The West Van Warriors have announced that Jeff Eaton, Mats Lindgren, and Tom McEvay have all joined their staff for the 2021/22 season.
Eaton joins the program as Director of Hockey. Eaton has more than 20 years of management and coaching experience including spending time with the University of Colorado, Vancouver Vipers, as Director of Hockey with Burnaby Winter Club, and Head Coach of the Pacific Steelers.
Taking on the role of Director of Player Development, Mats Lindgren joins West Van having amassed almost 400 career NHL games. A first-round pick by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Lindgren won a U18 Europe Junior Championship Silver Medal, two U20 World Junior Championship Silver Medals, and competed with Team Sweden at the 1998 Olympic Games. The 1993/94 Elitserien Rookie of the Year, Lindgren brings a coaching background that includes time coaching professionally in the Swedish Elite League.
McEvay will serve as the Warriors Educational Advisor for West Van students attending the North Shore Academy. He has spent more than 40 years as an educator including 25 as a school principal in Port Alberni. He played his minor hockey in Victoria before receiving a scholarship to the University of British Columbia to pursue his dreams as a coach and educator. McEvay currently serves as an Educational Advisor for three different BCHL teams.
