GAME DAY RECAP: February 5, 2023

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs RHA Kelowna (13) U15 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna fired 64 shots on the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy net in the game, hitting double-digits on the scoreboard. Joe Iginla had a goal and four assists, Cage Smith scored twice and added three helpers, Keaton Verhoeff had two goals and two assists, Owen McCarthy had a goal and three assists and Giorgos Pantelas added four helpers in the game. Calder Barry made 20 saves to record the shutout between the pipes for RHAK.

BWC Academy (6) vs Notre Dame (2) U17 Prep

Ashton Beriana had a three-point game with a goal and two assists for BWC Academy, while Daniel Tong and Hunter Henry added a goal and a helper each. Will Shepard, Daniel Morozov and Brett Peebles added solo tallies to round it out. Notre Dame had contributions from Bowman Klippenstein and Carter Graw in the loss.

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (6)听 vs Wenatchee Wild 16U (0) U17 Prep

Alex Clark led the way for Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy registering a hat-trick and adding an assist. Riley Nadell scored twice and added a helper, Verners Veinbergs added a solo tally and Brody Asuchak had three assists in the game. Zane Hill turned aside all 40 shots he faced to pick up the win and record the shutout for CDA.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) vs BWC Academy (3) U15 Prep

Okanagan Hockey Academy were perfect on the powerplay (2/2) and had big games from Mathis Preston, who scored twice and notched two assists, while Liam Ruck registered a hat-trick, and now has 38 goals on the season. Markus Ruck scored his 17th goal of the season for BWC Academy and added two assists in the win.

Prairie Hockey Academy (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

The game was scoreless through two periods of play but both teams hit the scoresheet in the third. Jacob Selent scored his 12th goal of the season via the powerplay to give Okanagan Hockey Academy the lead, but Prairie Hockey Academy answered back moments later with a tying marker from Aidan Vallance. Charlie Grant scored twice in the final minute of regulation to ultimately win it for OHA.听

OHA Edmonton (1) vs St. George’s School (3) U18 Prep

St. George鈥檚 School generated 59 shots in the game, with goal contributions from Zach Zapanta, Ethan Buckland and Rui Han, who also added an assist. Jaden Sharma stopped 24 of 25 shots for the Saints, with the lone goal for OHA Edmonton coming off the stick of Harrison Boldt.

Wenatchee Wild 18U (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Jace Shuttleworth registered a hat-trick for Okanagan Hockey Academy, Brendan Olson notched a goal and added an assist, and Presley Kerner added a solo tally to round it out. Nathan Preston picked up the win between the pipes for OHA, turning aside 21 of 22 shots he faced, with the lone goal for Wenatchee scored by Zane Irion.听

Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) vs BWC Academy (1) U16 Prep

Jacob Leamy got the scoring started for Okanagan Hockey Academy, notching his second goal of the season, but BWC Academy tied the game late in the first period with a powerplay goal from Shaenen Long. Bradley Schmidt scored his 20th goal of the season which held up as the game winner, and Ruben Stone scored his fifth of the season into the empty-net to put the game out of reach for OHA. Conner Nicolson picked up the decision in net, making 20 saves to register the win.

St. George’s School (6) vs Edge School (2) U15 Prep

It was a heavyweight tilt between two tough teams, as St. George鈥檚 School skated away with the win. Kanjyu Gojsic had a four-point game with two goals and two assists, Brock Cripps scored and added two helpers, while Eli Barrett had three assists in the game. Eric Tu made 44 saves to pick up his 11th win of the season between the pipes.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) vs OHA Edmonton (6/SO) U15

The game was tied 5-5 after regulation which eventually led to a shootout to determine a winner. Maxx Parfitt led the way for Okanagan Hockey Academy with a hat-trick and an assist, while Tyson Chrunik responded with a hat-trick performance of his own for OHA Edmonton. The third shooter in the shootout, Liam Morison scored the game-winner for OHA Edmonton.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs Edge School (4) U15

Jaeger John scored his 20th goal of the season via the powerplay in the first period for NAX, but four unanswered goals from Edge School proved to be the difference. Nathan Cole answered back on the powerplay to tie the game with his 21st goal, Mirco Dufour added two tallies in the second period and now has 29 on the season, and Reeve Waugh scored his fifth into the empty-net to seal it for Edge.听

Shawnigan Lake School (4) vs OHA Edmonton (7) U15 Prep

Radislav Dimitrov had a four-point afternoon for OHA Edmonton with a goal and three assists, while on the other side, Eli McKamey scored twice and added an assist for Shawnigan Lake School. Jake MacDonald scored his 21st goal of the season for OHAE, which held up as the game-winner while Rowan Houweling made 24 saves to pick up the win.听

Notre Dame (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (6) U18 Prep

Sam Bailey and Cole Patterson both scored twice in the game for Shawnigan Lake School, while Brady Seabrook and Jonatan Raatikainen picked up a goal and an assist each in the win. Finn Carlstedt added two goals of his own for Notre Dame in the loss.听

Edge School (4) vs St. George’s School (1) U17 Prep

Logan Murray led the charge for Edge School, scoring the opening goal in the game and adding two more in the second period to register the hat-trick. Oliver Kramp added a short-handed goal in the third period to put the game out of reach. Jungsoo Park turned aside 32 of 33 shots to pick up the win between the pipes, with the solo tally for St. George鈥檚 scored by Charlie Weaver.

Shawnigan Lake School (6) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (3) U17 Prep

Shawnigan Lake School fired 62 shots towards the Indigenous Sports Academy net in the game, coming away with their 13th win of the season. Marcus Hughes had a three-point effort with two goals and an assist, while Cole Mekelburg, Brendyn Van Oene and Chase Kittlesonhad a goal and an assist each for Shawnigan Lake School. Tayvian Delorme scored twice and added an assist for Indigenous Sports Academy in the loss.

RHA Winnipeg (3) vs BWC Academy (4) U18 Prep

Josh McGregor opened the scoring for RHA Winnipeg midway through the first before Ryder Mcintosh (1G, 1A) tied the game for BWC Academy. Nate Crema and Liam Payne would score less than two minutes apart in the second as BWC Academy led 3-1 heading into the third. Peyton Pieczko and Owen Martin (1G, 1A) would each score powerplay goals for RHA Winnipeg in the third to tie the game but a late goal by Ty Coupland (1G, 2A) gave BWC Academy a 4-3 win.听

Shawnigan Lake School U18 (8) vs Delta Hockey Academy U17 (0) Female U18 Prep

Mikayla Boarder (2G, 2A) and Morgan Jackson (2G, 3A) each scored twice and Alex Nelson (26/26) made 26 saves to earn the shutout as Shawnigan defeated Delta 8-0. Mya Lawrence (1G, 2A) and Gracie Szadkowski (1G, 2A) had three point games in the win. Alix Walchuk (45/53) made 43 saves in the loss.听

Delta Hockey Academy Green (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4/OT) U15 Prep

Ryan Lin and Suhaan Nagra scored first period goals as Delta led 2-0 after 20. Nolan Stewart (1G, 2A) and Tucker Tullikopf (1G, 1A) would respond for NAX within the first five minutes of the second period. Nate Barclay would regive Delta the lead but Daxon Rudolph would score just 20 seconds later to tie it. After a scoreless third, Maddox Rose (1G, 1A) scored with 17 seconds remaining in OT to give NAX a 4-3 win.听

North Shore Warriors (0) vs RHA Kelowna (6) U15

Grady Monsen (1G, 2A) and Kesler Hamilton (2G) scored the lone first and second period goals before RHA Kelowna exploded for four goals in the third. Logan Arnold would score just 33 seconds into the final frame while Ryan Sadovia (1G, 1A), Hamilton and Ronin Martin (1G, 1A) would all find the back of the net as well. Cohen Fowler (21/21) made 21 saves for the shutout while Oscar Hicik (45/51) stopped 45 shots in the loss.听

Yale Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy (2) U15

After a scoreless first Sam Shepard scored the lone second period goal just 54 seconds into the middle frame. Adrian Comeau would tie the game 8:34 into the third but with just 1:23 remaining Ryan Fox would score his 13th goal of the season to give BWC Academy a 2-1 win. Cash Christie (30/31) made 30 stops in the win. Aiden Lazazzera (31/33) faced 33 shots in net for Yale.听

Notre Dame (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (8) U15 Prep

Defenseman Koray Bozkaya (3G) recorded a hattrick while Ethan Caruso (1G, 3A) and Brayden Ryan-Mackay (2G, 2A) led all skaters with four points as Yale defeated Notre Dame 8-1. Carson Laing (13/14) faced just 14 shots in the win, with Mathieu Guenette finding the back of the net in the first period for Notre Dame.听

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U18 Prep

Jack Ketsa opened the scoring for NAX with his third goal of the season. Jackson Bessette would score 3:16 into the second to extend the lead before Landon Mackie (1G, 1A) would get PCHA on the board 10 minutes later. Owen Berge would respond for NAX exactly one minute later and Walker Overwater would add his eighth goal of the season less than two minutes later. Jace McFaul (1G, 1A) would score on the powerplay in the third to give PCHA some life but Spencer Michnik (17/19) would shut the door for the remaining two minutes of the game.听

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Yale Hockey Academy (9) U17 Prep

Domenik McInenly (16/16) made 16 saves as he earned his second shutout of the season in a 9-0 Yale win. Alexandre Jacques (2G, 1A) scored twice while Tommy Lafreniere (1G, 3A) led all skaters with four points. Lucas Biros (1G, 2A) and Kainoah Brankovic (1G, 2A) each tallied three points in the win. Quinn Burfoot (38/47) faced 47 shots in the loss.听

OHA Edmonton (3/SO) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep

After a scoreless first Nick Scott scored his fourth goal of the season 5:09 into the second period. Damien Fraser would extend the lead just two minutes later with a powerplay marker. Keanan Pearman would respond with a powerplay goal of his own with just five seconds remaining in the second period. The OHA Edmonton powerplay would strike once more in the third as Reece Hicks found the back of the net, tying the game with 3:50 remaining. After Corbin Sanderman (43/45) and Koen Cleaver (33/35) turned aside one shot apiece in overtime, Pearman and Maddox Fisher would score in the shootout to give OHA Edmonton a 3-2 win.听

Yale Hockey Academy (3) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep

Ethan Eskit (32/32) turned aside all 32 shots he faced as Yale defeated Prairie 3-0 Sunday. Savin Virk would score what would turn out to be the game winner just 16 seconds into the first. Justin Ivanusec would add another Yale goal late in the second and a Michael Dowdall empty net goal with 1:08 remaining would secure the Yale victory. Liam Ernst (28/30) was in net for Prairie in the loss.听

RHA Kelowna (4) vs North Shore Warriors (5/OT) U16 Prep

Gavin Huynh scored just 27 seconds in for North Shore before Owen Downey found the back of the net while shorthanded to tie the game. Tristen Bailey (2G) would score on the powerplay for RHA Kelowna just two minutes later but the game would enter the second tied 2-2 as Blake Medalla (1G, 1A) responded for North Shore. Rylan Krawietz (1G, 1A) and Cameron Collins (1G, 1A) would score early second period goals for NSW before Bailey got one back for RHA Kelowna late in the second while on the powerplay. Ryder Mead (1G, 1A) would tie the game with just 2:28 remaining to force OT where Cody Lee would score to give North Shore the win.听

Delta Hockey Academy (7) vs St. George’s School (2) U15

Delta outshot St. George鈥檚 53-36 in a 7-2 win Sunday. Lynden Mercier (34/36) made 34 saves, Kishan Saggu (3G) recorded a hattrick and Alexander Laing (2G, 1A), Brennan Lovitt (3A) and Christian Sum (1G, 2A) all recorded three points in the win. Byron Chin and Josh Gravistin scored for St. George鈥檚 in the loss.听

RHA Kelowna (1) vs Edge School (0) U18 Prep

Preston Patenaude (49/49) made 49 saves as RHA Kelowna shutout Edge in a 1-0 victory. Cameron Schmidt scored the lone goal, unassisted midway through the second period. Ben Polhill (27/28) made 27 saves for Edge in the loss.听

Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U17 Prep

Jaxen Gauchier (3G) would record a hattrick and Brayden Klimpke (1G, 1A), and Luke Powell would find the back of the net as NAX held a commanding 5-0 lead after 40. But Delta would fight back in the third with Cole Brown (1G, 1A), Owen Cooper and Dane Pyatt all beating Ryan Grout (25/28), who had two assists in the win. Ultimately, NAX would hold on and earn a 5-3 win.听

Delta Hockey Academy (5) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Bennet Muller and Rajun Parmar scored less than two minutes apart early in the first as Delta raced out to a 2-0 lead. Julien Laqua would get SAHA on the board 58 seconds into the third but Jaren Ashbee (1G, 2A) would restore the two goal lead less than three minutes later. Jack Bakker and Bryan Kim (1G, 2A) would add their period markers for Delta to increase the advantage. Josiah Jackson would score a late consolation goal for SAHA.听

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U16 Prep

James Powell scored 20 seconds in and Cadel Gourlay added a powerplay goal as PCHA led 2-0 after 20. Dalton Toma (2G) would score the lone second period goal to bring Delta within one. Dylan Lazaroff would tie the game midway through the third before Addison Urquhart regave PCHA a late lead. But Jasper Fellbaum (1G, 1A) would tie the game with 1:20 remaining and Toma would score the game winner with just 15 seconds left in regulation.听
