GAME DAY RECAP: December 3-5, 2024

Lower Canada College (2) vs Kuper Academy (5) East U17

Luca Carlomusto and Kareem Baig-Mirza (1G, 1A) scored back-to-back goals to give Kuper Academy a 2-0 lead. Harry Miller (2G) would counter for Lower Canada College, scoring twice in a span of four seconds to close out the final 20 seconds of the first. Aadi Patel and Thomas Brereton would score second period goals for Kuper to put them ahead 4-2 going into the final frame. Malkin Pierre added a power play goal 59 seconds into the third to extend the Kuper Advantage in what ended as a 5-2 win.听

Ulysse Academie (2) vs Bishop鈥檚 College School (3) East U18

Tomas Sedlacik鈥檚 (2G) first goal of the season 7:15 in gave Bishop鈥檚 a 1-0 lead. Marco Campo tied the game midway through the period but Sedlacik restored the lead 38 seconds later. Timofey Williams (36/38) and Thomas Paquet (32/35) kept clean sheets in the second as it remained a one goal game heading into the final period. Thomy Di Lauro tied the game with 9:55 left, scoring his first goal of the season. The tie was broken shortly after as Zach Jockers scored his fourth goal of the season 2:28 later to put Bishop鈥檚 back on top. They would hold off a Ulysse push that included 19 third period shots to earn the 3-2 win.听

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U15 Prep

A goal by Cole Landreville (2G) just 35 seconds in gave Pilot Mound an early lead but RHA Winnipeg led 3-1 after 20 as Markus Knaub (1G, 1A) scored his eighth and Conner Lamb (2G) and Cohen Hlady scored 33 seconds apart. Maddox Ramage (1G, 1A) and Zac Howell traded goals in the second as RHA Winnipeg was up by two going into the third. Landreville would bring Pilot Mound within one less than four minutes into the third before Lamb restored the two goal cushion and Noah Hawkins (39/42) made 12 third period saves to give RHA Winnipeg the 5-3 win.听

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2/OT) vs St. Mary鈥檚 Academy (1) Female U18 Prep

After a scoreless first period Jayden Quinn scored late in the second period to give Pilot Mound a lead heading into the final 20. Hudson Bradley would level the score on the power play with her second goal of the season. Rehn Hall (32/33) and Sasha Coutu (20/22) would stand tall for the remainder of regulation to send the game to OT where Sadie Swanton picked an ideal time to score her first of the season, giving Pilot Mound the 2-1 win.听

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep

Keegan Bragnalo (2G) and Isaac Sousa (1G, 1A) scored 1:04 apart midway through the first to give RHA Winnipeg a 2-0 advantage going into the second. Jack Perrier (2G) got PMHA on the board early in the second before Christian Pitz and Brody Wytinck (1G, 1A) traded goals just seconds apart. Bragnalo and Gavin Quennelle (1G, 2A) added second period goals for RHA Winnipeg as they led 5-2 after 40. Perrier would score shorthanded early in the third and Jack Adams added an even strength goal as Pilot Mound clawed within one. However, Madden Van Kemenade would score his fifth of the season 57 seconds later to give RHA Winnipeg some breathing room and they would hold on for the 6-4 win. Chase Charriere (40/44) and Barrett Hayes (46/52) were in net for their respective teams.听

Prairie Hockey Academy (11) vs Notre Dame Hounds (0) U18 Prep

Prairie outshot Notre Dame 60-19 en route to an 11-0 win Wednesday. Benson Hirst opened the scoring just 48 seconds in to set the tone in the lopsided victory. Henry Thunderblanket (3G, 2A) recorded a hat-trick while Kale Pratte (1G, 3A) added four points to pace the Prairie offence. Affiliate player Karter Hilbig (19/19) made 19 saves to record the shutout.听

St. George鈥檚 School (7) vs Shawnigan Lake School (1) U18 Prep

It was a disappointing Teddy Bear Toss game for Shawnigan as the home crowd wasn鈥檛 able to let it rain bears until the dying minutes of the third period when Nigel Alberts got Shawnigan on the board. At that time St. George鈥檚 was already up 6-0 as Harshaan Kaila (2G, 1A), who was the St. George鈥檚 Teddy Bear Toss hero a few nights ago, scored twice in the first before Eddy Spytz (1G, 2A), Sam Auld (1G, 1A), Emil Ahopelto (2G) and Charlie Weaver all found the back of the net. Ahopelto would add a late goal with one second left to round out the scoring. Austin Ball (37/38) and Will Stonehouse (39/46) were in net for their respective teams.听

Edge School (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U15 Prep

Drake Davis gave Edge the lead just 28 seconds into the game with his second goal of the season. Drew Wilkinson doubled the lead midway through the period, though RHA Winnipeg had a quick response as Nolan Brunel found the back of the net less than two minutes later. Athens Shingoose (1G, 2A) scored the lone second period goal on the power play 4:38 into the frame to tie the game heading into the third. Grayson Bauer restored the Edge lead 1:52 into the third and Charlie Tobin (1G, 1A) put his team up by two with 3:45 remaining. Conner Lamb would score a power play goal with 1:01 left as RHA Winnipeg looked to make a late push but Delano Pockar (31/34) finished with 31 saves to secure the Edge win. DJ Mecas (41/45) was charged with the loss.听

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) vs Edge School (9) U15

Luke Bodtker (4G, 2A) and Brody Antignani (2G, 3A) scored first period goals as Edge held a 2-0 advantage. Edge would explode for six in the second, including Bodtker scoring three more times. James Butterwick and Ryder Olford traded goals in the third to close out a 9-2 Edge win. Caden Stanley (10/12) and Blake Mitchell (80/89) were in net for their respective teams.听

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U15

Patrick Curtis (41/42) and Santi Schyns-Munoz (42/44) kept clean sheets in the first as the game remained tied 0-0 late into the second period. Bode Strong would break the deadlock with a power play goal with 2:40 left to get Notre Dame on the board. Notre Dame would hold the lead until 7:45 left when Tristan Reimer (1G, 1A) tied the game with his 15th of the season. Noah Delaurier (1G, 1A) would give Prairie their first lead with 2:54 remaining and an empty netter by Ivey Vermeulen (1G, 1A) secured the Prairie comeback win.
