Ontario Hockey Academy Prep (1) vs CIH Academy Green (2) Eastern U18
This low scoring affair wouldn鈥檛 see its first tally until the deep moments of the second period where Austrian forward Colin Leeb beat George Foti (19/21) to put CIH Green ahead. However, OHA Prep would respond quickly as Adam Racine put away his tenth of the season before the end of the frame. The offence would sway back and forth in the third, but a late penalty spelt doom for OHA Prep. Remi Gendron would score on that powerplay for CIH Green, going on to be the eventual game winner while Maxime Gigeure (23/24) kept the crease on lockdown as OHA Prep pressed late in the match.
Ulysse Academie (2) vs Bishop鈥檚 College School (3/OT) Eastern U18听
A pair of goals separated by less than two minutes got Bishop鈥檚 College up by two late in the first period. However, their offence was stifled for the next two frames as Ulysse Academie had an answer for each and every opportunity. Cl茅mente Valette got Ulysse on the board late in the second while J茅r茅rmy Lamothe tied everything up in the third. Overtime would be necessary and Bishop鈥檚 College would have the answer shortly after puck drop as Tristan Poor (2G) acquired his second of the afternoon only 1:15 into the extra frame.
Wenatchee Wild (4) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep Consolation
A power play goal from Parker Platt put Wenatchee ahead early while Mikhail Levaniuk added another later in the frame to double their advantage. Coeur d鈥橝lene would find twine late in the first thanks to an effort from Isaac Erickson, giving CDA a fighting chance to stay in the contest. However, Wenatchee鈥檚 offence continued to pile up in the second as Cameron Kimmerly (2G, 1A) picked up a pair in the frame for his third and fourth of the consolation bracket. It looked to be the end for CDA after Kimmerly鈥檚 back breaker and a slow start to the third, but an injection of life came into play late as Logan Dueling and Jacob Caron scored only 9-seconds apart late in the frame. This late surge unfortunately wasn鈥檛 enough to force a comeback, coming just shy in those final minutes allowing Wenatchee to take away a win in their final consolation matchup.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Notre Dame (2) U18 Prep Consolation
Despite outshooting Pilot Mound by nearly double at 40-21, Notre Dame was not able to consistently get the puck past Winnipeg, MB鈥檚 Quinn Burfoot (38/40) who stopped 38-shots on Saturday. Notre Dame鈥檚 offence opened the scoring with the initial two goals, but Pilot Mound鈥檚 offence ignited late in the third. Matteo Andrew (1G, 1A) erased the goosehead early in the second while Konnor Wilder and Jean-Mikael L鈥橦eureux nabbed two tallies in the third to put Pilot Mound ahead and eventually win the final consolation game of the CSSHL U18 Prep season.
Ontario Hockey Academy Gold (3) vs Bourget College (6) Eastern U18听
A hat-trick performance from Marc-Antoine Riopel (3G) was the factor that propelled Bourget College over OHA Gold. Krystopher Roy (1G, 3A) also picked up a four point effort in the victory, assisting on each of Riopel鈥檚 goals. OHA Gold showed some pushback in the second but Bourget鈥檚 offence continued to cook in the third, scoring another three times to bury OHA Gold.听
Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U15 Western Championship Semi-Finals
Luka Samu, Brady Ondrus (1G, 2A) and Easton Arndt (2G, 1A) scored first period goals as NAX led 3-0 after 20. Easton Doran (1G, 2A) and Arndt added second period goals to extend the lead. Kyle Denis scored the lone third period goal to round out the scoring. Tyson Moreland (18/18) made 18 saves for the shutout.听
RHA Kelowna (2) vs Edge School (6) U15 Western Championship Semi-Finals
Dylan Sherban and Owen Wiemer (3G, 1A) scored 10 minutes apart as Edge led 2-0 heading into the second. Wiemer scored a power play goal late in the second before RHA Kelowna countered 1:45 later when Zander Zorn found the back of the net. Wiemer restored the three goal cushion 7:32 into the second and Ellis Martschuk (1G, 1A) added to it 1:10 later. Aiden Andrews would score for RHA Kelowna five minutes later but a Damien Lavallee (1G, 1A) power play goal late put the game well out of reach. Delano Pockar (21/23) made 21 saves for the win.听
RHA Kelowna (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U18 Prep Western Championship Semi-Finals
Jack Toogood scored for NAX just 25 seconds in but RHA Kelowna held the lead after 20 thanks to goals from Brody Gillespie and McCarthy Richardson (2G). Torretto Marelli (2G) tied the game late in the second with a power play tally and Jordan Duguay put NAX on top 3:22 later. Kelsen Podworny (1G, 2A) tied the game 4:12 into the second before Daxon Rudolph (1G, 2A) found the back of the net on the power play 1:34 later. Marrelli scored the eventual game winning goal with 8:37 left to play. Richardson scored with 1:54 left to make a late RHA Kelowna push but Jordan Switzer (31/35) ultimately shut the door for the win.听
Edge School (6/SO) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep Western Championship Semi-Finals
Zach Olsen (1G, 1A) scored 4:29 in and Logan Murray added a goal of his own 2:14 later as Edge struck early to grab a 2-0 advantage. Riley Steen scored a power play goal just under three minutes later to bring OHA within one. Luke Vlooswyk extended the lead early in the second but OHA led 4-3 after 40 as Mathis Preston (1G, 2A), Wyatt Danyleyko (1G, 1A) and Liam Ruck (1G, 1A) all found the back of the net. Defenseman Landon DuPont (2G) re-tied the game with 5:57 left to play. David Hoy (1G, 1A) scored a power play goal with 2:10 left as OHA restored their lead late. But DuPont answered back with a power play goal of his own with 46 seconds remaining to force OT. OHA would have two power play opportunities in OT would Edge would kill off both as a shootout was needed. DuPont and Markus Ruck each scored for their respective teams to force a fourth round where Preston Patenaude (31/36) stopped Kayden Clarke and Leim Smith beat Ryan Tamelin (46/51) to give Edge a 6-5 win and spot in the finals.听
