Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U18 Prep
Kamloops Blazers prospect, Hudson Closson, got OHA on the board just through the halfway point of the first after cramming home a puck in the crease, but NSW’s Dylan Ruff would make things even just under two minutes later. It would be awhile until our next tally as Ryan Tamelin (38/40) and Beckham Brossard (34/38) kept each of their nets on lockdown. Markus Ruck (1G, 2A) would eventually snap the tie with a routine snipe on a breakaway, landing the momentum in OHA’s favour before the end of the second. OHA would continue their offensive press in the third, racking up another two goals to establish a 4-1 lead. Following a scoreless first, RHA Winnipeg’s powerplay went to work, scoring consecutively to ring up a 2-0 lead before the end of the second. However, RHA Kelowna would nab a powerplay goal for themselves after Joe Iginla tucked home a backhand in close to cut RHA Winnipeg’s lead to one. Come the third, RHA Kelowna began to pick up the pace. McCarthy Richardson (1G, 2A) finished off a passing play with Rhett Serfas. Then shortly after, Cage Smith would connect with Richardson for a shorthanded goal to give them the go ahead lead. RHA Winnipeg fought furiously in the final few minutes of play looking for an equaliser which was eventually found by Wyatt Stinton with 1:07 left on the clock. In overtime, Iginla would see a chance on a breakaway, but came up just shy. Time ticked by and Kelsen Podworny (1G, 2A) was eyeing an attack on goal from the neutral zone. Podowrny would take his space and toe drag the last defender back before ripping one past Chase Furlong (43/47) to clinch the OT winner, improving RHA Kelowna’s record to an impressive 15-1-3-1.

Owen MacLean (24/25) picked up 24-saves in the win, while Logan McAloney (42/47) stopped 40+ shots for the seventh time this season in CSSHL competition.ÌýÌý
Edge School Maroon (1) vs Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Black (4) U17 Prep
Dylan Cawley and Aidan Fisher (1G, 1A) were on the prowl early, putting RHA Kelowna Black up by a pair before Edge Maroon was able to establish any reasonable pressure. This trend would continue in the second as Kiran Fedun got a fortunate bounce to further extend Kelowna’s lead, which was followed up by yet another member’s bounce which found the stick of Julian Galenza. Nick Wytrychowski would put Edge Maroon on the scoreboard late in the frame with a goal of the breakaway, but that’s all the twine the puck would see for the rest of the matchup. Sartaj Dhami (47/48) would make 25-consecutive saves in the third period to secure his academy’s victory, capturing his fifth-straight win between the pipes where he’s accumulated a 0.959 SV%.

Colton Gerrior (1G, 2A) and Christian Revel (2G, 2A) were all over the offensive end, setting up and polishing off plays left, right and centre. Noah Sinagowitz (36/39) only had to stop 7-shots in the first period alone! Brady Witkin would turn the tide halfway through the second for Fairmont, along with Cole Bieksa who scored late on the powerplay to bring their academy within four. PCHA Blue detonated for six-goals in the second period alone, many coming from the duo of Jed Lake (3G, 2A) and Tristan Gravenor (2G, 3A). The momentum was still swaying back and forth, but PCHA Blue could not miss the net. Braxton Becker (41/45) still put on a mighty performance, fending off 41-shots in the win while his forwards provided their potent offence. Edge Gold clawed a couple back in the third, but not enough to make up for the dent that was made in the second.
Prairie Hockey Academy (1/OT) vs St. George’s School (0) U18 Prep
It took 63:19 for this game to not only find itself a winner… but merely a goal. Gibson Horne (18/18) and Eric Tu (30/31) were both perfect through sixty, steering pucks away wherever they came from. In the end, Horne would have the last laugh, making his 18th save of the night before Daniel Helary carried the puck into St. George’s zone.
