OHA Edmonton (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U15 Prep
OHA Edmonton hit the ground running early Saturday morning, and while RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg made things close, OHA Edmonton kept things in control to see out the victory. Five different goal scorers within the first 26 minutes of the hockey game saw OHA Edmonton jump out to a 5-0 lead, with Josh Frazer’s three points (1G, 2A) leading the way. It would have been easy for RHA Winnipeg to give up at that point in the game, but Brad Purdie’s team gave OHA Edmonton everything they could handle. Two points each from Athens Shingoose (1G, 1A) and Cohen Hlady (1G, 1A) helped RHA Winnipeg back in the game, cutting the lead to two goals, but the late push ran into OHA Edmonton’s Owen Amyotte, who made 9 saves on 10 third-period shots.Ìý
STAR Hockey Academy (6) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U17 Prep
If you were late tuning into STAR Hockey Academy and Shawnigan Lake School’s first period, you’d have missed a wild first five minutes. Shawnigan notched the game’s first goal through Terran Johal just 74 seconds in, a lead that was significantly shorter-lived than Johal’s squad would have preferred. After quickly earning a man advantage, STAR HA took barely two minutes after going down to tie the game up, with an Adrian Afrakov powerplay goal dragging things back to 1-1. Anderson Carter would score the go-ahead goal for STAR later in the opening frame, giving his team a 2-1 lead after a first period in which the shots ended in a 12-12 tie. STAR controlled the game’s final two periods, outshooting Shawnigan by a 23-11 margin over the final forty minutes. Max Carpenter, Typer Gillespie, Max White, and Jaxson Trichak would score for STAR, with Anderson Carter’s three points (1G, 2A) the standout for STAR.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep
Prairie Hockey Academy last faced the Calgary International Hockey Academy in their season opener, a heartbreaking 6-5 loss on September 14. Both teams did not see one another again until today, and while memories of PHA’s loss would by now be long faded, you wouldn’t have known it based on the way they started the game, immediately peppering Braxton Gibson with what turned out to be 21 first period shots. Despite PHA’s control, CIHA did well in the first period to soak up the pressure and push back, earning the game’s first goal off the stick of Mason Moran. Kade Kahovec responded with his first of two goals on the day to send the game into the break tied. An early shorthanded goal from PHA’s Dane Chalupa launched his team’s second period, and with the momentum gained from scoring on the penalty kill, PHA truly never looked back. Bryden Wagner scored before Kahovec grabbed his second, sending the game into the third period with PHA ahead 4-1. Lucas Graham, Soren Hayden, and Ethan Unger would all score for PHA in the third, and Drake Mooney shut the door, making 30 stops on 31 CIHA attempts to help his side to a 7-1 victory.
North Shore Warriors (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep
Colton Brum wasted absolutely no time in starting the Saturday morning party for his Delta Hockey Academy Black team, with Brum’s goal coming a mere 58 seconds into the battle with the North Shore Warriors. North Shore’s Elias Mitrikas did everything he could in between the pipes for his side, but Delta Black suffocated anything North Shore could muster, throwing everything they had at Mitrikas’ net. Ethan Kitchen would pop up with a pair of goals, and after a first period that saw them outshoot their opponent by an 18-2 margin, Delta Black led 3-0 after one. The second marginally improved for North Shore, but Jayden Ni scored the only goal of the period for Delta Black to send them into the final twenty minutes ahead by four. North Shore remained determined, which came out in their third-period play, with the Warriors earning a game-high 11 shots in the period, and Riley Taylor scoring the only goal. Despite not popping up with a goal, Charlie Leonard (3A) and Brady Cyr (2A) led the way with a combined five points for Delta Black.
CIH Academy (2) vs Ulysse Academie East (4) U18Ìý
Ulysse Academie’s perfect February was in jeopardy on Saturday with the arrival of the Canadian International Hockey Academy, a side that had pushed Ulysse to the brink when the two teams met back on January 22, a game which ended 4-3 in overtime for Ulysse. Noah Martin made a season-high 60 saves in that game, and while one-upping that performance should seemingly have been impossible, Martin looked like he may just do so after the first period. Ulysse outshot CIH Academy 24-4 in the first period but didn’t get the puck behind Martin until a powerplay opportunity early in the second, as Ezekiel Lambert fired home through traffic from the top of the slot to open the scoring. Ulysse earned just one goal through the first half of the game but scored twice in the span of just 39 seconds past the halfway point of the second, with Cedrick Fortin’s 2-0 goal quickly followed by one from Alexis Boyer to put his team up by three. It didn’t take long for a response from CIH, as Nikita Marinin grabbed one back, and it looked like they could really make their opponents nervous. Quinton Kakabat scored early in the third to make it 3-2, but that was as close as CIH could get, with Leonidas Barkoulas standing tall in between the pipes for Ulysse, and Arnaud Roberge sealing the victory with 54 seconds left in the third.Ìý
Notre Dame (1) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep
The Notre Dame Hounds U15 Prep team has had a challenging season, and after their first period against Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, Saturday’s game didn’t seem like it would ultimately belong to Notre Dame. Brock Vodden scored the only goal of a first period controlled by Pilot Mound, but the first intermission seemed to flip the script. The Hounds responded by playing a completely dominant second period, and after outshooting their opponents 23-5 in the middle frame, Pilot Mound goaltender Gavin Hildebrand remained the only thing in the way of Notre Dame at least finding their way back to 1-1. It was clear another twenty minutes of offensive chance generation for Notre Dame wasn’t going to be something Pilot Mound was likely to survive, but they earned a late second-period powerplay thanks to a bench minor from the Hounds. The man advantage carried into the third, and just 39 seconds into the final frame, Fynn Huberdeau made it 2-0 Pilot Mound. Kashton Masney beat Hildebrand with just over 11 minutes to play, but Kai Dingwall’s empty-net goal sealed things for Pilot Mound, with the 3-1 win coming thanks to 50 stops from a heroic Hildebrand.
Edge School (11) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
Second Place in the CSSHL U18 Prep standings is still very much within the grasp of an Edge School squad that came into Saturday’s battle with Pilot Mound Hockey Academy as the heavy favourites. However, a disastrous 46 seconds in the first period threatened to derail Edge’s pursuit of victory, with quick goals from William L’Heureux and William Picklyk giving Pilot Mound a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better line in U18 hockey than the top line for Edge, and it was indeed Edge’s first line that responded quickly, with Adam M’hamed’s excellent season continuing less than thirty seconds after going down by two, thanks to assists from Brock England and Mirco Dufour. The equalizer came from Reed Reschny, tying things up at two just shy of the halfway point of the first, before M’hamed, England, and Dufour took over once more. Dufour finished off the first period with a pair of goals, with two assists each from England and M’hamed simply a precursor for Dufour finishing his natural hat-trick early in the second, with his goal once more assisted by M’hamed and England. Reschny quickly popped up with his second of the game to extend the lead, and by then, Pilot Mound’s 2-0 lead seemed a very distant memory. Adam M’Hand scored his second, Nick Wytrychowski scored, and Keegan De Sa scored two to send Edge into the third period with a 10-2 lead. Briggs Olson scored for Pilot Mound just 41 seconds into the final frame, a goal that stood as the only one of the third until the final minute. Seattle Thunderbirds first-round pick Brock England scored late, extending his personal point streak to six games, and capping off Edge School’s 11-3 victory. England finished the game with five points (1G, 4A), with his linemates Adam M’hamed (2G, 4A), and Mirco Dufour (3G, 1A), combining with England to form a line which earned 15 points in the game.Ìý
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna vs Yale Hockey Academy U15
There’s only so much a goaltender can do, as Lucas Kautz would likely be reminding the rest of his RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna side after their game against Yale Hockey Academy. Kautz made 21 saves on 22 shots in the first period alone, and RHA Kelowna did reward their goaltender with the game’s first goal, coming from Dexter Labrecque. Ben Bury equalized, sending the game into the break knotted up at 1, despite the 22-6 edge in shots on goal for Yale. The pressure Yale applied to the brick wall in net for RHA Kelowna was eventually too much to bear, and after Ryker Stevens made it 2-1 early in the second, it seemed the floodgates were opened following that. Hunter Stewart, Chase Phillips and a pair each from Kaleb Newson and Max Ritchey capped off the dominant win for Yale, outshooting their opponents 63-19 and winning 8-1.
North Shore Warriors (6) vs Notre Dame (4) U15
If you asked somebody for the definition of a seesaw hockey game, the description they give would likely resemble Saturday’s matchup between North Shore Warriors and Notre Dame Hounds. Notre Dame controlled the game’s first period, outshooting North Shore 14-5, but failing to beat Benjamin Boudreau. Nicholas Sheldon scored late in the first to, against the run of play, give North Shore the lead. Cohen Waite scored twice in the early stages of the second period to extend the Warriors’ lead to 3-0, a spot they’d have been thrilled with given the game’s flow. Later in the second period, a powerplay goal from Dylan Birnie gave Notre Dame a lifeline, with Drew Patterson scoring less than two minutes after Birnie’s goal to get back within one. The third period was a thrilling back-and-forth, with William Clarke scoring first to bring the Hounds back to tied before Tony Han scored for North Shore and made it 4-3 Warriors. Clarke responded with his second equalizer of the third period, and the game marched toward its close still tied. Mattias Gallina’s powerplay goal with 3:05 to play gave North Shore a lead they’d this time refuse to relinquish, and Cohen Waite finished his hat-trick into the empty net to seal a 6-4 win for the North Shore Warriors.
Ontario Hockey Academy (1) vs Selwyn House School East (2) U17
Selwyn House School’s U17 team played a near-perfect month of January, with their lone blemish a 4-1 loss to Bishop’s College School. Conversely, Ontario Hockey Academy came in looking to improve, with their 2025 calendar year being largely disappointing thus far, having won just once, a stat they’d be eager to change. In the effort to that end, OHA hit the front with just over seven minutes gone, thanks to Yota Matsumura, giving Ontario Hockey Academy a lead they’d hold well into the second period. Eventually, Selwyn found their tying goal, thanks in part to a wonderful cross-ice feed from Lucas Tzaferis that was deposited by Gianluca Velenosi. The game remained tied for the bulk of the third, with goaltenders Mathis Bernier for OHA and Luca Ottoni for Selwyn each refusing to be one-upped by the other, before Tommy Nicolopoulos went off for slashing. The powerplay for OHA was their first in the game since the first half of the second period, with four straight Selwyn powerplays all killed off by the Ontario Hockey Academy side that saw this as their opportunity to take the lead back. Jackson Pitfeld, however, had other ideas, scoring on a shorthanded breakaway to give Selwyn a 2-1 lead. Ottoni stood tall to close things out, earning his team another win, and downing an OHA team that is still on the hunt for their second CSSHL victory of the calendar year.Ìý
South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Notre Dame (1) U17 Prep
The only previous matchup between Notre Dame U17 Prep and the South Alberta Hockey Academy U17 Prep this season so far was one of the most memorable games the CSSHL has seen so far; the Notre Dame Hounds roared out of the gate, scoring four before the midway point to at one point lead 4-0 with seven and a half minutes left in the second. SAHA took control from there, scoring six unanswered to win 6-4. SAHA started the game determined to not give Notre Dame an inch, let alone such a large lead, throwing 31 first-period shots on Clay Harmon’s goal. They scored twice through Ryker Klassen and Karter Kurpjuweit to take a 2-0 lead into the break and would make it 3-0 through forty minutes thanks to Dalin Nixon scoring the only goal of the middle frame. Brennan Finke and Noah Alexander extended the SAHA lead in the third, with Khalen Menger’s powerplay goal for Notre Dame a mere consolation in a game that saw SAHA hit Notre Dame’s net with 69 shots in the 5-1 win.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U18 Prep
Calgary International Hockey Academy’s weekend trip to Manitoba kicked off against RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg on Saturday, a squad flying high after their win over Edge School’s U18 Prep team on Friday night. However, Saturday marked a third consecutive day with a game for RHA Winnipeg, and it looked evident early that of the two sides, CIHA was the one with the fresh legs. Their control over the first period earned them the game’s first goal, with Zee Jamal notching the only score of the first period. Scott Sandilands took a mere 66 seconds of the second period to double the CIHA lead, a lead ultimately short-lived thanks to a Max Dowse equalizer just 31 seconds later. RHA grew into the game as things went on, but couldn’t find a way to beat Sartaj Dhami, who was rewarded by his team for his efforts early in the third period. Cage Smith scored 3:14 in to make it 3-1, and while Ben Dnes would pull his team back within one again, RHA Winnipeg couldn’t find a tying goal, and Townes Kozicky’s empty-netter sealed the 4-2 victory in favour of CIHA.
Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green Female (6) U18 Prep
Molly Cole (2G, 1A) and London McDavid (2G) led the way for Delta Hockey Academy Green in a 6-3 victory over Shawnigan Lake School. The two squads traded punches in the first with Taya Lonsdale giving Shawnigan an early advantage before Cole scored for Delta Green to knot the game up 1-1. Delta Green pulled away in the second with goals from McDavid, Avery Wilson, Madison Batch, and Cole. Leah Hill (2G, 1A) potted two goals in the third for Shawnigan Lake but it wouldn’t be enough with McDavid getting her second of the game for Delta Green to seal it. Maisie Cope made 33 saves in Delta Green’s victory. Alix Walchuk kicked out 42 shots for Shawnigan Lake in a losing effort.Ìý
Edge School (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U15 Prep
No love was lost in the Battle of Alberta in Saturday’s Featured Contest between Edge School and the Northern Alberta Xtreme. NAX would get the early jump on Edge after Kalen Miles (4G) jammed home a loose puck in front for the go ahead lead. Edge would respond soon after with a powerplay marker of their own courtesy of Drew Wilkinson. NAX would restore their lead a couple minutes later after Riley Brown (1G, 2A) wired home his 16th of the campaign. NAX would catch a heater to start the second, scoring three unanswered goals in a span of two minutes. Miles would net two of the three, completing his hat-trick. Tensions would begin to flare up before the ice clean and the sparks would continue to fly in the third. Miles would bury his fourth of the afternoon to ignite the scoring in the third while Remy Koch (1G, 1A) would get one back for Edge in the late stages. Karter Gibson (19/21) made 19-saves to pick up the win between the pipes while Kaidyn Thomas (36/43) made 36-saves in the loss.
St. Mary’s Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Female (1) U18 Prep
Brooke Froese’s (2G, 1A) three-point game helped St. Mary’s Academy take down Pilot Mound Hockey Academy 4-1. St. Mary’s offensive attack was going strong in the first, scoring three times including two markers from Froese and a goal from Jade Pelland. Jakiah Curle gave St. Mary’s their biggest lead of the game with an early second period goal. A few minutes later, Jayden Quinn got Pilot Mound on the board. Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine shut down the Buffaloes from there, turning aside 25 of 26 shots in St. Mary’s victory. Sutter Reeves was perfect in relief for Pilot Mound, stopping all 20 shots she faced.Ìý
Delta Hockey Academy Black (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U15
Brayden Allen 16-save performance backed Delta Hockey Academy Black to a 6-1 win over Prairie Hockey Academy. After a scoreless first period, Delta’s offense exploded with four goals from Bentley Gillis, Silas Colina (2G/1A), Jesse Parmar, and Manav Kalia (1G, 1A). Delta continued to pour it on in the third. First, it was Colina getting his second of the game and then Taegon Park added another to reach the 20-goal mark on the season. Prairie Hockey Academy’s Kaleb Crowe spoiled Allen’s shutout bid by scoring with just over six minutes to go.Ìý
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep

Tony Cabelka scored in the final minutes of the frame to send Yale to the dressing with a two goal lead. Massey continued his big day with a goal in the second and a powerplay marker in third to record his first career hat-trick in the CSSHL. A couple minutes later, RHA Kelowna’s Mason Poitras scored to cut the deficit down to 4-1. Yale would run away with it after that getting goals from Yianni Sergiannidis, Alex Li, and Massey. Alexandre Jacques and Jayden Oleskiw (2G) pushed out a 2-0 lead with first period goals. Shaun Hildebrandt (1G, 2A) extended the lead with a powerplay marker in the second. Will Stonehouse turned aside 33 shots for Shawnigan Lake in a losing effort.Ìý
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) U17 Prep
Knox Burton’s (2G, 2A) four-point game helped RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg score a big 8-1 win over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy. Barrett Hayes was under siege for much of the first period but stood tall, stopping 20 of 21 shots. RHA Winnipeg’s Gavin Quennelle scored to put the lone blemish on Hayes’ record in the opening frame. The pressure proved to be too much in the second with Spencer Kuntz and Brady Keith to make it a three-goal bulge before Burton tallied a pair of goals late in the frame to make it 5-0. Isaac Sousa, Peyton Thiessen, and Wyatt Jones rounded out the goal scoring for RHA Winnipeg in the third. Kolton Bigras potted Pilot Mound’s only goal of the contest midway through the third. Peyton May scored the shootout winner to propel Delta Hockey Academy to a 2-1 victory over Okanagan Hockey Academy. OHA controlled the play through the first two periods, doubling up Delta in the shot department. Neither team could find their way past the opposing netminder with Delta’s Lynden Mercier making 22 saves and OHA’s Alex Youngson stopping all 11 shots he faced through two. Delta would break the deadlock 24 seconds into the third on a powerplay goal from Lincoln Arkinstall. The seconds were winding down and Mercier was nearing a shutout for Delta but OHA’s had other ideas scoring with 41 seconds to play. After a scoreless overtime, the two teams headed to a shootout. Christian Sum (Delta) and Jaxson Bartsch (OHA) traded goals in the opening round. The goalies took over after that, stopping six straight shooters. May came up clutch in the fifth round for Delta with Mercier stopping the final shooter to seal the win. Mercier made 31 saves in Delta’s victory. North Shore Warriors (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

Later in the period, Liam McCloy doubled North Shore’s lead with his first goal since January 18th. Milanov carried his shutout bid into the third period but PCHA’s Brayden Barker broke through four minutes in. PCHA applied heavy pressure in the third outshooting North Shore 19-4. That wouldn’t phase Milanov who turned aside 18 shots in third to preserve the win. Liam Russell played a strong game for Pacific Coast, stopping 24 of the 26 shots he faced.Ìý

That would be short-lived with Edge’s Kyle Oakenfold (1G, 1A) evening the score with a powerplay marker. The teams were all square heading into the third but then NAX’s Emmett Jones struck on the powerplay for the game-winning goal. Denis would put the game away with an empty-netter in the dying seconds. Both goalies played strong games. Cam Hoose made 30 saves for NAX with Carsten Leyerzapf stopping 43 shots.ÌýÌý

Byron Chin would get the Saints on the board with a late goal of their own, wiring home a wicked wrister from the slot with 5-seconds remaining in the second.
