Delta Hockey Academy Black (11) vs Notre Dame (3) U15
Theoretical betting odds for this game would have heavily favoured Delta Black, with Notre Dame’s U15 team facing an uphill battle. The task at hand quickly became even more difficult for Notre Dame, thanks to two quick first-period goals from Silas Colina (2G, 1A). Delta would lead by three through one before exploding for six in the second, ultimately winning 11-1. In addition to the three points from Colina, Kevin Goodale (3G) and Woojin Seo (1G, 2A) each had big offensive games.Ìý
Notre Dame (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) U15 Prep
The action between Notre Dame U15 Prep and RINK Hockey Academy U15 Prep took a mere 68 seconds to get going, thanks to Maddex Mason’s early goal. Athens Shingoose struck later in the first with his 25th goal of the season, launching him into the top five U15 Prep goal scorers. Lukas Lundgren was able to drag Notre Dame back in it with a late goal in the first, but a pair in the second from Markus Knaub and Zac Howell extended RINK Winnipeg’s lead beyond what Notre Dame would be able to catch. Easton Pitz’s three points (1G, 2A) led the way in RINK Winnipeg’s 6-3 win.Ìý
STAR Hockey Academy (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U15
Hockey games at the youth and junior levels are often as exciting as they are because of their drastic momentum shifts and large lead changes. That was embodied by STAR Hockey Academy and Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s Sunday morning battle in Victoria. The first-period domination by STAR was palpable, outshooting PCHA 19-6 and outsourcing their opponent 3-0 after one. However, that’s where the script flipped, as the second period unfolded in nearly the exact opposite way of the first, and PCHA dragged the game to 3-3 through two periods. Brayden Bardwell (2G) scored at the start of the third to give STAR the lead, a lead that ultimately had the same fate as their previous advantage. Callan McCall (1G) and Brayden Lindsay (2G) turned the third period around, ostensiblyÌý
St. George’s School (6) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep
St. George’s School U15 Prep’s ace up their sleeve all season long has been Louis Oscar Holowaychuk, who came into Sunday’s game against Delta Hockey Academy leading the CSSHL U15 Prep division in goals with 34, a statistic he’d improve upon during the game’s first period, scoring the only goal to give St. George’s a 1-0 lead through one. Delta Hockey Academy stayed competitive in the first, but couldn’t handle St. George’s second-period onslaught. Holowaychuk (2G) would add another, with two points apiece from Holden Wouters (2A) and Quinn Pickering (2A) helping St. George’s to a 5-0 lead through forty minutes. Delta’s third-period push was largely thanks to Peter Banicevic’s hat-trick, making St. George’s School nervous, but they were ultimately able to hang on for a 6-3 win.Ìý
Edge School (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U17
Edge School U17 and RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U17’s Sunday game had pretty much everything you could ask from a battle between two evenly-matched teams hungry for a win. RHA Winnipeg outscored Edge 2-1 in the first, before Edge did so in the second, sending the game into the third period tied. Both teams scored two powerplay goals apiece in the first two periods, but Rylan Saunders (1G, 1A) broke through on a third-period man advantage to give his team a lead they’d hold for less than three minutes before Atticus Cruz (2G, 1A) levelled things back up for RHA Winnipeg. Ultimately, Winston Chicilo (1G) sealed Edge School’s victory in overtime, ending things 5-4 in favour of Edge in a game that saw the two teams combine for 100 shots on goal.
St. George’s School (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (5) U15
More momentum-changing back-and-forth hockey in the U15 division saw St. George’s School and Prairie Hockey Academy play a game that saw PHA hit the ground not just running, but sprinting. They owned the first 13:37 of the game, and led by two goals from Tristan Reimer, took a 3-0 lead over SGS. Nick Hill (2G, 1A) responded for St. George’s to get them within two heading into the first intermission. PHA’s run of three consecutive goals to start the game was nullified by the halfway point of the second, with two more goals from St. George’s levelling the game up at three before Hudson Honey (1G, 1A) scored to extend Prairie’s lead to 4-3 through two. St. George’s turned the pressure up to maximum at the start of the third period, and while Addison Wanner (1G, 2A) would score short handed to keep his PHA team in the game, it was in vain. Liam McLean (1G, 1A) and Gavin Panaich (1G, 1A) each scored in the third to lead St George’s to a come-from-behind 6-5 victory.
North Shore Warriors (6) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U15
As you’ve surely seen throughout this weekend’s CSSHL action, a big first-period or early lead can mean very little if you don’t follow it up during the rest of the game. The North Shore Warriors U15 nearly fell victim to the same trend Sunday when they took on RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U15. After Keegan Hole (2G) led the Warriors out of the first period with a 4-0 lead, North Shore’s control of the game was threatened by two Eli Wasylyk (2G, 1A) goals in the second period, but a late goal from Camden Garnett for North Shore kept his team three goals in front. Jack Arseniuk (1G, 1A) and Rex Norman (1G, 2A) traded goals early in the third period before an onslaught by RHA Winnipeg late in the third period dragged them back within one of a North Shore team that had led them by four back in the second period. The comeback came up short, though, and North Shore survived for the 6-5 win.Ìý
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs BWC Academy U15 (5)
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s trip to the coast this weekend didn’t have as pleasant a start as they would have hoped, falling twice at the hands of Yale Hockey Academy before their Sunday morning battle against the Burnaby Winter Club Academy. Converse to RHA Kelowna, BWC was fresh, last having played over a week ago, and it showed off the hop. Ethan Kartadinata (2G) scored 2:04 into the game to make it 1-0. Despite their 24-6 shots on goal margin in the first period, Austin Schultz’s equalizing goal sent the game into the first intermission tied at one. The ice would remain similarly tilted into the second, with BWC threatening to blow the game open, but time and time again failing to beat Griffin Prairie Chicken in the RHA Kelowna goal. Rhys McFarlane scored the only goal of the second period to give BWC a 2-1 lead through the first forty minutes, and an early third-period powerplay opportunity finally gave BWC a two-goal lead, with Eric Prexler (1G, 1A) able to convert to make it 3-1. Hayden Carpenter responded for RHA Kelowna, dragging them within one, but BWC ensured that was only temporary, scoring twice late to close out a 5-2 win.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
Two of the best U18 Prep teams in the CSSHL this season clashed in Caronport on Sunday, and while the Northern Alberta Xtreme still remained first in the standings, Prairie Hockey Academy hadn’t lost since mid-December. Hubert Larose (1G, 2A) started his night off with an assist on Noah Kelly’s opening goal to help Prairie to a 1-0 lead a mere 71 seconds into the game. The first period’s scoreline would lie dormant until the late stages when Maddox Rose scored NAX’s equalizer. The second period would follow a similar mould, with an early Prairie goal forcing NAX to chase the game, as Rylan Molde scored his sixth. Darius Hordal (1G, 1A), who had set up the first goal for NAX, scored the second on a powerplay to drag his team back to level, with neither team able to break through in regulation time. Anybody hoping they’d be tuning into a long overtime would have been disappointed, but anybody hoping for an electrifying end would have been satisfied. Right off the draw in overtime, Larose did amazingly well to steal, shoot, and score just eight seconds into the extra frame, giving his team an upset 3-2 win.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep
Okanagan Hockey Academy’s three-game weekend series with STAR Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep team wasn’t what they’d hoped for after they dropped their second straight contest on Saturday night, meaning Sunday was their final chance to beat STAR. The first forty minutes of the game belonged to STAR, leading 2-1 through two periods in which they outshot OHA 26-14. The script flipped in the third, and thanks in part to their six third-period power play opportunities, OHA absolutely poured on the pressure, only failing to equalize thanks to the heroics of STAR goaltender Alexander Petukhov. Daniel Makovetskiy maintained his goal-per-game average for STAR on their own third-period powerplay to make it 3-1, and while Gage Mark scored late to drag OHA back within one, they couldn’t tie the game, and STAR held on for the victory.Ìý
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Edge School (5) U15 Prep
Edge School’s U15 Prep team threw a total of 57 shots on goal during their Sunday game against the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, with Yuki Kido under fire throughout the contest, doing his best to stem the tide in the crease. Greyson Bauer led the way with a pair of goals for Edge, whose goaltender Delano Pockar only needed to make 14 saves to earn his shutout. Edge remains in the top three of the CSSHL U15 Prep rankings, bouncing back after their loss to the Northern Alberta Xtreme last night.Ìý
Calgary International Hockey Academy (6) vs Notre Dame (2) U17 Prep
The Calgary International Hockey Academy’s weekend road trip has been a mixed bag, with a blowout victory followed by a loss of the same nature. They’d swing the pendulum back in their favour on Sunday, suffocating a Notre Dame Hounds team that couldn’t stay in the contest with CIHA for long. Aidan McIntosh finished the game with a hat-trick, and even though the Hounds showed up to play in the third period, they couldn’t make up for the four-goal hole they were left in after two periods. Chad Clark (1G, 1A) and Zane Rains (2A) joined McIntosh in earning multi-point efforts for CIHA in the 6-2 win.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (1) U17 Prep
So far, the Indigenous Sports Academy U17 Prep team have won just once since November, and nobody seemed more determined to change that than Holden Fauchon in the ISA goal, as he faced a total of 52 shots in today’s game. His ten saves in the first and 19 saves in the second against the South Alberta Hockey Academy, and through those forty minutes, it was largely his heroics that helped the game head into the third period tied 1-1. Fauchon managed to stand on his head well into the third period, but unfortunately, the floodgates could only hold strong for so long. SAHA scored four goals in a seven-minute span in the third period, with IHA unable to muster anything offensively in response, leading to a SAHA win that saw Brennan Finke (1G, 1A), Grady McLeod (2A), and Dalin Nixson (2A) all earn multi-point games.Ìý
BWC Academy (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
Okanagan Hockey Academy came one game shy of a perfect record in January, losing 3-2 to RHA Kelowna in their last game of the month. That game remained the only loss of 2025 for OHA as they took on BWC Academy in the second half of their back-to-back on Sunday, with OHA prevailing 5-1 on Saturday night. Star forward Maxx Parfitt (1G, 1A) has been the man time and time again this season for OHA, and it took him less than a minute on his team’s first powerplay of the game to open the scoring and set his team on their way. Marcus Domhof (1G, 1A) and Brody McLean each scored to extend OHA’s lead to 3-0 prior to the end of the first period, and despite an Oleksii Zhekov goal for BWC early in the second, the OHA lead would be too much for BWC to recover from. Charlie Peppinck was solid in victory for his squad, making 26 saves in the 5-1 win.Ìý
STAR Hockey Academy (6) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
STAR Hockey Academy and Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep battle occurred right after the matchup between their two U15 contingents was winding to a close. That game saw STAR jump out to a big lead and PCHA mounted a comeback victory, and ironically, the later game between the two sides in the U17 Prep division saw a similarly dramatic comeback. The first half of the game belonged to PCHA, with Haydyn Brooks (1G, 1A) and Chase Heide (1G, 1A) paving their team’s path to a 5-1 lead. Sometime late in the second period, it seemed the STAR squad woke up. Ewan Willers (1G, 1A) and Zak Stabbler (2G) scored within 32 seconds of one another near the end of the second period to make the game a contest once more, and STAR’s momentum carried into the third. Colton Stabbler (2G, 2A), who had scored STAR’s first-period goal, took over the period, notching two early assists to help his team tie the game before striking the winner with 55 seconds remaining in the third. STAR’s five consecutive goals marked an incredible comeback, with the team winning a 6-5 thriller.ÌýÌý
North Shore Warriors (8) vs St. George’s School (3) U17 Prep
The North Shore Warriors’ U17 Prep team had been bested by St. George’s School in each of their previous matches this season, and with SGS on a four-game losing skid, North Shore would have been going into their Sunday game itching for some retribution. Led by a hat-trick from Chase Vossenaar (3G, 1A) and three points apiece from Lucas Lekakis (1G, 2A), and Robert Orr (3A) helped North Shore to an 8-0 lead by the final minute of the second period, ostensibly rendering further proceedings moot. Jayan Sinha scored twice in the third period to help the look of St. George’s stat line, but SGS wouldn’t be able to get closer than that, and North Shore won 8-3.
Balmoral Hall School (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg Female (3) U18 Prep
Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg’s Female U18 Prep side has had a very solid 2025 so far, with their only two losses coming to OHA Edmonton in January. RHA Winnipeg and Balmoral Hall School played a thriller on Saturday that saw a 4–2 Balmoral lead squandered in the third, with RHA Winnipeg scoring four third-period goals and winning 6-5. The razor-thin nature of last night’s result led straight into today’s game, with the two teams playing a back-and-forth game in which both teams held the lead. Rowyn Street (2G, 1A) has been on fire of late for RHA Winnipeg, now with a staggering seven goals and nine points in her last three games. Her heroics were matched by Balmoral’s determination to get their team back in the win column after having a three-game winning streak snapped by RHA Winnipeg the night before. With the game winding to a close tied, Lucy Ring (1G, 1A) and Maddie Kaiser (2G) both scored in the final six minutes of the third period to help Balmoral to a 5-3 win, defeating Female U18 Prep division goal-scoring leader Rowyn Street (28) and her RHA Winnipeg team.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U15 Prep
Coming into Sunday’s game, RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s most recent victory came against these same North Shore Warriors eight days ago, with RHA Kelowna having lost three straight games since then. The 8-0 drumming that North Shore suffered at the hands of RHA Kelowna last weekend would have been a scoreline North Shore would be extremely eager to avenge, meaning both teams had a fire under them to earn a victory. Cole Hamakawa (2G) scored the only goal of the first to give RHA Kelowna a lead before Edward Kemp (2G) tied the game early in the second. RHA Kelowna would take a lead and have North Shore equalize again before Hamakawa’s second of the game sent his team into the third with a one-goal lead. Jack Leslie extended RHA Kelowna’s lead with an early third-period goal, and even though Kemp would score again to drag North Shore within one, they couldn’t find a tying goal. RHA Kelowna won 4-3, surviving a 6-on-4 late, partially thanks to Dylan Mingo, who made 22 saves in the win.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (8/OT) vs OHA Edmonton (7) U15 Prep
A high scoring affair saw the two Edmonton area teams combine for 15 goals in a back and forth matchup Sunday. NAX led 2-1 after 20 while OHA Edmonton bested them 2-1 in the second as the game was tied 3-3 heading into the third. Tucker Porter gave OHA Edmonton their first lead 3:33 into the third while Damian Anderson and Kael Scott (1G, 1A) added power play goals to give their team a 6-3 advantage. Riley Brown (1G, 4A) would get one back for NAX while shorthanded just 21 seconds later. Micah Montgomery’s (2G) second goal of the game gave OHA Edmonton a commanding 7-4 win with less than 10 minutes left. Kalen Miles (1G, 2A) and Will Kelts (2G, 1A) scored 49 seconds apart to bring their team within one and Easton Arndt (3G) tipped home a point shot in the final minute to tie the game and force overtime. In OT, Arndt would complete the hat-trick and give NAX the 8-7 come-from-behind win. With three assists in the loss, Chayse Fedoriuk set the CSSHL U15 Prep single season assist record by a defenseman, passing Nashville Predators first round NHL Draft pick Tanner Molendyk.Ìý
BWC Academy (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
Jonathan Bitonti scored his 20th of the season and Ethan Makokis (1G, 1A) countered less than five minutes later by hitting double digit goals as the two teams were even after 20. Chayse Johnson (53/54) and Adler Ames (39/41) kept clean sheets in the final 40 minutes to send the game to overtime. InÌý the extra frame, defenseman Cohen Williams scored his fourth of the year just 16 seconds in to give OHA the 2-1 lead.Ìý
Notre Dame (4) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (8) U18 Prep
ISA came flying out of the gates as Phoenix Evans, Emery Medicine Shield (2G, 2A), Caelen Cross and Tayvian Delorme (1G, 4A) all scored in the first less than five minutes apart. Brendan Hurley and Jaden Prairie Chicken (2G, 1A) traded goals in the second as there remained a four goal differential heading into the third. Ethan Agawa (1G, 3A) extended the lead early in the third with a shorthanded marker, his fourth goal of the season. Tyler Norman and Prairie Chicken traded goals early in the period before Ben Bugeaud and Medicine Shield did the game midway through the frame. Brendan Choi (1G, 1A) added a late marker for Notre Dame but it was nothing more than a consolation marker as ISA took home an 8-4 win. Kael Ratt (26/30) made 26 saves in the win.Ìý
Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep
Backed by a 16 save shutout from Cole Prelusky (16/16), CIHA beat PMHA 4-0 Sunday. Zee Jamal (2G) scored just 23 seconds in and Cage Smith (1G, 1A) added his 17th of the year late in the period. Prelusky and Aiden Trapp (57/61) kept clean sheets in the second period as it remained a 2-0 game heading into the third. Jamal would score his second of the game 6:13 into the third and Benett Kelly added his eighth of the season as CIHA defenders scored three of the four CIHA goals in the win.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) Female U18 Prep
Jorja Moore (19/19) made 19 saves for her fourth shutout of the season as OHA beat OHA Black 2-0. Sophia Makokis (1G, 1A) scored the game winning goal with 5:03 left in the first period. After a scoreless second, Mena Bhatt (1G, 1A) added a power play marker with 16 seconds left to secure the OHA win. Teagan Janzen (45/47) made 45 saves in the loss.Ìý
North Shore Warriors (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (9) Female U18 Prep
Jordan Blouin (2G, 1A) and Jillian McLaughlin (2G) each scored twice to lift RHA Kelowna to a 9-0 win Sunday. Alida Korte (2A), Emelia McDermid (2A) and Callie Rice (2A) chipped in with two assists each and Jaya Schippel (12/12) made 12 saves for her fourth shutout of the season. Mackenzie Ayou (47/56) faced 56 shots in the loss. RHA Kelowna forward Kennedy Sisson played in her 127 career regular season or playoff game, setting the CSSHL Female All-Time Record.Ìý
Notre Dame (4) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (5/OT) U17
Prairie took the lead just 2:23 in as Kase Gellner (1G, 2A) scored his seventh goal of the season. Fresh off a four goal outing in Notre Dame’s last game Friday, Landon Sokoloski (1G, 1A) remained hot with a power play goal 2:14 later, giving him his eighth goal in six games this season. Cohen Greenwood would restore the Prairie lead exactly two minutes later with his 11th of the year. Luke White tied the game with 18 seconds left in the period and Jordan Van Langen hit double digit goals 4:38 into the second while on the power play to give Notre Dame their first lead. Defenseman Tyson Ross (3G, 1A) would level the score 1:14 later with his ninth of the season. Brandon Thompson (1G, 2A) scored a go-ahead goal for Notre Dame 6:36 into the third with a shorthanded marker. A late Notre Dame penalty gave Prairie a chance to equalize, with Ross scoring his second of the game with 57 seconds left to send the game to overtime. In OT, Ross would complete the hat-trick just 35 seconds in to give Prairie a 5-4 win in the last game of the day on Super Bowl Sunday. Colton Lutz (33/37) made 33 saves and defenseman Seth Watson (4A) had four assists for Prairie in the win.
