In a battle of the top two teams from the regular season, it was RINK Hockey Academy who came out on top, winning the 2022 Female U18 Prep Western Championship final 3-2 over Delta Hockey Academy U18.
It was Delta who would strike first when a Sarah Webster wrist shot beat Margaux Favre (20/22) low blocker. Jade Surdez would score less than three minutes later for RHA Kelowna to even the score at one after 20 minutes of play.
Janelle Evans would give RHA Kelowna their first lead of the game 7:46 into the second period but Zoe Leas would score with 5:32 remaining in the period to tie the game at two.
Tied at two heading into the final championship deciding period, Sophie McKinley would be the hero for RHA Kelowna, scoring her second of playoffs 8:49 into the third. Delta would make a late push with the empty net but was unable to find an equalizer as RHA Kelowna won their first听 Female U18 Prep Western Championship.
