25 season.

12 former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athletes have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2024 U17 World Challenge.

The tournament, which is set to take place November 3-9 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia, ON, will see 44 players represent Team Canada White and Team Canada Red.

Among the 44 players selected are 15 from the WHL, 12 of which played in the CSSHL including 2023 and 2024 WHL Draft first overall picks Daxon Rudolph and Landon DuPont. After joining fellow CSSHL alumnus Connor Bedard as the only two players in WHL History to receive Exceptional Status, DuPont is the lone 2009 born player on the Team Canada rosters.

The 12 CSSHL alumni represent six different CSSHL member programs: Okanagan Hockey Academy (3), RHA Kelowna (3), Edge School (2), Northern Alberta Xtreme (2), Delta Hockey Academy, and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy.

This will be the second time Lin, Preston, L. Ruck, M. Ruck, Rudolph, and Verhoeff represent Team Canada, having previously done so at the 2024 Youth Olympics.

The 2024 U17 World Challenge kicks off on November 3, with Canada White taking on Czechia at 3:30 p.m. ET and Canada Red facing off against Finland at 7:30 p.m. ET. Teams will play two preliminary-round games before the medal round, which concludes on Nov. 9 with the medal games, as well as the fifth-place game. The event will also feature pre-tournament games in Sarnia, Petrolia and Forest on November 1.

The 2023 U17 World Challenge saw 13 CSSHL alumni compete for Team Canada Red and White.聽

The Maple Ridge, BC defender joined Delta for the 2022/23 U15 AAA season where he recorded 9 points in 27 games. The following U15 Prep campaign he had 5 goals and 13 assists in 24 games with Delta Green,

Roberts will suit-up for the Delta U17 Prep team during the 2024/25 season.

The Chiefs selected Roberts in the fourth round, 74th overall at the 2024 WHL Draft.

CSSHL student-athletes Levi Benson and Harry Mattern have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with their respective teams.

Benson was selected in the sixth round, 118th overall at the 2022 WHL Draft but his rights were traded to the Kelowna Rockets on June 25. Having gave up a second, third and conditional sixth round pick to acquire Benson, the Rockets signed the Chilliwack, BC forward. Benson joined the CSSHL in 2020/21 with the Yale Hockey Academy U15 team. The following U15 Prep season he would tally 28 points in 30 games. During the 2022/23 season he would lead all U17 Prep skaters with 47 assists and 63 points, being named a finalist for the CSSHL U17 Prep MVP Award. This season Benson finished second on his Yale U18 Prep team with 50 points in 29 games.

A defenseman from Sherwood Park, AB, Mattern joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) for the 2022/23 season. He would record 34 points in 27 games as he was named the CSSHL U15 Top Defenseman. He would add seven points in five playoff games as NAX captured the 2023 CSSHL U15 Western Championship. This season he would tally 13 points in 25 games, and an additional 7 points in 5 playoff games, helping NAX capture the 2024 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship, their second in as many years. The Spokane Chiefs selected Mattern in the second round, 34th overall at the 2024 WHL Draft.

Four CSSHL student-athletes have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with their respective teams.

Rowan Guest has spent the last two seasons with the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (PCHA) U18 Prep team. In 60 career games the Saskatoon, SK defenseman recorded 17 goals and 38 assists. Guest has signed with the Kelowna Rockets after they selected him in the 11th round at the 2021 WHL Draft.

Undrafted to the WHL, Connor Pankratz will join Guest, having signed with the Rockets. The West Vancouver, BC forward started his CSSHL career in 2019/20 with the North Shore Warriors U15 team, capturing a CSSHL U15 Western Championship. He would move to St. George’s the following season, spending one season each with the U15 Prep and U17 Prep teams before playing for their U18 Prep team the last two years. He finished the 2023/24 season with 48 points in 29 games as captain of the U18 Prep team.

A forward from Kelowna, BC, Cameron Norrie has played the last four seasons in the CSSHL. He joined Okanagan Hockey Academy in 2020/21 playing one season each with their U15, U15 Prep and U16 Prep teams. During the 2023/24 season he joined the RHA Kelowna U18 Prep team, tallying 34 points in 30 games. Undrafted to the WHL, Norrie has signed with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

A fourth round pick by the Spokane Chiefs at the 2023 WHL Draft, Rhett Sather spent the 2023/24 season with the Calgary International Hockey Academy (CIHA) U17 Prep team. In 29 games the Cochrane, AB defender tallied 10 goals and 20 assists. He added two assists in five playoff games as CIHA captured the 2024 CSSHL U17 Prep Western Championship title.

On January 29, 2024, Delta Hockey Academy forward Dane Pyatt signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Spokane Chiefs.

A ninth round, 181st overall 2022 WHL Draft pick by the Chiefs, Pyatt is now in his fourth season in the CSSHL with Delta. The Langley, BC forward joined the program in 2020/21 recording nine points in five U15 games.

The following U15 Prep season with Delta Greem Pyatt tallied 10 goals and 16 assists in 30 games before adding 7 points in 5 playoff games to help his team capture the 2022 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship.

Last season Pyatt recorded 18 goals and 15 assists in 32 games, finishing fourth on his U17 Prep team with 33 points.

In 22 U18 Prep games this season Pyatt has 5 goals and 11 assists.

Pankey spent the 2019/20 CSSHL season with the Pursuit of Excellence (POE) U15 Prep team. In 28 games the Spokane, WA defenseman recorded 1 goal and 1 assist. Pankey has signed with the Wenatchee Wild, and has since played two WHL games with the club.

A netminder from Invermere, BC, Tamelin has spent the last three seasons in the CSSHL with Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA). Tamelin would join OHA for the 2021/22 U16 Prep season, playing in 13 games. He would spend last season with their U17 Prep team, playing 19 games and recording a 2.35 GAA, .928 SV%, and a 12-4-2 record with 2 shutouts.

This season Tamelin has played 7 games with a 6-1-0 record, 1.71 GAA, .938 SV% and 2 shutouts, earning him the CSSHL U18 Prep Division October Player of the Month. Tamelin has signed with the Victoria Royals after originally being selected in the ninth round, 183rd overall at the 2021 WHL Draft by the Spokane Chiefs.

Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Saige Weinstein has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Colorado Avalanche.

Weinstein went undrafted at the 2023 NHL Draft, but was signed by the Avalanche last week.

The Edmonton, AB defenseman spent the 2019/20 CSSHL U15 Prep season with NAX. In 23 games he tallied 4 goals and 16 assists, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 18th overall at the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

Weinstein is now in his third WHL season with the Chiefs. In 124 career games he has tallied 5 goals and 27 assists.

The Spokane Chiefs have signed both of their first round picks from the 2023 Western Hockey League (WHL) Drafts last week to

The Chiefs selected Brody Gillespie first overall at the WHL U.S. Priority Draft and Mathis Preston third overall at the WHL Prospects Draft.

Gillespie spent the 2022/23 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) season with the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna U15 Prep team. In 28 games the Portland, OR forward finished 10th in league scoring with 54 points in 28 games.

Preston has spent the last two seasons in the CSSHL U15 Prep division with Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA). During the 2021/22 campaign Preston finished with 15 goals and 14 assists in 22 games played. This season the Penticton, BC forward finished third in league scoring with 81 points in 26 games.
