St. George鈥檚 School (3/OT) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep Tier 2 Final

After trailing 2-0 heading into the third period St. George鈥檚 won a thrilling overtime game over South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA) to claim the 2024 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) U17 Prep Tier 2 Western Championship.听

St. George鈥檚 School controlled the majority of the first outshooting SAHA 16-10 but neither team was able to find the back of the net as Imaree Dhaliwal (55/57) and Mattias Radke (40/43) stood tall for their respective teams.

SAHA took over in the second period as Ty Hynes (1G, 1A) opened the scoring 4:27 into the period with his second goal of the Championships. Jack Elliott added a second SAHA goal with 7:19 left in the frame as SAHA outshot St. George鈥檚 26-15 and grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second.听

Noah Chen got St. George鈥檚 on the board 5:12 into the third to give his team life and a power play goal by Sam Auld 4:20 later tied the game. A broken pane of glass temporarily paused the game midway through the period, resetting the momentum shift that had swung in St. George鈥檚 favour. SAHA continued to apply pressure in the third, winning the shot battle 19-10, but the two teams remained tied after regulation.听

London Taylor would be the hero for St. George鈥檚, scoring 1:53 into the 10-minute overtime.听

This was the first CSSHL U17 Prep Division Championship in St. George鈥檚 history, and second championship in program history having captured the 2018 CSSHL U15 Western Championship.听

BWC Academy White (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) U17 Prep Tier 3 Semi-Final

Brayden Tremblay gave OHA Black the lead with just six seconds left in the first period. But it was all BWC Academy White from there as they scored five unanswered goals to book their spot in the Tier 3 Final. Dominic Seminoff (2G, 1A) tied the game early in the second period and Landen Mailhot scored the eventual game winner on the power play late in the frame. Mark Lee (1G, 1A) extended the lead and Nic Collins added a power play marker before Seminoff secured the victory with an empty net goal. Josh Wu (34/35) made 34 saves for the win.听

Calgary International Hockey Academy (5/OT) vs Prairie Hockey Academy White (4) U17 Prep Tier 1 Final

Calgary International Hockey Academy has won their first ever 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) Western Championship after defeating Prairie Hockey Academy White 5-4 in the U17 Prep Tier I Championship.听

Brendan Rudolph (3G, 1A) opened the scoring in the first period with his fourth goal of the Championships for CIHA.听

Kaden Hayes (1G, 1A) extended the lead just 1:30 into the second period. But Rylan Emigh responded for Prairie White 1:40 later and a Griffin Horne power play goal tied the game late in the period. Rudolph would restore the CIHA lead with 1:03 left in the second.

Lachlan Hanton (1G, 2A) extended the lead with a shorthanded goal 2:02 into the third. Ryland Molde (1G, 1A) countered for Prairie White just 28 seconds later. Prairie White would make a late push that ultimately resulted in a Rylan Aulin game tying goal with 2:29 left to play.听

The game would head to overtime where a great move by Noah Milford drew a penalty and put CIHA on the power play. Milford would set-up Rudolph to complete the hat-trick and give CIHA the 5-4 OT win.

Netminder Cole Prelusky (30/34) made 30 saves in net for the win while Cameron Beisal (37/42) was solid in net for PHA White with 37 saves.听

North Shore Warriors (5) vs Shawnigan Lake School (7) U17 Prep Tier 3 Semi-Final

Liam Downie (1G, 1A) scored 36 seconds in and Cole Mekelburg (1G, 3A) added a goal late in the first as Shawnigan grabbed a 2-0 lead. Anri Ishigaki got North Shore on the board late in the first before Alen Ryzhkov (3G) scored twice in the second and Cody Lee (1G, 1A) added a power play goal as they stormed back to take a 4-2 lead. McAllister Mugford brought Shawnigan within one and Nigel Alberts (3G, 1A) tied the game 1:11 later. The third period started just like the second ended, with an Alberts goal. Brandon Kendall got in on the action with the eventual game winner. Ryzhkov completed the hat-trick and brought his team within one but Alberts completed a hat-trick of his own with 22 seconds left to secure the victory.

Bourget College (4) vs Ontario Hockey Academy Prep (5/SO) Eastern U18 Prep

Marc-Antoine Riopel (2G) and Mavrick Chan-Miguel (1G, 1A) traded first period goals before Riopel scored 2:24 into the second to give Bourget a 2-1 lead. Krystopher Roy extended the lead 10 minutes later with a power play goal, his 14th goal of the season. OHA Prep would make a late period push as Marcus Fjeld tied the game with 1:05 left. Takanobu Hiraga (2G) tied the game 6 seconds later and scored again 18 seconds after that as his team grabbed the lead heading into the third. Antoine Demers (1G, 1A) tied the game with 7:54 remaining to force overtime. After OT solved nothing, Hugo Allard scored in the fourth round of the shootout to give OHA Prep the 5-4 win. Georgi Fonti (53/57) made 53 saves for the win.听
