Northern Alberta Xtreme White (4) vs St. George’s School (1) U17 Prep
For the greater half of Friday鈥檚 matchup, this game was locked at one all. It wasn鈥檛 until halfway through the second where Hubert Clarke (1G, 1A) found an opening past Imaree Dhaliwal (31/34). Later in the frame, Gavin Faul (1G, 1A) would add to NAX White鈥檚 lead, scoring on the powerplay with 56-seconds left to play. St. George鈥檚 would press in the third but failed to thread anything though Taylor Raynard (28/29). After this matchup, Raynard firmly sits atop of the U17 Prep division with a 1.18 GAA.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (0) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
Thomas Papas (23/23) was the main star for SAHA in Friday morning鈥檚 performance. The Olinda, Australia goaltender picked up his first career CSSHL win and added a shutout to the statsheet on top of that. Offensively, a strong start put SAHA ahead by two with goals from Ty Wasyluk and Cole Fisher (2G, 1A). Fisher would add another in the second while the third was dominated by Ty Hynes (2G, 1A).
Shawnigan Lake School (1) vs Edge School Maroon (6) U17 Prep
Edge Maroon made the most of it in the second, scoring their first four goals in less than 7-minutes apart. Jack Deglow opened everything up with his first of the season off of a point shot. Brandon Kendall stunted Edge Maroon鈥檚 momentum shortly after their fourth tally, giving Shawnigan some breathing room. However, Nick Wytrychowski would bury one late in the second to put things out of reach for Shawnigan. Noa Halat would add another powerplay marker in the third to seal Edge Maroon鈥檚 victory.听听
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy Gold (9) U17 Prep
BWC Academy Gold put on an offensive clinic in Delta Friday morning, scoring nine unanswered goals to cement not only the lead but the victory over Pilot Mound. During this stretch, BWC Academy Gold potted three straight shorthanded goals. The scoring was quite spread out, Nathan Tomcheck (2G) was the only Burnaby skater to sneak two past PMHA. On the other hand, Carson Carels (2G) scored twice in his return to CSSHL competition after being called up to the Prince George Cougars earlier last month.
Delta Hockey Academy (2) vs Edge School (6) U15
Ellis Martschuk got things rolling for Edge, scoring in his third consecutive game. Andrew Ragusa (2G) and Charlie Tobin (1G, 1A) would build on Edge鈥檚 lead in the second. However, Delta would show some life with a quick response from Brady Cyr, deflecting home his fourth of the season. Delta鈥檚 Colton Brum would later add one early in the third to pull his academy back into the game. Delta would push and Jack Utsunomiya (47/53) would keep his team alive for a majority of the third. However, Ragusa would fire home his second of the match before Remy Koch (2G) blasted home two of his own to cement Edge鈥檚 victory.
Notre Dame Red (4) vs BWC Academy White (8) U17 Prep
Gabriel Kaminski (3G) and Mark Lee (2G, 2A) led the way in terms of goal scoring in this contest while Dominic Seminoff (5A) chipped in five helpers, four of which were primary. Most of BWC Academy White鈥檚 damage was done during the second period. Notre Dame Red would rally back with a few in the third, including a pair from Brodyn Pladson to close out the game.
OHA Edmonton Black (5) vs Notre Dame (7) U17 Prep
OHA Edmonton Black dominated the first frame, outshooting Notre Dame 12-5 and leaving on top with a 1-0 lead thanks to leading scorer Braydon Franks (1G, 2A). However, the tides would shift in the second. Notre Dame would explode for four goals before the end of the frame. Calum Giese (3G, 1A) would claw one back for OHA Edmonton Black with little time to spare in the second. Entering the third, Mason Miller put Notre Dame back on track with his second of the campaign. The combo of Giese and Franks was lights out in the third, creating chances left, right and centre. Giese would pick up two more goals to polish off his hat-trick, however it wasn鈥檛 enough to topple Notre Dame. Connor Dunn scored the eventual game winner for Notre Dame with his first goal of the season.
North Shore Warriors (1) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (6) U15
Wenatchee鈥檚 captain Akira Ota (3G, 1A) opened the scoring for the second time in two days. Kenzo Gibson would respond just over a minute later for North Shore, but that only temporarily eased the grasp Wenatchee would have on this contest. Ota would go on to collect another two goals, clinching his hat-trick. Carson White-Sibley (1G, 3A) would also produce a four-point effort in the victory for the guest academy.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy White (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (10) U17 Prep
Nicholas Campbell (3G, 1A) opened this contest with a feat that will be hard to forget, securing a natural hat-trick in just over 4-minutes of playing time. Campbell wasn鈥檛 the only skater to celebrate a hat-trick, Liam McLeod (3G, 1A) clinched his hatty with 20-seconds left in the game off of a powerplay snipe. Despite the lopsided victory, Lucas Szulc (37/40) had to remain diligent for Delta Black, making 37-saves for his third straight win between the pipes.
Prairie Hockey Academy Blue (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (3) U17 Prep
OHA Black managed to edge out PHA Blue in this low scoring affair. Goaltending played a massive role in this showdown. Emerson Popil (28/31) was on damage control in the first, steering away 15 of OHA Black鈥檚 16-shots on net. Hubert Larose tied things up in the second for PHA Blue with his sixth of the campaign. In a tense third, OHA Black was able to capitlize twice with tallies from Keele Dueling (1G, 2A) and Maxx Parfitt (1G, 1A). Asher Watson would get one back for PHA Blue, but Charlie Peppinck (30/32) was perfect the rest of the way, securing OHA Black their second win of the U17 Prep showcase.
Edge School (11) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U15 Prep
Brock England (2G, 1A) made himself heard just 41-seconds into his return to the U15 Prep squad after a stint with the U18 Prep squad at the Circle K Classic, wiring one home from the top of the slot. This set the tone for Edge as they would put up another four unanswered following their first tally. Only two Edge skaters left the ice without a point to their name in this contest. Four skaters achieved multi-goal performances while Leif Oaten (31/33) picked up the dub in the crease.
Yale Hockey Academy (7) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U15
Yale scored early and often as they led 4-0 just 7:13 in with goals from Matteo Zenone (1G, 3A), Maxx Trites (1G, 1A), Elias Papadatos (2G, 1A), and Tanner Massey. Cohenn Rotar halted the run 1:45 later with his 15th goal of the season. Ethan Lobay brought OHA Edmonton within two with five minutes left in the second but Michael Kuzik (1G, 2A) countered 44 seconds later. Lucas Ward and Papadatos added goals 21 seconds apart in the final 30 seconds of the game to secure a 7-2 Yale win. Nevin Connor (21/23) made 21 saves for the win.听
OHA Edmonton (3) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17 Prep
Cameron Collins (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for NSW 1:36 into the game with the lone first period goal. Jason Haraphongse tied the game 4:18 into the second before Luke Blanchard restored the North Shore lead 3:17 later. In the third Ali Naim (1G, 1A) tied the game with 9:41 remaining and Jack Pettipas scored his fifth of the season with 5:52 remaining to give OHA Edmonton the third period come-from-behind victory. Ethan Taylor (16/18) and David Payne (47/50) were in net for their respective teams.听
Delta Hockey Academy Green (4) vs Prairie Hockey Academy White (3) U17 Prep
Lukas Lima and Griffin Horne (2G) traded first period goals as the second started tied 1-1. Horne鈥檚 12th of the season gave PHA White an early second period lead but it was countered by a late Max Malinousky (1G, 2A) goal. Mason Smith restored the PHA White lead midway through the second but two goals from Milan Mrsic 92G) in the final 5:11 saw Delta Green pull out a 4-3 victory. Greyson Moroz (38/41) and Georgi Milanov (29/33) were in net for their respective teams.听
Northern Alberta Xtreme Blue (2/OT) vs Edge School Gold (1) U17 Prep
Kesler Morrow scored 10:08 into the first giving Edge Gold a lead that would stand until 12:09 into the third when Grady Wedman scored his sixth of the season to tie the game. 60 minutes wasn鈥檛 enough to solve this battle between two rivals, and in overtime Nathan Guenther scored to give NAX Blue the 2-1 win. Parker Snell (43/44) and Brody Rotar (41/43) each made 40 plus saves for their respective teams.听
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy Navy (2) vs North Shore Warriors Orange (7) U17 Prep
North Shore Orange started the game with a bang as Alex McMillan (1G, 2A), Finlay Reed (2G, 1A), and Santino Esposito (2G, 3A) all scored first period goals. Colby Shumak (1G, 1A) extended the advantage 34 seconds into the second before Shawn Haynes got CDA Navy on the board 8:32 into the second with a shorthanded goal. Tyrese Martinez scored a power play goal 32 seconds into the third for NSW Orange. Artem Gunko (1G, 1A) replied exactly four minutes later but Reed responded with a goal of his own 33 seconds after that. Esposito added a late goal for NSW Orange to give them a 7-2 win.听
BWC Academy (6/SO) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U15
Bradey Ching (2G, 1A) scored twice and Sunjai Sharma (2G) added a goal of his own as BWC Academy led 3-0 15:59 in. PCHA would get goals from Sebastian Nuttall (2G) and Trent Porter (1G, 1A) in the final three minutes of the first to bring them within one. After a scoreless second, Hayden Goetzinger and Sharma extended the BWC Academy advantage as it looked as though they would coast to a 5-2 victory. But PCHA had other plans with Nehemiah Plunkett (2G) scoring twice and Nutall once all in the final 2:16 to tie the game and force OT. After overtime solved nothing, Sharma and Ching both scored in the shootout and Mya Young (19/24) stopped both PCHA shooters to give BWC Academy a 6-5 win.听
Fairmont Hockey (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (3/OT) U17 Prep
Both Matthew Bennett (35/38) and Kaleb Miller (38/40) stopped every shot they faced in the first before Bradley Schmidt beat Bennett 9:58 into the second to give OHA the game’s opening goal. Jonathan Gomez would tie the game late in the middle frame with a power play tally. Brady Witkin gave Fairmont their first lead of the game 8:21 into the third with his sixth goal of the season. On the power play late it looked as though Fairmont would hold on for a victory but Connor Vogt scored shorthanded to tie the game and force OT. In the extra period it was Seth Fleet (1G, 1A) scoring his sixth goal of the season to hand guest team Fairmont their first CSSHL loss.听
Delta Hockey Academy Black (8) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15 Prep
Rylan Franklin (1G, 2A) and Davin Hart (3G) led the way with three points each as Delta Black defeated North Shore 8-2. Defensemen Samuel Harvery (2A) and KJ Merriman (2A) each chipped in with two assists in the win while netminder Logan Jones (29/31) made 29 saves. Chase Vossenaar (2G) scored twice in the loss for North Shore.听
Prairie Hockey Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (10) U15 Prep
CSSHL U15 Prep December POTM Jake Ritson (1G, 1A) scored 58 seconds in, setting the tone for what would end as a 10-0 win for RHA Winnipeg. Anthony Bedard (3G, 2A) recorded a hat-trick and Drayden Uhrina (5A) added five assists as they led all skaters with five points each. Max George (2G, 1A) and Jaxon Sedor (2G, 1A) each scored twice in the win. Tata Barnaby (19/19) made 19 saves for the shutout win.听
Delta Hockey Academy Green (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School Female (0) U18 Prep
Maisie Cope (30/30) made 30 saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season as Delta Green defeated Shawnigan 4-0. London McDavid scored in the first, Breigh Rank and Saya Earl in the second, and Ellie Chou (1G, 1A) in the third provided the offence for Delta Green.听
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U15
All of the scoring happened in the first 4o minutes, with 7 of the 8 goals being scored in the middle frame in a 6-2 NAX win. Kaysun Brunham (2G) scored the lone first period goal as NAX led 1-0 after 20. Joel Parker would briefly tie the game but Brunham responded 27 seconds later as NAX scored five straight with Nolan Wolitski (2G, 2A) scoring twice and Bronsyn Mouille (1G, 1A) and Corbin Dunphy (1G, 1A) finding the back of the net. Nathan Marques would score a power play goal with three seconds remaining in the period to get one back for OHA but Tyson Moreland (16/18) made 16 saves to secure an NAX victory.听
STAR Hockey Academy (7) vs St. George’s School (2) U15
Ronin Brunner (1G, 1A), Adrian Afrakov (3G) and Daniel Makovetskiy (2G) all scored early goals as STAR jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. St. George鈥檚 would get on the board late in the first with a goal from Felix Hang. But STAR would come out flying in the second as Levi Ellingsen (1G, 2A) scored 22 seconds in and Makovetskiy recorded his second of the night 1:07 later. Afrakov scored twice more to complete the hat-trick and give STAR a commanding 7-1 lead midway through the game. Logan Okamura scored a late second period consolation goal but it wasn鈥檛 enough as Bannen Clements (34/36) made 34 saves to backstop STAR to the 7-2 win.听
Ontario Hockey Academy Gold (3) vs CIH Academy Green U18 (5) Eastern U18
Nikita Schneider scored his sixth goal of the season to give CIH Green an early 1-0 lead. Jeremy Deschambault-Perron tied the game with his fourth of the season but Lukas Plank (1G, 1A) restored the CIH Green lead just 48 seconds later. Vincenzo Di Rocco (1G, 1A) tied the game 1:39 into the second before Remi Gendron (1G, 1A) and Solomon Kim scored to give CIH Green the 4-2 lead going into the third. Neil Iserhoff (1G, 1A) extended the lead 1:39 into the third period. Thorvald Naess would get one back for OHA Gold but it was nothing more than a late consolation goal as a 26 save performance by Maxime Giguere (26/29) gave CIH Green a 5-3 win.听
Delta Hockey Academy Green (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep
Tristan Hoko (2G) scored his 11th and 12th goals of the season, including a shorthanded tally, as OHA (6-6-1-1) raced out to a 2-0 lead in their effort to upset Delta Green (12-3-2-0). Eli Tverdowsky (1G, 1A) added a power play goal late for OHA to close out the first period. Alexander Laing beat Linden Sobocan (26/27) 13:47 into the second to get Delta Green on the board but it was quickly erased by Cohen Williams. Cohen Handby (1G, 2A) added a third period goal to give OHA a 5-1 victory. Matthew Wong (21/26) made 21 saves in the loss.听
Notre Dame (8/OT) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep
A high scoring affair saw PMHA lead 3-1 after 20 thanks to goals from Gavin Noseworthy (1G, 1A), Maddox Ramage (3G, 1A), and Forrest Karlson (2G, 2A). Both teams scored twice in the second including Ryker Doka鈥檚 (4G, 2A) goal for Notre Dame eight seconds into the period.Notre Dame scored four goals in the third to claim a 7-6 lead before Sam Carnegie (1G, 1A) tied the game with just 5 seconds left to force OT. In overtime Doka would score 2:37 in to give Notre Dame the 7-6 come from behind win.听
Edge School (8) vs Notre Dame (1) U18 Prep
Defenseman Ben MacBeath (3G) recorded a hat-trick while fellow defensemen Landon DuPont (3A) and Luke Lawford (3A) each had three assists to carry Edge to an 8-1 win over Notre Dame. Ayden Pimm scored the lone goal, beating Preston Patenaude (9/10) 43 seconds into the third. Ben Chornomydz (67/75) faced 75 shots in the loss.听
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) vs Notre Dame (4) U15
Aiden Andrews (2G, 3A) scored for RHA Kelowna 4:00 in but it was Notre Dame who led 2-1 after 20 thanks to goals from Ben Fox and Hayden Nidesh. Andrews scored the lone goal in the second period to tie the game heading into the third. The third period saw RHA Kelowna score five goals as Alexander Sharman (1G, 1A), Bronson Lamontagne (3G, 2A) and Kyler Stocks all found the back of the net. Etienne Gagne-Delaunay and Clive Harazny scored in the third for Notre Dame in the loss.听
Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Red (4) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U17 Prep
RHA Kelowna Red scored 10 seconds and 54 seconds into the game as Preston Kelly-Paquet and Brayden Westman (1G, 1A) each found the back of the net. Aiden Jacobson (2G) countered for RHA Winnipeg with two goals of his own but RHA Kelowna Red still led after 20 thanks to Rylan Saunders ninth goal of the season. Gavin Quennelle (1G, 1A) scored his 10th on the year to tie the game in the second period. Carter Haney (1G, 1A) gave RHA Winnipeg their first lead of the game 6:47 into the third and Nicklas Catellier scored the eventual game winner with 9:02 left to play. Logan Lanti would bring RHA Kelowna Red within one with 30 seconds left but a 28 save outing from Chase Charriere (28/32) secured a RHA Winnipeg win. Levi Hollatz (26/31) was credited with 26 saves in the loss.听
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Blue (6) vs Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Black (4) U17 Prep
Brady Walker (1G, 1A) gave RHA Kelowna Black a lead just 55 seconds in with an unassisted goal. Elliott Hill (3G, 1A) and Julian Galenza would trade goals just 13 seconds apart to close out the first period. RHA Kelowna Black would grab a 4-1 lead with goals from Sorens Brons-Douville and Benjamin Bowtell, but a late Hill power play goal saw the deficit cut to two heading into the third. The third period belonged to PCHA Blue as Hill completed the hat-trick 3:24 in kick-starting a four goal effort from his team with Paron Shahi, Jed Lake (1G, 1A) and Tristan Gravenor (1G, 1A) all scoring to complete the comeback victory.听
