Delta Green (20-2-1) handed RHA Kelowna (20-1-0) their first loss of the 2023/24 season. Maisie Cope (49/50) stood on her head, making 49 saves to lead the Delta Green upset. Karington Mollin (2G) scored the lone first period goal as Delta Green led 1-0 all the way into the third period. Gracie Graham tied the game 5:37 into the third. Mollin would strike again, this time with 4:23 left, giving Delta Green the hard fought 2-1 win. Madison Bowtell (18/20) was charged with her first loss of the season.听
Fort Erie International Academy (5/SO) vs Mount Academy (4) Eastern U17
Shane Delamaire opened the scoring with his 10th goal of the season but FEIA led 2-1 after 20 on goals from Samuel Schelling (2G) and Amirkhan Myrzabek (1G, 2A). Jacob Leger and Cameron Ellsworth scored second period goals to give Mount a 3-2 lead after 40. Schelling and Frederick Rivet (1G, 1A) scored 3:30 apart as the game swung back in favour of Fort Erie. Sebastien Savoie saved the day for Mount, tying the game on the power play with 50 seconds left. The two teams headed straight to a shootout where Ashton Venzon (19/23) stopped both Mount shooters and Rivet and Joel Thompson both beat Stephen Eason (18/22) to give Fort Erie the 5-4 victory.听
Notre Dame (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (18) U15
Easton Arndt (4G, 3A) led the offensive onslaught over Notre Dame, posting a season high seven-point performance. Five other skaters recorded multi-goal efforts while twelve skaters recorded multi-point performances. Cyril Herauf recorded the lone goal for Notre Dame while Tyson Moreland (13/14) picked up the win in goal..听
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (10) U18 Prep
A five-goal performance from Flin Flon, MB鈥檚 Wyatt Stinton (5G, 1A) was the catalyst in this offensive showcase against Pilot Mound. Stinton even managed to go through-the-legs for his fourth goal of the contest. Kayden Turner (1G, 2A) and Koy Funk (1G, 2A) would play supporting roles alongside Stinton, while Brant Catellier (22//22) fought off every single Pilot Mound shot, awarding him with his tenth career CSSHL shutout.
Fort Erie International Academy (1) U17 vs Stanstead College U17 (4) Eastern U17
Stanstead College comfortably cruised to victory in their Friday matchup, rendering the first goal of the contest with only 10-seconds remaining in the opening frame. As the game progressed, Jordan Ilunga (3G) would kindly work his way to a natural hat-trick, scoring twice in the second and once more in the third, cementing Stanstead鈥檚 first win as a guest program this season in the CSSHL.
Northern Alberta Xtreme White (6) vs OHA Edmonton Black (0) U17 Prep
After a scoreless first, NAX White exploded onto the scene scoring a chain of four goals to round up the second period. Brady Whitehead (1G, 2A) got the movement going just 2:19 into the frame and was shortly followed by Hubert Clarke (1G, 1A) and Ben Deacon to further extend that lead. NAX White would add another two in the third frame while Ty Swanson (21/21) turned aside another eight-shots to redeem his fourth shutout of the campaign.听
Calgary International Hockey Academy (5/OT) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U18 Prep
Everything was looking bright for NAX after scoring a pair of goals in the opening frame to jumpstart their gameplan. However, a rapid burst of three goals from CIHA early in the second rattled the eventual outcome of this matchup. In a span of 1:29, Eric Marks, Jake Walker, and Michiel Leenders (1G, 1A) turned NAX鈥檚 two-goal lead into dust. Hunter Dingman would respond shortly after to tie things up at 3-3, but a late tally from Ethan Watkins (1G, 1A) would put CIHA back ahead for the start of the third. Nate Stevens (34/38) would turn away 15 of NAX鈥檚 shots in the third, but would surrender one to Riley Boychuk (1G, 1A). That goal would force this game into overtime where CIHA would stand their ground and claim their victory after being pushed past sixty minutes. Defenceman Jaxen Adam was the OT hero for CIHA, nabbing his seventh goal of the season to push CIHA past their provincial rivals.
Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black Female (6) U18 Prep
Alix Walchuk (11/11) found herself and her academy back in the win column with a shutout performance over OHA Black. The forward trio of Emma Biros (2G), Kira Bui (1G, 2A) and Eden Hamel (1G, 2A) carried a heavy portion of the offence for Delta Black, combining for eight-points on the afternoon.听
Bishop’s College School U17 (6) vs Ulysse Academie U17 (1) Eastern U17
Ulysse Academie鈥檚 Jacob Lessard managed to score the game鈥檚 opening goal part way through the first. However, a late surge from Bishop鈥檚 College would end up setting the tone for the rest of the contest . Jan Vladar would score with just over a minute remaining while Dominic Schnarr (2G) added another just 27-seconds later to give their academy the lead. Adam Straka (2G, 2A) and Schnarr (2G) would go on to each pot a pair in this statement win over Ulysse Academie while Timofey Williams (26/27) played a crucial game in the final twenty to keep Bishop鈥檚 College afloat in their own end.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) vs Edge School (8) U15 Prep
Max George (1G, 1A) opened the scoring 1:05 into the game before Nathan Cole (1G, 1A) and Matthew Hilderman scored in quick succession to give Edge the lead. Graeme Pickering (1G, 2A) responded for RHA Winnipeg with a power play goal to close out the first. Jack Bissoon and Knox Burton traded early second period goals for their respective teams. Edge took control in the final minute of the second as Mirco Dufour, Kingston Sauter (1G, 1A) and Luke Jamieson all scored in a 40 second span. Anthony Bedard brought RHA Winnipeg back within two before Brock England (1G, 4A) restored the three goal lead. Isaac Sousa gave RHA Winnipeg late life but Aden Bouchard (1G, 2A) scored on the power play 46 seconds later to end any hopes of a comeback.听
OHA Edmonton (5) vs Notre Dame (2) U15 Prep
Liam Reed (2G) and Mies Hartmann scored power play goals as OHA Edmonton led 2-0 after the first. Ethan Fitzpatrick (1G, 1A) got Notre Dame on the board with a power play goal of his own 28 seconds into the second. Owen Morrow (1G, 1A) scored the third OHA Edmonton power play goal of the game and Cash Brebant scored an even strength tally 41 seconds later to give their team a 4-1 cushion heading into the third. Reed extended the lead 1:33 into the third and January CSSHL U15 Prep POTM Ryker Doka scored another power play goal for Notre Dame to round out the scoring.听
St. Mary’s Academy (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep
Camryn Falloon scored the lone opening period tally and Mia Faseruk (2G) scored twice in the second as St. Mary鈥檚 led 3-0 going into the final period of play. Mimi Ferreira (12/13) seemed destined for her third shutout of the season but Sheigh Siemens scored with 50 seconds left to play. Alex Mills (41/44) made 41 saves in the loss.听
Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15 Prep
Kayden Runstedler and Trey Tourigny (2G) traded first period goals despite OHA outshooting North Shore 25-4. OHA continued to put pucks on net as Tristan Hoko (3G) scored on 2 of the 14 second period shots. Hoko completed the hat-trick 1:20 into the third before Lucas Lekakis gave North Shore life. But Eli Tverdovsky (2G, 3A) countereed 29 seconds later, Carson Smith (1G, 1A) 1:45 after that, and Tverdovsky and Tourigny added goals in the final minutes as OHA pulled away late for an 8-2 win.听
Ulysse Academie U18 (5) vs CIH Academy Green U18 (2) Eastern U18
Thomy Di Lauro scored his first goal of the season to give Ulysse a 1-0 lead 3:30 into the game. Cayden Shields scored a power play goal 5:28 later to tie the game going into the second. Simon Levesque scored a power play goal, his sixth of the season, to give Ulysse the go-ahead goal. Nathan Desmarais extended the lead early in the third before Neil Iserhoff brought CIH Green back within one in the last half of the third. But Jeremy Lamothe and Emile Dupuis scored 11 seconds apart in the final two minutes to give Ulysse a 5-2 win. Zachary Bergeron (29/31) was credited with the win in net.听
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (8) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) Female U18 Prep
After suffering defeat for the first time this season, RHA Kelowna responded with an 8-2 win over fourth place Shawnigan Lake. Chloe Primerano (2G, 1A) and Kennedy Sisson (2G, 1A) each scored twice, Alida Korte (3A) added three assists and Madison Bowtell (10/12) made 10 saves in the win. Morgan Jackson (1G, 1A) and Mya Lawrence (1G, 1A) scored for Shawnigan in the loss.听
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) U18 Prep
OHA opened the game with six straight goals as David Hoy, Liam Ruck (3G, 1A), Mathis Preston (1G, 3A), Jacob Selent, and Charlie Grant all found the back of the net. Cameron Norrie (1G, 1A) would get RHA Kelowna on the board late in the second with a power play goal. Ethan Hamilton responded for OHA 1:41 later before Joe Iginla countered for RHA Kelowna 12 seconds after that. Ruck completed the hat-trick in the third, his second of the season, and McCarthy Richardson scored a late consolation goal for RHA Kelowna.听
NWCAA Flames AAA (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (8) U15 Prep
Boris Sigachev gave guest team NWCAA Flames a 1-0 lead 36 seconds into the game. However, it was NAX who led 3-1 after the first as Thayne Wasyluk (3G) scored twice and Jackson Tetreault (1G, 2A) once to close out the period. Blake Chorney scored his third shorthanded goal of the season 56 seconds into the second. Owen Hayden halted the NAX run with a goal 2:09 into the middle frame. Aiden Poulin and Jaggar John (1G, 1A) countered for NAX with Wasyluk completing the hat-trick before the end of the period. Trey Bohlken scored the second shorthanded goal of the game for NAX late in the third to give them an 8-2 win.听
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (5) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep
Forrest Karlson (2G, 2A) scored his 13th of the season as PMHA struck first with a power play tally. Nixon Friesen countered for Prairie later in the first period. But PMHA rattled off four straight with Xianen Evans (2G, 1A) scoring the lone second period goal and again early in the third, and Maddox Ramage (1G, 1A) and Karlsson each added third period tallies of their own. Gavin Hildebrand (35/36) made 35 saves for the win. Brady Robert (30/35) was charged with the loss.听
Notre Dame (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep
Prairie outshot Notre Dame 50-20 en route to a 5-1 win Friday. Austin Wentz (2G) and Easton Banda scored first period goals as PHA raced out to a 2-0 lead. Luke Myhre added the lone second period goal to increase the deficit. Trace Langan scored his sixth of the season early in the third before Liam Schaentzler鈥檚 power play goal with 2:58 left to play ended the Gibson Horne (19/20) shutout bid. With a bit of late life Notre Dame pulled Ben Chornomydz (45/49) in favour of the extra attacker but Wentz clinched the Prairie victory with an empty net goal.听
Edge School Gold (7) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep
Brody Rotar (29/29) made 29 saves for his first shutout of the 2023/24 season and Edge Gold beat Mattias Radke (26/33) 7 times to earn the win. Hudson Getzlaf (2G) scored twice while Dallin Antos (3A), Ryan Boyce (1G, 2A) and Ethan Elefante (3A) all had three points in the win.听
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U15 Prep
Tristan Follick and Matthew Morris traded first period goals for their respective teams. Darwin Ketch and Treytin Frizzell (1G, 1A) did the same in the second as the two teams were deadlocked going into the third. In a game that looked destined for overtime Channon Fummerton (1G, 1A) scored with 2:54 left to give PCHA the 3-2 win. Logan MacLean (34/36) and Donagh Esler-Twiss (34/3) each made 34 saves in the game.听
BWC Academy Gold (5) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (3) U17 Prep
Delta Green led after 20 as Lukas Lima scored his 17th goal of the season. Christian Revel (2G, 2A) tied the game 2:06 into the second before Dalton Toma scored shorthanded 2:01 later to restore the Delta Green lead. Revel once again tied the game before Jonathan Lee (1G, 3A) put BWC Academy Gold ahead for the first time in the game. Milan Mrsic (1G, 1A) tied the game with a power play goal 1:39 into the third period but Colton Gerrior (2G, 3A) scored twice in a 50 second span to give BWC Academy Gold the 5-3 win.听
