Four Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) alumni have been named as their Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) 2020-21 Top Goaltender Award Winner.
Devin Chapman (Canmore Eagles), Easton Hesse (Bonnyville Pontiacs), Tyler Palmer (Spruce Grove Saints), and Brady Parker (Okotoks Oilers) were all named their respective teams winners this season.
Chapman spent the 2015/16 season with Okanagan Hockey Academy鈥檚 (OHA) U15 team posting a 2.89 goals against average and .903 save percentage in 15 games. In 2019/20 he played 31 games with the Eagles, and would play 1 game with them this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He would join the Grande Prairie Storm for the remainder of the season, playing in four games.
Hesse played for OHA Edmonton for one year, spending the 2015/16 season with their U18 Prep team. He would join the Pontiacs for the 2018/19 season and has played 79 regular season and 8 playoff games the past three years. Hesse has a career 1.97 goals against average and a .936 save percentage with the Pontiacs and had an AJHL best .931 save percentage this season. Hesse is committed to Lake Superior State University for the 2021/22 season.
A tenth-round pick by the Spokane Chiefs in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, Palmer spent two seasons with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX). In 2018/19 Palmer led NAX to a CSSHL League Championship playing all five playoff games and recording a 2.34 goals against average and .929 save percentage. He played 37 regular season games for NAX, posting a 2.38 goals against average and .916 save percentage at the U18 Prep level.
Parker spent the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons with the International Hockey Academy (IHA) U18 Prep team playing in 42 CSSHL games and recording a .921 save percentage in the 2017/18 season. He would then join the AJHL鈥檚 Okotoks Oilers for the 2018/19 season, earning AJHL (South) All-Rookie Team honours. Parker has spent three seasons with the Oilers, posting a .905 save percentage and 2.37 goals against average in 75 games.
