GAME DAY RECAP: September 13, 2024

King鈥檚 Edgehill School (5) vs Mount Academy (3) Eastern U18

King鈥檚 Edgehill School forward Jack Warren (2G, 1A) scored the first goal of the 2024/25 CSSHL season 2:20 into the first period. Dylan Gideon (1G, 1A) tied the game shortly after but Alex Doyle restored the KES lead heading into the second. Zackary Drachler scored the lone goal of the second to even the score heading into the final 20. Jack Sangster (2G) put KES ahead 5:04 into the third before Bryson Robinson replied for Mount just 25 seconds later. Sangster would score the game winning goal, on a penalty shot, with 1:15 left and Warren added an empty netter 15 seconds later. Nolan Herritt (21/24) and William Talbot (59/63) were in net for their respective teams.听

Northern Alberta Xtreme (5/SO) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U15 AAA

Liam MacMillan and Matteo Gambetti scored 4:07 apart as OHA Edmonton raced out to a 2-0 lead. A Jared Ryan power play goal with 1:24 left in the frame got NAX on the board and Jett Evans scored the lone second period goal 3:09 in to tie the game heading into the final period. Erik Miller gave NAX their first lead 2:29 into the third before Chase Blair tied the game midway through the period. Malakai Andrews put NAX back on top exactly three minutes later before Gambetti tied the game 3:01 after that to force OT. In overtime NAX would have a flurry of chances but Connor Phillips (40/44) kept the door closed to force a shootout. NAX would finally break through as Keatyn Devlin and Emmett Abel both found the back of the net and Zayden Maclean (28/32) stopped both OHA Edmonton shooters.听

OHA Edmonton U15 Prep (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (9) U15 Prep

Damian Anderson scored a power play goal 6:08 into the game as OHA Edmonton grabbed an early 1-0 lead. After some miscommunication behind the OHA Edmonton net, Brady Ondrus grabbed a loose puck to tie the game with a short handed tally. Chayse Fedoriuk restored the OHA Edmonton lead 4:10 into the second but it was all NAX from there as they scored eight unanswered goals. Riley Brown (3G, 1A) recorded a hattrick while Teagen Bouchard (2G) and Luka Samu (2G) each scored twice in the win. Karter Gibson (21/23) made 21 stops in the NAX net.听

Wenatchee Wild (3) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Cameron Kimmerly opened the scoring with 3:28 left in the second as Wenatchee led 1-0 after 20. Aleksandr Skuratov tied the game 57 seconds into the second, Owen Bambrick scored 35 seconds later to give CDA the lead, and Elias Schneider extended the deficit 30 seconds after that. Collin Ubrig brought Wenatchee within one minutes later before a late second period goal by Alex Segal tied the game听 heading into the third period. Keele Deuling scored the eventual winner 9:26 into the final period and Skuratov added an insurance marker with a power play tally as CDA skated to a 5-3 win. Bennett Byers (47/50) made 47 saves in net for the win.听
