Located in the country-side west of Montreal, QC and within an hour of the Ottawa, ON area, Westlake Bourget College entered the Â鶹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú in 2019.

EDUCATION

What are some of the things your program does to provide educational support?

“We have a structured academic environment with a renowned pedagogy and support structure, with a mandatory daily study period after school, including SAT preparatory instruction.â€

How are courses and the graduation path for student athletes chosen?

“Courses are chosen with guidance counsellors and academic advisors, taking into account their direction of study, NCAA eligibility requirements and more.â€

 

RESIDENTIAL LIFE

Do you offer a billeting program or a dormitory for non-local student athletes?

“We have residence on campus with live-in dorm parents. Student’s who require seven-day accommodations will stay with a carefully vetted billet family on weekends they are not away for hockey.â€

What kind of life skills to the student athletes learn by living in the dorms?

“Campus life activities are constantly organized. Living away from home teaches many of the life skills that one requires to mature into a young man. You are required to make decisions, remain organized, adapt and be accountable.â€

 

STUDENT ATHLETE HEALTH

How are injuries and sick student athletes monitored?

“We have a thorough process that starts with baseline testing and assessments at the start of the season, and we work with a team of respected therapists and doctors. We work in a timely manner and have constant communication with student athletes, parents, along with school and hockey staff. We have access to a conditioning centre, gymnasium, pool, infirmary, and treatment centresâ€

 

SCHEDULE

What does the daily schedule look like for a Westlake Bourget College student athlete?

“We have a hockey block in the morning, followed by school from 11am-4pm. We then have another hockey block, followed by dinner and then a study hall.â€

How many games can your teams expect to play?

“Our teams can expect to play 50-60 games every season, which includes the CSSHL regular season and Championships, our USA league’s regular season and playoffs, exhibition games, and tournaments.â€

What does the on and off ice training look like?

“Depending on the time of the year, we have constant focus on growing each individual. Individual testing, evaluation and assessments occur three times per year. We are a development first program and all decisions are made with the best interests of our student athletes in-mind. Everyone wants to win, but we are NOT a win-at-all-costs program.â€

What is included in the price to attend Westlake Bourget College?

“The only items not included in our price are school related such as an iPad or laptop, school uniform and any necessary school busing needs (outside of hockey). Our prices are $27,500 for a day student, $35,570 for a five-day boarding student, $41,380 for a seven-day boarding student and $49,130 for an international student.â€
