CSSHL Set to Use MYHockey Rankings

In a continued effort to adapt and reach its maximum potential, the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) has made MYHockey Rankings an official partner and supplier for the 2024/25.

Originally launched during the 2003/04 season, MYHockey has long been using mathematical data, with no subjective weighting, to rank teams among leagues all across North America.

While CSSHL teams have always been included in these rankings, for the 2024/25 season MYHockey will compute a rankings system based solely among games played between CSSHL teams. These rankings will then be used to reflect the standings for both CSSHL Ranked Showcases and the CSSHL Western and Eastern Championships.

鈥淎fter extensive research the CSSHL is excited to partner with MYHockey Rankings,鈥 said CSSHL COO Kevin Goodwin. 鈥淲ith the dynamic and size of our league and continued expansion of many of our divisions we have been looking for a way to accurately reflect our standings and believe MYHockey will allow us to do so.鈥

鈥淢YHockey computes an average performance rating for each team based upon how well they play against other teams and how good those teams are. There are two real inputs to this rating, they are “AGD” or average goal differential and “SCHED” or strength of schedule. AGD is currently calculated by accumulating the goal differential of each game, to a maximum of 7, and then dividing it by the number of games played. The strength of schedule is computed by averaging the rating of each game opponent. AGD and SCHED are then added together to compute a team’s official rating. A team’s rating typically is not reflective of the team’s best or worst games, but a mathematically computed average performance rating that translates game scores into a numeric representation of team performance,鈥 says the MYHockey Ranking鈥檚 website.

鈥淭he CSSHL is one of the premier leagues in North America. We are excited to partner with them on league rankings for the 2024/25 season. The CSSHL鈥檚 focus on player development and competitive games is a perfect fit with MHR’s performance-based algorithm. The league only rankings will be able to accurately take into account the CSSHL’s league scheduling to ensure teams are properly seeded for league playoffs at the end of the season,鈥 said Neil Lodin, founder of MYHockey Rankings.

The first MYHockey Ranking will be made available to the public on October 9, allowing for the implementation of the first few weeks of CSSHL gameplay. The rankings will then be updated every Wednesday morning for the remainder of the season and shared publicly to both social media and the official CSSHL website.

124 teams and more than 2,000 student-athletes will participate in more than 2,100 games across 8 divisions during the 2024/25 CSSHL regular season.听

Mount Academy U18 will host King’s Edgehill School U18 in the first game of the new campaign. The Eastern U18 match-up will take place at the Eliyahu Wellness Center in North Rustico, PEI on September 13, 2024 at 2:30pm AT.
