Former Edge School student-athlete Tristen Nielsen has signed a two-year NHL Entry Level Contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
The Fort St. John, BC forward has spent the past two seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Abbotsford Canucks, the minor league affiliate for Vancouver. In 105 AHL games Nielsen has recorded 52 points, including 41 in 64 games this past season.
Prior to his time in the AHL Nielsen played five seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) split between the Calgary Hitmen and Vancouver Giants. In 241 career WHL games Nielsen tallied 82 goals and 93 assists with a career high 65 points in 2019/20. Nielsen was originally selected by the Hitmen in the first round, 20th overall at the 2015 WHL Draft.
Nielsen played three seasons at Edge School, two of which were in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL). He joined the program in 2013/14, posting 47 points in 58 games. The following U15 Prep season he would record 25 points in 18 CSSHL games. His last season with Edge School was 2015/16 when he finished with 23 points in 22 U18 Prep games.
