Only three Edge skaters were left off the scoresheet early Sunday morning. Damien Lavallee (2G, 1A) and Ellis Martschuk (2G, 1A) would both nab a pair of goals while Dylan Sherban (4A) produced four helpers. Kaidyn Thomas (29/29) would turn away all 29-shots to guarantee his first career CSSHL shutout.听
OHA Edmonton (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3/OT) U15 Prep
Jihwan Kim opened the scoring for OHA Edmonton just 20-seconds after puck drop. NAX would counter shortly after with a couple of sweet passing plays off with Aidan Poulin and Jaggar John (1G, 2A) being the benefactors. Cole Chorostkowski (38/41) would keep NAX at bay for the next two periods, making 26-saves in the process. This allowed for Liam Reed to tie things up halfway through the third to force an overtime. Late into the extra frame, John and Gavin Harrison would breakout on a 2-on-1 and make no mistake putting this game to bed.
Edge School (6) vs St. Mary’s Academy (4) Female U18 Prep
Kara Mitenko (2G, 1A) and Shannon Pearson put Edge up by a pair before the halfway point of the first. Camryn Falloon (1G, 1A) would cut the deficit down to one soon after, but Sade Sandilands would restore that two-goal advantage before the end of the frame. Samantha Baker (1G, 1A) and Mitenko would add to the lead with another two in the second, but a Mia Faseruk (2G, 1A) shorthanded goal kept St. Mary鈥檚 alive. Faseruk and Chiara Wilson (1G, 2A) would press for another two goals for St. Mary鈥檚, but it wasn鈥檛 enough to take down what Edge had built in the previous two periods.听
Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) Female U18 Prep
NAX and RHA Winnipeg would go back-and-forth for the majority of the contest. Rowyn Street (2G) would tie things up early in the third for RHA Winnipeg. However, NAX turned up the heat to close out this game, scoring three unanswered. Elise Slywka (2G) would score the eventual game winner while Madison Berven (2G) and Mayson Mattersdorfer (2G) added the insurance markers.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (9) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep
Only one SAHA skater was left off of the scoresheet in their victory over Pilot Mound. Keira Grant (3G) led the way with a hat-trick performance while Brianna Finke (2G) and Jaylee Skog (1G, 2A) provided notable efforts as well.
Notre Dame Red (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme White (12) U17 Prep
Only a single skater on NAX鈥檚 roster left the ice without registering a point. Gavin Faul (3G, 2A) led the way with a five-point performance. Declan Brinkman (3G), Jackson Roberts (2G, 1A) and Kasen Harold (2G, 1A) all chipped in huge multi-point performances on top of everything. Ty Swanson (28/29) steered aside all but one Notre Dame Red shot.听
Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
Riley Boychuk (1G, 2A) opened this game up with his tenth of the campaign. NAX would score six unanswered to open this game’s scoring, not surrendering one until halfway through the third, where CIHA would manage to score another three. Ryan Gower (3A) would chip in three helpers while Daxon Rudolph (1G, 1A) left the ice with the eventual game winning goal.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Notre Dame (6) U15 Prep
Riley Brown (1G, 1A), Will Parsons (1G, 1A) and Parker Banks (2G) scored first period goals for Notre Dame. Banks and Logan Arnold (1G, 1A) added second period power play markers while Ryker Doka (1G, 1A) scored the lone third period goal. Kurtis Stajkowski (24/24) made 24 saves for the shutout. Gavin Hildebrand (34/40) was charged with the loss.听
OHA Edmonton (3) vs Edge School Gold (9) U17 Prep
Ryan Boyce (1G, 3A) led all skaters with four points, Ethan Elefante (2G) and Noah Kelly (2G) each scored twice, and Holden Murphy (34/37) made 34 saves as Edge Gold defeated OHA Edmonton 9-3. AJ Tarnowski (1G, 2A) chipped in with three points in the win. Kaden Wilkins (2G) scored twice for OHA Edmonton in the loss.听
Edge School (15) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep
Declan Cardiff (1G, 4A) and Mirco Dufour (2G, 3A) led all skaters with five points while Jack Bissoon (2G, 2A), Brock England (1G, 3A) and Matthew Hilderman (3G, 1A) chipped in with four points as Edge defeated Prairie 15-2. Soren Hayden and Van Huebner scored for Prairie in the loss. Affiliate Delano Pockar (20/22) made 20 saves for the win.听
Delta Hockey Academy Green (4) vs North Shore Warriors (0) Female U18 Prep
Mikayla Totten (2G) scored first and second period goals as Delta Green led 2-0 heading into the third. Hayley Lee (2G) scored twice in the final frame as Delta Green defeated North Shore 4-0.听
North Shore Warriors (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School (5) U15 Prep
Terran Johal scored his first of the season as Shawnigan Lake struck first with a power play marker. Cruze Kopeck (1G, 1A) tied the game 2:06 into the second before back-to-back goals from Darwin Ketch (2G, 1A) and Cache Thomas (1G, 2A) for Shawnigan. Casey Pearson brought North Shore within one with a power play goal just 10 seconds after Thomas had scored shorthanded. Charlie Kittleson (1G, 1A) would counter with a power play goal of his own to close out the second period. Sean Murphy (1G, 2A) and Chase Vossenaar tied the game midway through the third but Ketch scored his second of the game and sixth of the season to give Shawnigan a 5-4 lead with 4:52 left. Donagh Esler-Twiss (48/52) made 48 saves and recorded an assist to give Shawnigan the victory.听
Yale Hockey Academy (6) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (3) U15 Prep
Caden Leibel and Isaiah Krahn traded first period goals before Kayden Pratt gave Delta Green a 2-1 lead 2:08 into the second. Rocklen Stordy and Shaun Hildebrandt (1G, 2A) countered for Yale to close out the period. Ollie Reid and Alexander Laing swapped goals at the start of the third as the deficit remained at one. But Chase Smith and Matteo Di Stefano added late tallies as Yale skated to a 6-3 win. Tyson Kuiack (25/28) and Matthew Wong (28/34) were in net for their respective teams.听
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
After a scoreless opening period and a half, Logan Deuling (1G, 1A) broke the deadlock 10:36 into the second. Royce Butler extended the CDA lead with his eighth goal of the season. Colin Bigelow (1G, 1A) added another early in the second before Sheldon Wilson finally got Wenatchee on the board with 7:38 remaining. Verners Veinbergs put the game out of reach with a late third period marker. Zane Hill (24/25) made 24 saves to earn the win. Carson Fowler (42/46) was in net for the loss.听
OHA Edmonton Black (2) vs Edge School Maroon (4) U17 Prep
Calum Giese scored his 10th goal of the season as OHA Edmonton Black held a 1-0 lead after 20. Nick Wytrychowski tied the game 36 seconds into the middle frame and Luca Dufour鈥檚 15th of the season propelled Edge Maroon ahead going into the third. Giese tied the game 8:46 into the third but 2 power play goals in a span of 1:17 by Noa Halat and Wytrychowski gave Edge Maroon a 4-2 win. Brooke Davis (25/27) made 25 saves in the win.听
Shawnigan Lake School (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep
PCHA (8-9-1-0) upset their Vancouver Island rival Shawnigan Lake (13-4-1-1) with a 5-2 win Sunday. Brendyn Van Oene gave SLS the lead just 37 seconds into the hockey game. Calgary Hitmen 2023 first round WHL Draft pick Noah Kosick (2G, 2A) would reply for PCHA, scoring twice in a span of 1:28. Chase Kittleson closed out the first with his second goal of the season, tying the game. Jase Johnstone (2G, 1A) and Jordan Ramsay (1G, 1A) scored second period goals to give PCHA a 4-2 lead after 40. Johnstone would score again 2:49 into the third as PCHA pulled away for the 5-2 win. Chayse Johnson (29/31) made 29 saves in the win.听听
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (4) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Dylan Johnson (1G, 2A) scored just 24 seconds in before Braden Boman (1G, 2A) and Everett Horrocks (2G, 1A) scored 42 seconds apart as Wenatchee led 3-0 9:04 in. Owen Bambrick (1G, 1A) would get CDA on the board with his 8th goal of the season, 13:25 into the opening frame. After a scoreless second Armaan Punn (1G, 1A) scored 5:57 into the third to extend the lead. Riley Van Gieson (2G) brought CDA back within two but Horrocks scored 1:07 later and Cal Kellenberg (1G, 1A) added another 3 minutes after that. CDA would make a late push with Artem Gunko (1G, 1A) and Van Gieson scoring five seconds apart but they were unable to beat Anthony Ganoung (44/48) again. Austin Neill (44/50) was in net for the loss.听
Delta Hockey Academy (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3/OT) U18 Prep
Tej Dhaliwal scored his first goal of the season to open the scoring for Yale 9:19 in. Jack Ferguson tied the game 12:32 into the second but Kainoah Brankovic (2G) countered 5:05 later. Jovan Sandhu scored the lone third period goal with 9:07 remaining to tie the game and force OT. Brankovic would be the overtime hero for Yale, scoring with 29 seconds left in the extra period. Spencer Hunnam (41/43) and Armaan Kaila (31/34) were in net for their respective teams.
