GAME DAY RECAP: February 5-7, 2025

Bourget College (4) vs Stanstead College (1) East U18

Xavier Landriault (2G) opened the scoring 5:08 in and Mathys Morrissette (2G) added the lone second period goal as Bourget held a 2-0 lead over first place Stanstead. Morrissette and Landriault started the third with goals less than three minutes apart to increase their advantage to 4-0. Zackarie Michaud got Stanstead on the board midway through third with a shorthanded marker. But Maxime Lavoie (34/35) made 34 saves to fend off the Stanstead offence and give Bourget a 4-1 win Wednesday.听

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (0) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) U17

Eliott Horner (19/19) made 19 saves for his third shutout of the season as PCHA defeated CDA 3-0. Owen Hyde (2G) and Dexter Spring scored first period goals as PCHA raced out to a 2-0 lead. Hyde would score the lone second period goal before a scoreless third period saw the game end 3-0 in favour of the home side. Morgan Hydman (49/52) faced 52 shots in the loss.听

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (0) vs North Shore Warriors (5) U17 Prep

After a scoreless first period Samuel Shepard scored 19 seconds into the second while shorthanded to give North Shore a 1-0 lead. Chase Vossenaar added a power play goal less than two minutes later and Tobin Schaefer (1G, 1A) and Landon Kelly each found the back of the net while at 5-on-5 to increase the North Shore advantage to 4-0 heading into the third. In the third Christopher Mah tallied another North Shore power play goal to give his team a 5-0 win. Oscar Hicik (28/28) made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season. Alex Doyer (55/60) faced 60 shots in the loss.听

Edge School (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U18 Prep

A power play goal by Nick Wytrychowski (1G, 1A) and an even strength marker from Adam M鈥橦amed (1G, 1A) gave Edge a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Brock England (2G, 1A) extended the lead 5:56 into the second with his 19th goal of the season. RHA Winnipeg would strike twice in the second half of the period as goals from Layne Schofield and Cohen Lewko pulled their team within one. England would double the lead 1:50 into the third and Luke Jamieson (1G, 1A) put the game out of reach 7:43 into the final frame as Edge grabbed a 5-2 road victory. Leif Oaten (28/30) and Quinn Burfoot (39/44) were in net for their respective teams.听

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (12) U15 Prep

The Northern Alberta Xtreme opened up their weekend with an offensive output over RHA Winnipeg. Ahmad Fayad (1G, 4A) and Cruz Jim (2G, 3A) each accumulated a staggering five points while Teagen Bouchard (1G, 3A) racked up four points. Along with Jim, Easton Arndt (2G), Brady Ondrus (2G, 1A) and Riley Brown (2G, 1A) each potted a pair of goals. Karter Gibson (17/17) was in goal for the win, collecting 17-saves for his second consecutive shutout.

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (11) U17

An Owen Hyde (2G, 3A) five point effort along with a Kaelen Rusjan (3G) hat trick spearheaded an 11-2 win over Coeur d鈥橝lene. U15 Prep call ups Cameron Young-Thompson (1G, 2A) and Dane Dyer (3A) each nabbed three points on their U17 excursion. Nine skaters in total registered multi-point performances. Logan MacLean (11/13) registered the win in goal while Jackson Barrett (47/58) faced 58-shots in the loss.听

Bourget College (1) vs Ulysse Academie (3) East U18

Following a scoreless first, Simon Fournier would get Ulysse on the scoresheet shortly after a huge cross crease save from Virgil Sausset (29/30) on the other end of the ice. However, a highlight reel pass from Albert Genest found the tape of Xavier Landriault to make things even at one. Landriault has now scored three goals in his last two appearances. The match would remain tight as both Sausset and Alexandro Montoya (33/35) wouldn鈥檛 give an inch to their opposition between the pipes. In the latter half of the third, Ulysse would break through off of a jam play in front with Eloi Vaugeois (1G, 2A) being the benefactor. Bourget would try and regain their footing but could not find an answer for Sausset as the clock winded down. Lucas Loiacono buried the empty netter to secure Ulysse the victory.

Notre Dame (3) vs Edge School (6) U15 Prep

Notre Dame was able to hold Edge School at bay through twenty minutes of play, fending off a five-minute penalty kill in the process. Come the second, Edge would find their footing, scoring three unanswered by the seven minute mark of the frame. Notre Dame would claw back with two before the end of the frame with goals from Duke Lesnar (1G, 1A) and Matthew Boekelder (2G). The Hounds would keep the pressure coming in the third, scoring a powerplay goal, courtesy of Boekelder, to tie the match up at 3-3. However, just 31-seconds later Ethan Parkinson (2G, 1A) would restore Edge鈥檚 lead with a wicked wrister from the left circle. Parkinson would add another from the right side just a couple minutes later, cementing the win for Edge School. Delano Pockar (23/26) made 23-saves in the victory while Hudson Pooler (43/48) kept the game close with a 43-save performance.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U15

Everett Vandenhengel collected a season-high five points (1G, 4A) in Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 7-3 win over Calgary International Hockey Academy. The two teams got the offence going early, trading goals in the first 1:49 of the game. NAX would take over from there, scoring six unanswered goals. Emmett Abel and Jett Evans led the charge with both players picking up two goals and an assist. Liam Nycholat was the lone source of offence for CIHA, getting his third hat-trick of the season. Zayden Maclean turned in a 23-save performance for Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 victory.听

Delta Hockey Academy Black (7) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U15

Six different goal scorers helped Delta Hockey Academy Black beat RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg in a high-scoring affair. The game got off to a fast start with each team scoring three times in the first. Cash Field scored twice in the second frame, capping it off with a beautiful forward to backhand move on a breakaway to put Delta up 6-3. RHA Winnipeg pushed back with two powerplay goals in the final period but it wasn鈥檛 enough. Luc Wilson-Kurenoff got his 12th win of the season for Delta, stopping 28 of 33 shots. Blake Mitchell was under pressure for much of the game but held his own with 52 saves.听

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs OHA Edmonton U15 Prep (15)

OHA Edmonton rolled to a 15-3 win over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy. Chayse Fedoriuk (6A), Damian Anderson (4G, 1A), and Micah Montgomery (1G, 4A) record five or more points in the contest. Fedoriuk pulled to within two points of Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 Cruz Jim for the lead in defenceman scoring. 11 players for OHA Edmonton had multiple points. Cole Landreville reached the 25-goal plateau with a goal for Pilot Mound Hockey Academy.听

Mount Academy (3) vs Kuper Academy East U17 (11)

Malkin Pierre (3G, 5A) and Thomas Brereton (3G, 3A) each recorded hat-tricks in Kuper Academy鈥檚 11-3 romp of Mount Academy. Tristan Lavigne (1G, 3A), Gianfranco Capparelli (2G), and Jiayi Liu (1G, 1A) had big games for Kuper. Cameron Wilson (1G, 1A) and Alex Laboissonniere (1G, 1A) had multi-point efforts for Mount in the loss.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy U17 Prep (3/OT)

Ethan Unger (2G) scored the overtime winner to propel Prairie Hockey Academy to a hard-fought win over South Alberta Hockey Academy. PHA got out to a two goal lead on goals from Unger and Nixon Friesen in the first period. SAHA鈥檚 special teams stepped up in the second with Sully Kufflick getting a powerplay marker and Kutcher Aquila scoring a shorthanded goal. PHA put their special teams to good use in overtime with Unger scoring the winner on a powerplay. Drake Mooney stopped 32 of 34 shots for PHA. Hunter Zawislak kicked out 39 of 42 shots for SAHA.听

North Shore Warriors (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School Female U18 Prep (6)

Zoe Kramer鈥檚 multi-goal game led Shawnigan Lake School to a 6-3 win over the North Shore Warriors. It was a high-scoring opening period. Esme LiChong and Ava Hamel scored for Shawnigan with Gia Carella and Elise Miller responding for North Shore. Shawnigan Lake would take over from there, scoring three unanswered goals. Eden Hamel scored early in the second to give Shawnigan the lead. Zoe Kramer put the game out of reach by scoring back-to-back goals. Aidyn Carkner made 14 saves in Shawnigan鈥檚 win. Haylie Hedges was busy, stopping 41 of 47 shots for North Shore.听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Prep (4)

Chayse Johnson鈥檚 47 save performance helped Okanagan Hockey Academy overcome RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna 4-2. Jackson Roberts (2G) and Cohen Handby put OHA up 3-0 with three goals in the first ten minutes. RHA Kelowna got back to within one with two goals from Riley Pederson. Bradley Schmidt sealed OHA鈥檚 victory with an empty netter in the final minute. Conner Nicholson turned aside 26 of 27 shots in relief for RHA Kelowna.听

North Shore Warriors (4/SO) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U15

Cohen Waite scored in regulation and the shootout winner to help the North Shore Warriors get past Prairie Hockey Academy. After a scoreless opening period, Waite opened the scoring to give North Shore the lead 6:46 into the second. Boston Engel (Prairie) and Rex Norman (North Shore) traded goals in the following minutes to give the North Shore Warriors a 2-1 lead heading into the final period. Prairie snatched back control of the game with a pair of goals from James Lanoie and Deklan Street that came less than two minutes apart. Time was winding down on North Shore but Rex Norman came to the rescue scoring his second goal of the game to tie the game with 45 seconds to go. After overtime solved nothing, Camden Garnett and Cohen Waite scored in the shootout with goaltender Benjamin Boudreau turning aside both Prairie attempts on the other end. Conner Aldag stood tall for Prairie Hockey Academy, stopping 40 of 43 shots in the loss.听

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs STAR Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

Daniel Makovetskiy鈥檚 four goal performance propelled STAR Hockey Academy 5-2 win over Okanagan Hockey Academy. Makovetskiy potted a pair in the opening frame to give STAR a 2-0 advantage. OHA responded with a goal from Henrik Alexander-Ward in the opening minutes of the second but 15 seconds later Makovetskiy restored the two goal advantage. A few minutes later, Blaise Weibye extended STAR鈥檚 lead to 4-1. In the dying seconds of the second period, Gage Mark scored for OHA to put them within striking distance. After that, STAR netminder Alexander Petukhov (24/26) shut the door with eight saves in the third period. Makovetskiy capped off his big night by putting one into an empty net in the final minute. Maddox Slater stopped 33 of 37 shots for OHA Edmonton in the loss.听

BWC Academy (2) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U17

The North Shore Warriors came back from a two goal deficit to beat BWC Academy 3-2. Enan Vlad and Jaxen McFegan scored to get BWC Academy out to a two goal lead. North Shore wouldn鈥檛 back down with Kayden Runstedler and Ryan Frick tying the game with second period goals. With the clock winding down in third, Santino Esposito scored on the game-winner for North Shore with 23 seconds to go. Kellen Ceraldi stopped 26 of 28 shots for North Shore. Tyce Kinsey made 38 saves in the loss for BWC Academy.听听

Edge School (6) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U17 Prep

Edge School scored four goals in the third period to beat Northern Alberta Xtreme 6-4. Ashton McCann provided the offence early with two goals in the opening 25 minutes to help Edge take a 2-1 lead. Tyrie Ehrenberg responded, completing a natural hat trick to put Xtreme up by two heading into the final frame. Edge scored four unanswered in the third with Dylan Sherban (2G) scoring the game-winning goal with seven minutes left. Adam Courchesne made 30 saves in Edge鈥檚 victory.听

Edge School (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U18 Prep

River Arnason (2G, 1A) and Carter Haney scored 13 seconds apart early in the first to give RHA Winnipeg a quick 2-0 lead. While on a 5 minute man advantage, Jake Ritson (2G, 1A) scored a power play goal late in the second to increase the advantage to 3-0. Brock England (1G, 1A) would strike while on the same penalty kill to get Edge on the board and within two. Nick Wytrychowski鈥檚 power play goal 2:02 into the third made it a one goal game as Edge looked to mount a comeback. But Arnason doubled the RHA Winnipeg lead with 4:18 left and an empty net goal from Ritson in the final minute secured the RHA Winnipeg 5-2 win. Nolan Giles (26/28) and Leif Oaten (46/50) were in net for their respective teams.听

Calgary International Hockey Academy (8) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (2) U17 Prep

Calgary International Hockey Academy scored four times in the third to breeze past Indigenous Sports Academy 8-2. The first 35 minutes of the game were tight. ISA鈥檚 Kyler Anderson scored a beautiful goal with 5:28 to go in the second to shrink CIHA鈥檚 lead to 3-2. CIHA would pull away after that, scoring five straight goals. Mason Moran (1G, 4A), Aedan McCarry (1G, 2A), and Zachery Hall (2G) played integral parts in CIHA鈥檚 victory. Braxton Gibson turned aside 26 shots for CIHA.听

Yale Hockey Academy (1) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2/OT) U18 Prep

Elliot Hill scored in the dying seconds of overtime to lift Pacific Coast Hockey Academy to a 2-1 victory over Yale Hockey Academy. Pacific Coast jumped out to an early lead with Braden Boman scoring 12:04 into the opening frame. Yale levelled up the contest early in the second on a goal from Matthew Dowdall. The goalies stole the show for the rest of the game with PCHA鈥檚 Sam Saskiw turning aside 36 of 37 shots and Yale鈥檚 Nathan Kam stopping 31 of 33 shots. Hill solved Kam off a broken play in overtime to give Pacific Coast the win.听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy beat RINK Hockey Academy 3-2 in a back and forth game. The goals came fast in the first with the two squads combining for three goals in 1:04. Parker McMillan opened the scoring for Yale 7:51 into the game. RHA Kelowna responded 22 seconds later with Alexander Sharman tying it up. Matteo Zenone restored Yale鈥檚 advantage with a goal 44 seconds after that. Sharman continued to do the heavy lifting for RHA Kelowna, scoring his second of the game late in the second. In the dying seconds of the frame, Tony Cabelka potted the goal that turned out to be the winner. Mason Sutherland made 21 saves for Yale with Dylan Mingo making 23 saves on the other end.听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3) U15

Yale Hockey Academy scored twice in the first period to extend their winning streak to eight games. Lukas Bachler and Ben Bury each bulged the twine in the first seven minutes putting Yale up 2-0. Dexter Labrecque drew a penalty shot while RHA Kelowna was shorthanded a few minutes later and was able to bury it for their lone goal of the game. Yale鈥檚 Logan Hwang (15/16) and RHA Kelowna鈥檚 Griffin Prairie Chicken (37/40) each played very well from then on to give their teams a chance. Ultimately, Yale would finally break through with Connor Baines getting his 22nd of the season with just over eight minutes to go to seal the win.听

North Shore Warriors (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Okanagan Hockey Academy got goals from Luke Assi and Diezyl Hehr in the opening five minutes and never looked back. North Shore netminder Ethan Suhr battled hard, turning aside 34 shots in the first two periods to keep OHA鈥檚 lead to 3-1. Okanagan Hockey Academy would pull away in the third, scoring four times including a goal from Trey Tourigny (1G, 3A). Charlie Peppinck stopped 22 of 24 shots for OHA in their victory. Suhr finished the game with 62 saves for North Shore.听

STAR Hockey Academy (7) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U17 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy scored early and often against Shawnigan Lake School in a 7-2 win. STAR scored seven unanswered goals to open the game including a hat-trick from Ewen Willers (3G) and two goals for Colten Stabbler (2G). Daniel Jr Peebles (37/39) made 37 saves in STAR鈥檚 victory. Liam Chamberlain stopped 23 of 25 shots in relief for Shawnigan Lake.听

Lower Canada College (4) vs Selwyn House School East (5/OT) U17

Pasquale Presti scored 2:48 into overtime to lift Selwyn House School over Lower Canada College. Lucas Tzaferis (Selwyn) and Harry Miller (Lower Canada) traded goals in the first. Selwyn House went ahead on a marker by Isaac Huberman (2G) late in the second period. Lower Canada would regain the lead in third on goals by Antonio Lombardo (2G) and David Fellen. Selwyn House wouldn鈥檛 stay down for long, responding with goals from Huberman and Gianluca Velenosi. Lombardo capped off the eventful period, scoring the equalizer for LCC with 2:49 to play. Presti sealed the game for Selwyn with a great end-to-end rush in overtime. Both netminders were busy with Selwyn鈥檚 Luca Ottoni making 48 saves and Lower Canada鈥檚 Efstratios Couvas making 45 saves.听

St. George’s School (6) vs Notre Dame (3) U15

St. George鈥檚 School started off their weekend off on a positive note by doubling up the Notre Dame Hounds. Hudson Lesk (3G, 2A), Nick Hill (2G, 1A), and Luca Rogers (1G, 3A) all had big nights for St. George鈥檚. Ryder Fiddler (2G, 1A) and Jax Baumuller (1G) provided the offence for Notre Dame. St. George鈥檚 controlled the game through the first 50 minutes, taking a 4-1 lead. Notre Dame wouldn鈥檛 go away, scoring twice in quick succession to get back within one. St. George鈥檚 School put the game away in the final minutes, scoring on a late power play and into an empty net.听

Balmoral Hall School (3/OT) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) Female U18 Prep

In the CSSHL Featured Game of the Day Maddie Kaiser (1G, 1A) opened the scoring 8:07 in with a power play goal, tipping home a Makenna Williment point shot. Tessa Heggart (1G, 1A) tied the game just 40 seconds later, burying a rebound on a Heidi Danners shot from the blueline. After a scoreless second period, Ashlyn Kuffler (1G, 1A) gave Pilot Mound their first lead of the game 3:30 into the third, beating Mimi Ferreira (22/24) high glove with a shot off the post and in. Balmoral would answer 4:18 later as Brannagh Rae鈥檚 shot off the rush caught Sutter Reaves (51/54) by surprise and snuck in. The two teams would head to overtime where the Balmoral power play struck shortly after an ozone draw as Kaiser fed Madeline McKay for a back-door one timer to give their team the 3-2 win.听

Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs Notre Dame (6) U17

Landon Sokoloski (4G) scored twice in less than four minutes giving Notre Dame a 2-0 lead heading into the second period. He would complete the hat-trick听 1:24 into the second with his second power play goal of the game. Prairie would counter as Jake Myhre and Felix MacMillan scored 23 seconds apart to bring their team within one. Brandon Thompson (1G, 1A) restored a goal lead midway through the period but Kashton Smith (1G, 1A) brought Prairie within one late in the period with a power play marker. However, Pearson Sokoloski doubled the lead 4:54 into the third and Landon Sokoloski scored his fourth of the game less than two minutes later as Notre Dame claimed a 6-3 win. Joshua Heitman (27/30) made 27 saves in net for the win.听

Edge School (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (0) U17

Emerson Popil (36/36) saved all 36 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season as Edge won 2-0 over RHA Winnipeg. After a scoreless first Rylan Saunders scored the game winner 5:16 into the second period with his 18th goal of the season. Jacob Kuntz doubled the lead late in the period with a power play marker before a scoreless third saw the game end 2-0. Zaiden McDonald Horvath (26/28) and Grayson McDonald (11/11) split the work in net for RHA Winnipeg in the loss.听

STAR Hockey Academy (5) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) U15

A Brayden Lindsay (2G) power play marker and Liam Hussey (1G, 1A) even strength goal 1:53 later gave Pacific Coast a 2-0 lead. Seve Paladino (1G, 1A) replied for STAR 24 seconds later with his 16th of the season. Eli Solberg (1G, 1A) tied the game on the power play with 3:57 left in the second and Brady Swanson鈥檚 first of the season gave STAR their first lead 2:12 later. ET Kenny and Olan Ward scored inside the first five minutes of the second as STAR rattled off five straight. Lindsay would get one back for PCHA 4:09 later but that was as close as they would come as Henry Price (23/26) made 23 saves for the win.听

Northern Alberta Xtreme (12) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (3) U18 Prep

Ben Deacon (2G), Liam Eisnor (2G, 2A), Gavin Harrison (2G, 3A) and Maddox Rose (2G, 1A) all scored twice to lead NAX to a 12-3 win over ISA. Carter Elssworth (1G, 2A), Darius Hordal (1G, 1A), Bronsyn Mouille and Grady Wedman added the other NAX goals. Ethan Agawa, Logan Alexis and Kyler Anderson all beat Tyler Swanson (25/28) in the loss.听

Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U17

Each team scored once in the first with Ewan Torrance doing the damage for Delta and Cooper Vogt responding for OHA. Ollie Halowaty and Caiden Osiowy-Mah (1G, 1A) scored back-to-back goals as OHA grabbed a 3-1 lead midway through the second. Christian Sum and Jaxson Bartsch traded goals 1:04 apart in the last minute-and-a-half of the second as the lead remained two heading into the third. Emil Najm (1G, 1A) would bring Delta within one with a shorthanded goal 8:09 into the second but defenseman Luke Edgehouse (1G, 1A) erased any comeback attempt with a power play goal on the same Delta penalty. Tyson Kuiack (25/28) and Blake Langdon (40/45) were in net for their respective teams.听

North Shore Warriors (5) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) U18 Prep

Vladislav Ibagimov (2G) and Ryan Turner (2G) traded first period goals as the two teams entered the intermission even at 1-1. Matteo Paradiso (1G, 1A) restored the North Shore lead with an early second period shorthanded marker. Defenseman Liam Kilfoil (2G, 1A) tallied an even strength goal and Ibragimov added a power play marker as North Shore completed the trifecta in the second. Turner would give Shawnigan life with 6:57 remaining in the third, scoring his second of the game. Kilfoil would respond 27 seconds later with his second of the evening. Koen Gauthier鈥檚 11th of the year brought Shawnigan back within one with 4:45 left to play but Georgi Milanov (43/46) made 43 saves to secure the win.听

North Shore Warriors (2) vs BWC Academy (6) U15 Prep

Forward Adie Schneider (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for BWC Academy late in the first with her fifth goal of the season. Sean Murphy put the two teams level 4:56 into the second with his third of the year. Kenzo Gibson (2G) restored the BWC Academy lead with a power play marker and Kristian Lima (2G) doubled the lead 1:10 later. Riley Taylor halted the run but Justin Moon (1G, 1A) and Lima scored 56 seconds apart a few minutes later as the lead was 5-2 at the end of 40. Gibson would add his second power play goal of the game 1:54 into the third as the home side earned a convincing 6-2 win. Mya Young (19/21) grabbed the win while Ashton Sims (48/54) made 48 saves in the loss.听

Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs St. George’s School (6) U15 Prep

Ethan Kitchen hit double digit goals as Delta grabbed an initial 1-0 lead. Adam Benn (2G, 1A) countered for St. George鈥檚 5:28 later to tie the game heading into the second. Bradey Ching and Logan Okamura (1G, 1A) scored 11 seconds apart midway through the game as St. George鈥檚 grabbed a 3-1 lead. Delta would quickly respond with two goals of their own as Eli Vickers (1G, 1A) and Tripp Fischer found the back of the net less than four minutes apart. Defenseman Alexander Rode (1G, 1A) picked the perfect time to score his first goal of the season, giving St. George鈥檚 the lead with 8:51 remaining.
