Notre Dame (10) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (1) U17 Prep
Ilyas Yarkov (2G, 2A) and Dontae Bear would trade goals in the first period between Notre Dam and ISA. However, Notre Dame took control in the second, outshooting ISA 24-3 and scoring six-straight. This trend continued in the third, where Notre Dame would add another three to their total. Ryder Gilroy (1G, 4A) led the charge with five-points.
Ontario Hockey Academy Prep (5/OT) vs Ulysse Academie U18 (4) Eastern U18
OHA Prep established a 3-1 lead around halfway through the contest. However, penalty trouble from OHA would start to put them in a hole. Ulysse Academie was banking in on their man advantages, putting away three powerplay goals en route to a comeback later in the third. Nicolas Scuccimarri (1G, 1A) would be the one to tie things up for Ulysse Academie. In overtime, OHA Prep would redeem themselves. Takanobu Hiraga (2G) would clinch the OT winner with his second of the game and his tenth on the season, putting OHA Prep’s record at a comfortable 10-1-0-0.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3/OT)Ìý vs BWC Academy (2) U18 Prep
After a scoreless first, Lucas Jakubec and Ty Bonkowski put BWC Academy up by a pair halfway through the second. However, Verners Veinbergs would put CDA on the board with a powerplay marker to cut the deficit down to one before the end of the frame. In the third, CDA applied continuous pressure throughout the period and were rewarded with a grimy goal in front from James Ghebbari (2G). In overtime, Ghebbari would poke a puck loose and spring himself on a breakaway where he’d make no mistake, polishing off the comeback over BWC Academy.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) vs Delta Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
Cameron Norrie (1G, 1A) and Caden Cail split the scoring in the opening frame. Into the second, 6’6 defender Hudson Roberge nabbed his third of the campaign to put RHA Kelowna in the driver’s seat. Kelsen Podworny (1G, 2A) would add to this lead early in the third with the eventual game winner. Joe Iginla and Brody Gillespie would put the game to rest late in the third.Ìý
Shawnigan Lake School (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (8) Female U18 Prep
Alida Korte (2G, 1A) got the ball rolling for RHA Kelowna, chipping in on their first three tallies in Vernon Saturday morning. Kennedy Sisson (1G, 2A) also generated three points in this victory. Farah Walker (12/13) steered aside 12-shots in the win, allowing only Grace Cooper to score for Shawnigan off of a strong power move on the entry.
Prairie Hockey Academy Blue (2) vs Edge School Maroon (7) U17 Prep
Keegan de Sa (2G) keeps his hot-streak alive, potting another two goals in this contest against PHA Blue. Eric Wagman (2G) opened the scoring for Edge Maroon and established the tone for Saturday’s showdown. Riley Robert would give PHA Blue a fighting chance with a response in the second. However, Noah Aldred (1G, 1A) would immediately erase that momentum and put Edge Maroon back in the driver’s seat. Edge Maroon would go on to add another three to secure their victory.
Prairie Hockey Academy (4) vs Notre Dame (5) U15 Prep
Power plays were clicking and goals were traded left, right and centre in Saturday’s showdown between Prairie and Notre Dame. Entering the third, PHA’s Van Huebner (1G, 1A) would pot a powerplay goal to put his academy up by one. However, after falling into penalty trouble themselves, Will Parsons would put home a powerplay goal himself, bringing things back to even. Late in the frame, Thomas MacPhee (1G, 1A) would put home the eventual game winner on the powerplay to complete the comeback for Notre Dame.
Bishop’s College School U18 (14) vs Ontario Hockey Academy Gold (1) Eastern U18
Bishop’s College CSSHL debut was an unforgettable offensive onslaught. Gabriel Le Houillier (3G, 5A) and Leo Adams (4G, 2A) combined for 14-points in the 14-1 beatdown over OHA Gold. Jett Jock would score the lone goal for OHA Gold.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) vs North Shore Warriors (11) U18 Prep
Cameron Kimmerly scored a power play goal to give Wenatchee an early lead but North Shore would counter with eight straight en route to an 11-2 win. Matteo Paradiso (3G, 1A) and Liam Payne (3G, 2A) each recorded hat-tricks while defenseman Nicholas Morin (1G, 4A) had a four assist game. Erik Powers (30/32) made 30 saves in net for the win. Gabe Eckdahl scored the other Wenatchee goal in the loss.Ìý
St. Mary’s High School (3) vs St. George’s School (12) U18 Prep
Simon Ward (2G, 4A) led all skaters with six points, Hunter Morgan (3G) recorded a hat-trick and defenseman Liam Magnuson (4A) had four assists as St. George’s defeated St. Mary’s 12-3. Michael Albert, Stefan Couloures and Elijah Poore scored for SMHS in the loss.Ìý
South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) vs Edge School (2) Female U18 Prep
Kamryn Reiber scored her 12th of the season late in the first as SAHA held a 1-0 lead that lasted early into the third. Jaselyn Hojnocki picked a perfect time to score her first goal of the season, tying the game 2:50 into the third. Jennifer Keller scored the go ahead goal midway through the final frame and Alexis Ehrman (29/30) made 29 saves to give Edge School the 2-1 win. Brooklyn Deck (2A) and Shannon Pearson (2A) each had two assists in the win. Maddy Ferguson (22/24) stopped 22 shots in the loss.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Black (3) U17 Prep
Sartaj Dhami (18/18) made 18 saves for his third win and ninth shutout of the season as RHA Kelowna Black defeated OHA 3-0. Micah Davidson (46/49) kept a clean sheet for the first 52 minutes before Soren Brons-Douville scored the game winning goal early in the third. Kiran Fedun (2G) scored 1:57 later and added his second of the afternoon 4:07 after that to secure the victory.Ìý
Shawnigan Lake School (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep
Ryker Swanson and Hudson May (2G, 1A) scored 13 seconds apart as Yale held a 2-0 advantage after 20. Jayden Oleskiw’s 12th of the season early in the second extended the lead. Cole Mekelburg capitalised on the power play to get Shawnigan on the board but it was cancelled out by a May power play goal shortly after. A Nigel Alberts (1G, 1A) penalty shot goal brought Shawnigan within two with more than 12 minutes to play but Carson Lang (26/28) stood tall to prevent the comeback and give Yale the hard-fought 4-2 win. Will Stonehouse (41/45) made 41 saves in the loss.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep
PCHA opened up with a 2-0 first period lead on goals from Ryker Rougeau (2G) and Naoh Kosick (2G). Tommy Lafreniere’s (1G, 2A) 17th of the year got Yale on the board early in the second. Rougeau restored the two-goal lead 2:07 later but Grant Reid (1G, 1A) responded for Yale just 12 seconds later. Logan Flint tied the game and Tej Dhaliwal (1G, 1A) gave Yale their first lead. The lead was short lived as a Kosick goal 31 seconds later tied the game going into the third. A power play goal by Kainoah Brankovic with 9:13 left to play gave Yale the lead, one they would hold onto thanks to 26 saves from Spencer Hunnam (26/30).Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4/OT) U18 Prep
After a scoreless first, Brendyn Van Oene (1G, 2A) opened the scoring 23 seconds into the middle period. Joshua Polak (2G, 1A) extended the Shawnigan lead with his 16th of the season. David Hoy (1G, 1A) would get OHA on the board but a Weston Ebrahim goal restored the two-goal lead going into the third. In the third Wyatt Danyleyko and Charlie Grant (1G, 2A) scored 19 seconds apart to tie the game and force overtime. Polak needed just 23 seconds of extra time to give Shawnigan the 4-3 win. Mathis Perron (27/30) and Conner Nicolson (31/35) were in net for their respective teams.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy White (1) vs North Shore Warriors Orange (4) U17 Prep
Santino Esposito (1G, 1A), Robert Orr (2G) and Colby Shumak (1G, 1A) all scored in the first 30 minutes as North Shore Orange held a 3-0 lead. Markus Nichols got PCHA White on the board midway through the second with his sixth goal of the game. Orr secured the NSW Orange win with an empty net goal with 1:04 left to play. Kellen Ceraldi (33/34) made 33 saves and recorded an assist in the win. Leo Brousseau (44/47) was charged with the loss.Ìý
South Alberta Hockey Academy (0) vs Edge School Gold (3) U17 Prep
Holden Murphy (31/31) made 31 saves for his second shutout of the season as Edge Gold defeated SAHA 3-0. Rory Frew scored the eventual game winner 11:42 into the second and AJ Tarnowski (2G, 1A) scored twice, including a shorthanded tally, in the third period. Mattias Radke (34/37) made 34 saves in the loss.Ìý
South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep
Josiah Jackson, Josh Evaschesen (3G) and Owen Brees (1G, 1A) all scored opening period goals as SAHA raced out to a 3-0 lead. Evaschesen would score twice in the second, including a short handed goal that completed the hat-trick. Drew Williamson (1G, 1A) added a late power play goal for SAHA but a Michiel Leenders goal with 2:50 left to play broke the Marek Schlenker (23/24) shutout bid.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Blue (9) vs St. George’s School (2) U17 Prep
Parson Shahi (3G, 1A) and Elliott Hill (4A) each had four point games as PCHA Blue defeated St. George’s 9-2. Haydyn Brooks (1G, 2A), Madden Cruickshank (1G, 2A) and Drew Stinka (2G, 1A) each chipped in with three points and Braxton Becker (37/39) made 37 saves in the win. Minsuk Hou and London Taylor scored in the loss. Imaree Dhaliwal (66/75) faced 75 shots in net for St. George’s.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (2) vs BWC Academy White (3) U17 Prep
Blake Riley and Landen Mailhot traded first period goals before Mark Lee (2G, 1A) scored his 22nd of the season in the second as BWC Academy White led 2-1 after 40. Keele Deuling tied the game 8:28 into the third with his sixth goal of the season to force OT. In overtime Lee would find the back of the net 1:52 in to give BWC Academy White the 3-2 win.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (9) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) Female U18 Prep
Grace Littler (2G, 1A) and Jada Wood (2G, 1A) each scored twice, Madison Deschamps (1G, 2A), Tiani Makokis (1G, 2A), and Sayler Russell (2A) added two assists and Jorja Moore (17/17) recorded a 17 save shutout as OHA defeated OHA Black 9-0. Ryann Faulkner (38/47) faced 47 shots in the loss.
