NAX scored six straight goals to start the game as Charleigh Kehler (1G, 1A) scored in the first, Kacie Corkle (1G, 2A), Miika Cutknife and Elise Slywka (2G, 2A) in the second, and Beth Milke and Slywka in the third. St. Mary’s would give NAX a bit of a scare in the third as Nayeli Briones-Rodriguez and Stella Pittis beat Sophie Quaschnick (32/34), but NAX ultimately came away with a 6-2 win.Ìý
OHA Edmonton (7) vs Notre Dame (3) U15
Looking to avenge yesterday’s defeat, Dylan Birnie opened the scoring for Notre Dame 49 seconds in. Matteo Gambetti (2G, 1A) and Jiseong Kim (1G, 1A) found the back of the net for OHA Edmonton to give them the lead 7:39 into the game. Ethan Sakal evened the score less than two minutes later before Boston Smashnuk (1G, 1A) and Jax Baumuller (1G, 1A) traded goals 1:43 apart. Kirk Girard would cap-off an entertaining first by restoring the OHA Edmonton lead 17 seconds later. Kane Strudwick (1G, 1A), Lane Huscroft (1G, 2A) and Gambetti all scored in the second as OHA Edmonton pulled away. Bronny Kasturi (23/26) made 17 saves in the final 40 minutes to keep Notre Dame off the board and secure the win for his team.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs St. Mary’s Academy (0) Female U18 Prep
After a scoreless first period Alex Recsky (1G, 1A) scored the game winning goal 10:01 into the second, beating Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine (42/44) for her third goal of the season. Sophia Makokis would add an insurance marker late in the period and Maive Gosselin Berg (11/11) made 11 saves for her fourth shutout and seventh win of the season as OHA grabbed a 2-0 win.Ìý
Selwyn House School (3) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (1) East U17
Selwyn House (3-1-0) grabbed their third win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Ontario Hockey Academy (1-10-1). Yulen Billy (2G) and Xavier Blouin traded power play goals as the first period ended tied 1-1. Billy scored his second of the game midway through the second to put Selwyn ahead 2-1. Tommy Nicolopoulos (1G, 1A) would add a power play marker 4:14 later to double the Selwyn lead, providing an insurance marker. Luca Ottoni (16/17) kept clean sheets in the second and third period to earn his second win of the season. Griffin Fitzpatrick (52/55) faced 55 shots in defeat.Ìý
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U17
Peyton May scored his second goal of the season as Delta led 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Christian Sum (3G) added a power play marker 1:15 into the second and scored again just nine seconds later. Knox Vogel 92G) would get CDA on the board 46 seconds later as he hit double digit goals on the season. Sum would complete the hat-trick early in the third period when he beat Morgan Hyndman (58/62) shorthanded. CDA would make a late push as Adam Pflugrath-Davis beat Lynden Mercier (27/30) on the power play and Vogel scored a shorthanded goal. Delta would survive the final 1:22 left to secure the 4-3 victory.Ìý
North Shore Warriors (6) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep
Tobin Schaefer (1G, 4A) and Chase Vossenaar (3G, 2A) scored first period goals as North Shore led 2-0. Collin Friedrich (1G, 1A) and Luke Adam scored less than four minutes apart early in the second to tie the game. Vossenaar would respond for North Shore 1:52 later, but Pilot Mound was quick to counter as Chadrick Schulz levelled the score going into the third. Lukas Lekakis (2G, 2A) put North Shore back on top as he scored twice in a span of 1:09 and Vossenaar completed the hat-trick shortly after to give their team a 6-3 lead. Willem Kirk-Bertens would score a Pilot Mound power play goal 1:07 later, but that was as close as they would get as Ethan Suhr (51/55) finished with 51 saves in the North Shore win. Matthew Palmer (24/30) was charged with the loss.Ìý
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (10) U17 Prep
RHA Winnipeg outshot Wenatchee 61-20 en route to a 10-1 win Sunday. It was Wenatchee who held the initial lead as Ryder Brastad opened the scoring 7:11 into the game. Isaac Sousa (2G, 1A) tied the game 55 seconds later to kick-start the RHA Winnipeg run of 10 unanswered goals. Knox Burton (3G, 2A) and Gavin Quennelle (3G, 1A) each recorded hat-tricks while Keegan Bragnalo (2A), Nolan Harding (2A), Tayln Kopansky (2A) and Spencer Kuntz (2A) chipped in with two assists each.
Calgary International Hockey (6) Academy vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U15
The CIHA power play was the difference maker as Loic Lebel (1G, 1A) opened the scoring on the man advantage 3:29 in. Luke Van Waes (2G) and Brik McCord Cooper (2G, 1A) added power play goals in the second as CIHA held a 3-0 lead. Van Waes would score the first even strength goal of the game 1:44 into the final period. Tristan Reimer’s 14th of the season would get Prairie on the board midway through the third but Aiden Brown (1G, 1A) countered minutes later and McCord Cooper added a shorthanded tally as CIHA grabbed a 6-1 win in a game in which they outshot Prairie 66-17.Ìý
South Alberta Hockey Academy (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5/OT) U18 Prep
A power play goal by Brayden Ryan-Mackay (1G, 2A) gave SAHA a 1-0 lead going into the second. 2024 WHL Draft first round pick Luke Ruptash (2G) added to the lead 2:01 into the second with his third goal of the season. Fellow first round pick Graeme Pickering got RHA Winnipeg on the board with a power play goal 2:57 later and Carter Haney tied the game midway through the period. Owen Brees would restore the SAHA lead 23 seconds later but River Arnason’s (1G, 3A) 20th of the season evened the score going into the third. Cohen Lewko (1G, 1A) and Ruptash traded goals in the third as the game would need extra time. In overtime Drayden Uhrina (1G, 1A) scored his 12th of the season 1:12 in to give RHA Winnipeg a 5-4 win. Noah Giles (42/46) and Mattias Radke (37/42) were in net for their respective teams.Ìý
Stanstead College (2/OT) vs Lower Canada College (1) East U17
Gabriel Poitras (36/37) and Efstratios Couvas (35/37) each stood tall in their respective nets through the opening 20 minutes of play. Frederick Bourque would score the game’s first goal 12:53 into the second after 30-plus minutes of scoreless action. Lukas Royko would even the score a few minutes later as he hit double digit goals on the season. Much like the first, the third period belonged to the goalies, leading to overtime as the game was tied 1-1 after regulation. In overtime a Lower Canada College penalty put Stanstead on the power play where Alexis Lavoie (1G, 1A) took advantage to give his team the 2-1 victory.Ìý
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs BWC Academy (5) U15 Prep
Bronson Lamontagne (1G, 2A) gave RHA Kelowna the initial lead but Liam Bordt (1G, 1A) and defenseman Ben Campbell (2G) scored 3:03 apart as BWC Academy held a 2-1 advantage heading into the intermission. Cole Hamakawa (1G, 1A) tied the game early in the second before Logan Henry and Kaius Millan traded goals as the teams remained even heading into the third. Campbell’s second of the game and third of the season 1:27 into the third would be the go ahead goal for BWC Academy. Elias Papadatos added a late insurance marker and Bentley Edgar (24/27) finished with 24 saves as BWC Academy earned a 5-3 win in their final game of the weekend.Ìý
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
After being shutout yesterday in a 3-0 defeat, CDA (9-8-1) exacted revenge on RHA Kelowna (9-4-3) with a 2-1 win. Caden Stoltz made sure CDA wouldn’t get shutout again as he opened the scoring just 15 seconds in. Eli Fareria added to the lead with his sixth of the year 8:22 later. Brady Walker scored the lone second period goal as RHA Kelowna trailed by one heading into the second. Bennett Byers (58/59) would make 22 saves in the second and another 18 in the third to deny RHA Kelowna of a game tying goal and secure the 2-1 CDA victory. Louis Gu (30/32) made 30 saves in the loss.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy (3) U18 Prep
Pacific Coast outshot BWC Academy 38-29 but a 37 save performance from Noah Sinagowitz (37/38) stole the 3-1 win for BWC Academy. Roman Lavery opened the scoring with a power play goal 4:32 in as Pacific Coast led 12-6 on the shot clock and 1-0 on the score board after 20. Max Malinousky (2G) would tie the game 1:04 into the second and score the go ahead goal midway through the period. Charlie Robinson (1G, 1A) added an insurance marker midway through the third, beating Sam Saskiw (26/29) for his fifth goal of the season. BWC Academy would hold on from there to take home a 3-1 win.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (4/OT) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) Female U18 Prep
Tessa Heggart scored her first of the season 5:43 in to give Pilot Mound the 1-0 lead. Rebecca Macfarlane (1G, 1A) tied the game less than four minutes later with a power play marker. Hayden Wild scored the lone second period goal as OHA Black led going into the third. McKayla Romano (1G, 1A) and Logan Sullivan (1G, 1A) scored 53 seconds apart early in the third as Pilot Mound leaped ahead. Taylor Simpson would score less than two minutes later to even the score and send the game to overtime. In OT Gracie-Lee Mowbray (1G, 1A) picked the perfect time to score her first of the season as she gave OHA Black the 4-3 win 1:28 into the extra frame.Ìý
Delta Hockey Academy White (6) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U15
A close first period saw Carson Brown (2G, 2A) and Daniel Trifunovic (1G, 1A) traded opening period goals. Kaiden Kennedy scored his first of the season early in the second as STAR led 2-1 heading into the final frame. Mason Olson would extend the lead 3:43 into the third with his eighth goal of the year. Jayden Ni (2G, 2A) would respond for Delta White 36 seconds later and Colby Walker (2G) tied the game with his 18th. Josh Rzonca put STAR back ahead with 4:27 remaining but Walker again tied the game 1:05 later, Ni scored the game winner with 44 seconds left, and Brown added his second with 15 seconds remaining on the clock as Delta White erased the one goal deficit to win by two.Ìý
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (7) vs Notre Dame (4) U15 Prep
Maddox Ramage’s (1G, 2A) 13th goal of the season for Pilot Mound opened the scoring but it was countered by Carter Rands 36 seconds later. Brody Kaminski restored the Pilot Mound lead 2:41 into the second with his second of the year. Notre Dame had another quick response as Matthew Boekelder tied the game 37 seconds later. Cole Landreville (2G, 4A) would put PMHA ahead for good 1:16 later and a Kai Dingwall power play goal saw Pilot Mound up two going into the third. Landreville, Hein Mierau and Matsun Adams scored goals to start the third as the lead grew to 7-2. Kashton Masney and Duke Lesnar added late goals for Notre Dame but they wouldn’t get any closer than that. Yuki Kido (34/38) and Hudson Pooler (34/41) each made 34 saves in net.Ìý
North Shore Warriors (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) Female U18 Prep
After a scoreless first Castilla Rubin opened the scoring 1:40 into the second when she beat RHA Winnipeg netminder Bailey Schwartz (27/28) for her seventh goal of the season. Rowyn Street (2G) tied the game shortly after with a power play goal of her own before scoring the game winner on Haylie Hedges (21/23) just 12 seconds later. A scoreless third would see RHA Winnipeg hold on for a 2-1 win.Ìý
STAR Hockey Academy (6) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (2) U17 Prep
STAR and ISA swapped first period goals as Anderson Carter (1G, 1A) scored on the power play and Kaythin Mirasty (1G, 1A) countered with an even strength tally. Colton Stabbler (2G, 1A) scored twice in the second to put STAR ahead going into the final period. Max Carpenter added a shorthanded marker to increase the lead 8:09 into the period. Cruz Bear (1G, 1A) brought ISA within two but goals from Fox Brunner and Ewen Willers (1G, 2A) put the game out of reach and clinched the STAR win. Sam Trnecka (27/29) won his fourth game of the season.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (5) U15
Jake Gagno and Josh Racic scored 1:08 apart within the first four minutes of the game as Delta Black led 2-0 after 20. Antonio Cipllaka, Taegeon Park (1G, 2A) and Woojin Seo (1G, 1A) added second period goals before a scoreless third as Delta Black shutout OHA 5-0, Luc Wilson-Kurenoff (37/37) made 37 saves for his third shutout of the season. Deakon Beaudry (43/48) made 43 saves in the loss.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (7) vs St. George’s School (8) U15
A high scoring affair saw each team fire 50-plus shots on net as St. George’s won 8-7. Nick Hill (1G, 3A) and Luca Rogers (1G, 2A) paced the way for St. George’s while netminder Hudson Waddell (43/50) made 43 saves. Kaz Westcott (3G) recorded a hat-tick for PCHA with teammates Hudson Elke (2A), Liam Hussey (2A), Brayden Lindsay (2A) and Caden Sugiyama (1G, 2A) all recording two assists in the loss. Shay Van Slyke (47/55) made 47 saves in the loss.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4/SO) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
After a scoreless first period Ethan Unger opened the scoring 3:28 into the second with a Prairie power play goal. Maddoch Bond tied the game midway through the second but it was quickly countered by Nixon Friesen, 57 seconds later. Luke Pratte added another Prairie power play goal later in the period to increase the lead to two going into the third. Chase Heide (2G) would bring Pacific Coast within one with 7:56 remaining as he scored a power play goal. Heide would then tie the game with 1:31 left with a shorthanded goal, his 10th goal of the season. After OT solved nothing, Heide scored the lone shootout goal and Ander Reyes (47/50) stopped all three Prairie shooters as PCHA completed the comeback to earn a 4-3 win. Drake Mooney (32/35) made 32 saves in the loss.Ìý
Prairie Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U17
Following a scoreless first, RHA Winnipeg would strike first thanks to the efforts of Elijah Rempel. Shortly after Rempel’s tally, Atley Feniuk netted his 10th of the season to double RHA Winnipeg’s lead. Feniuk has scored six times in his last six games played. Late in the frame, Zander Watson would put Prairie on the board giving RHA Winnipeg something to think about during intermission. However, RHA Winnipeg would remain strong in the third failing to score but not allowing PHA to get that elusive game tying goal. Zaiden McDonald-Horvath (33/34) racked up 33-saves in the win while Cole Fox (44/46) posted an impressive 44-save performance following his 64-save performance on Friday.
OHA Edmonton (7) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U17
An offensive first frame from OHA Edmonton was capped off with a beautiful Forsberg goal from Clark Schneider (2G, 1A), making things 3-0 before the ice clean. NAX would show some push back in the second as Jacob Collins found the back of the net to make things 3-1, but a quick pair from Rhett Hudson (2G, 1A) and Schneider restored and increased OHA Edmonton’s advantage. Schneider’s second would go on to be the game winner as OHA Edmonton comfortably strolled to victory over NAX.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (4/SO) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep
Cooper Giarraputo got things started off for OHA with an early marker in the first. OHA would carry that 1-0 lead into the second and build off of it with a Gage Mark penalty shot goal. Yale would wake up part way through the second with two powerplay goals. Dominic Ponte buried one on a breakaway while Parker McMillan (1G, 1A) wired home his 16th of the year from the right circle. Early in the third, Matteo Zenone would waltz in and fire one far side to give Yale their first lead of the afternoon. Late in the frame, Cohen Short would cram home a loose puck in tight to force overtime. OHA goaltender Maddox Slater (29/32) made a handful of crucial stops, extending OHA’s chances and bringing this contest to a shootout. After tying through the first three shooters, it wasn’t until the eighth round where we would find our winner. Xavier Sedor-Steer would beat Gavin Craig (25/28) glove side to put OHA in the win column.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17
Mason Alexander and Zander Zorn (1G, 1A) would pop off early for RHA Kelowna, giving them a two goal advantage less than four minutes into play. Joshua Moussadji would get NSW back to within one later in the frame but Kesler Hamilton (1G, 1A) would restore RHA Kelowna’s two goal advantage before the buzzer sounded. Aiden Andrews and Bennett Macek would strike for another two in the second for RHA Kelowna, putting this one out of reach for NSW.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) vs OHA Edmonton (1) U18 Prep
A three goal first from NAX was the difference maker in their matchup against OHA Edmonton. NAX would build on their lead late in the second after Mason Koponyas drilled one on the powerplay from the left circle. Brady Whitehead would add another insurance marker in the third with assists coming off the sticks of U15 Prep call-ups Will Kelts and Nolan Wolitski. Nate Stevens (23/24) picked up 23-saves in the win, backing NAX to their 10th win of the regular season.
Edge School (7/SO) vs OHA Edmonton (6) U15 Prep
OHA Edmonton would come out the gates swinging in the first, scoring four goals in the first period to establish a 4-1 lead with two powerplay goals to close out the frame. Heading into the second, Austin Blackmore and Artello Forestal (2G, 1A) would add another two to OHA Edmonton’s lead, making things a hefty 6-1. Ellis Martschuk (1G, 1A) would make things 6-2 late in the second, but it would be an uphill battle heading into the third. However, Edge School managed to muster back a comeback. Outshooting OHA Edmonton by triple (21-7), Edge was able to tie things up with an Ethan Parkinson goal late in the frame. Overtime wouldn’t solve anything but both Keagan Grant and Luka Huska (2A) would net shootout goals, completing the unthinkable comeback for Edge School.
Delta Hockey Academy Green (4) vs Edge School (6) Female U18 Prep
Edge found themselves up 2-1 through twenty thanks to goals from Avaya McCann (2G, 1A) and Lila Deis. Edge would outscore Delta Green once more in the second as Brooklyn Deck (2G) found the scoresheet along with Abby Lee. Delta Green would show some push back in the third as Payton Finnie (2G) found the scoresheet just 24-seconds into the frame. However, Edge would remain consistent with their offence, potting another two in the final period, enough to push their lead to 6-4. Jenna Ring (20/24) was in goal for the win, picking up an assist as surplus.Ìý
Delta Hockey Academy Black (3) vs OHA Edmonton (4/OT) Female U18 Prep
Delta Black would kick things off perfectly through the first half of this contest, racking up a 3-0 lead. Neve Jugnauth would get OHA Edmonton on the board late in the second, giving her team an opportunity in the third. Joryn Hempel would cut the deficit to one just 39-seconds into the third, making way for Izzy Gollop’s tying goal later in the frame, forcing overtime. Just 36-seconds into OT, Riley Cooper (2A) would spot Ryann Chimera (1G, 1A) in the slot where she would make no mistake, clinching the comeback victory for OHA Edmonton.ÌýÌý
BWC Academy (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4) U15
Following a scoreless first, Max Ritchey would put Yale up 1-0. 14-seconds later, Theo Falk would tie things right back up for BWC Academy. Yale would ultimately leave the period up a score of 2-1 after Ben Bury (1G, 2A) scored the go ahead goal. Into the third, BWC Academy scored twice in under a minute to propel themselves into the lead. However, Yale wouldn’t back down. Hunter Stewart (1G, 1A) would tie things up at 3-3 while a fortunate bounce following Matthew Lavoie’s (1G, 1A) shot would put Yale back in front where they would hold on for the win. In goal, Logan Hwang (25/28) posted 25-saves for the victory.
Shawnigan Lake School (4) vs Notre Dame (1) U17 Prep
McAllister Mugford struck early shorthanded for Shawnigan after he found himself alone on a breakaway. Logan Arnold would quickly restore the tie, scoring on the very same powerplay. Scoring would take a hiatus in the second but would come back in full force for Shawnigan in the third. Ryder Kerr would label a backhander shortside to give Shawnigan back the lead. That goal would go on to be the game winner as Stefan Kostin (38/39) steered all 15-shots in the third period from Notre Dame aside.Ìý
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (8) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) U17 Prep
A Logan Lanti (3G) hat-trick was the driving force behind an offensive onslaught carried out by RHA Kelowna. Along with Lanti’s hat-trick Maddox Bentley (1G, 2A) and Joshua Johnstone (3A) supplied three points each. Kai Ebert (23/23) stopped all 23-shots from NAX for his division leading third shutout of the season.
STAR Hockey Academy (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep
Delta’s special teams were clicking in this contest over STAR. Colton Brum (1G, 1A) would wire home the first goal on the man advantage to bolster Delta’s lead to 2-0 in the first. Into the second Casey Pearson would net another PP goal for Delta, further increasing their lead. Ryker Doka would add Delta’s fourth soon after. Doka’s nine goals on the year lead all U15 Prep defencemen in goal scoring.Ìý
Bourget College (2) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (4) East U18
Teams would trade goals in the first period to keep things knotted up entering the second. Eliott Guevin registered one on a breakaway early in the second to put Bourget College ahead but OHA would strike back with two before the end of the second courtesy of Jeremy St. Louis (2G, 1A) and Danny Kananga (2G). St. Louis would go on to add a fourth in the third, securing OHA’s victory. Raphael Tremblay (40/42) played a big part in shutting down Bourget’s offence, steering aside 40-shots in the win.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) vs Balmoral Hall School (1) Female U18 Prep
RHA Kelowna opened the scoring with five unanswered goals in this contest, capped off by a beautiful individual effort from former Balmoral Hall student-athlete, Hayley McDonald. Madeline McKay would get one back by the end of the second but that’s all that would get past Jaya Schippel (22/23) who posted 22-saves in the win. Callie Rice (2G) would net two and Jillian McLaughlin (1G, 2A) snagged three points in the RHA Kelowna win.
Shawnigan Lake School (7) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep
Taya Lonsdale (2G) and Grace Cooper (2G, 1A) each nabbed a pair of goals in Sunday’s win for Shawnigan. Lonsdale has now scored at least two goals in her last four contests. Zoe Cramer (1G, 3A) would also chip in four points while Alix Walchuk (27/28) made 27-stops, only being beaten by Kamryn Rieber early in the third period.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U17 Prep
Following a scoreless first, Ben Fragle would pot his third of the weekend to give OHA the initial lead. Later in the frame, Maxx Parfitt would net one in close after a delicious feed from Luke Assi (2G, 1A). Portland Winterhawks prospect Cash Brebant (1G, 1A) would get OHA Edmonton on the board soon after with a wicked wrister from the right circle. Entering the third, Assi and Logan Miller (1G, 1A) would trade goals before a slight stoppage in play after one of Miller’s bodychecks dislodged the glass, resulting in some repair time. After the delay, Trey Tourigny would wire home a crisp pass from David Aggen for the eventual game winning tally.Ìý
St. George’s School (1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (2/OT) U17 Prep
Carson Ward got it started early for SAHA with a shorthanded tally just over three minutes into play. A couple minutes later, Byron Chin spotted Josh Gravistin trailing behind, laying one off before Gravistin sniped home his fourth of the season. Fast forward to overtime as no one could find the back of the net in the second or third and wouldn’t take long. Kutcher Aquila (1G, 1A) would label one top shelf for the OT winner and would celebrate in style. Remy Martins (20/21) picked up 20-saves between the pipes in the OT win.
Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs St. George’s School (7) U15 Prep
Despite a shortened bench, St. George’s found no trouble finding twine in their Sunday affair with Shawnigan. Adam Benn (3G) would lead the way with a hat-trick while Noah Fowler (2G) potted himself a pair. Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (1G, 2A) scored a beautiful shorthanded goal late to close off this contest. Joffrey Chan (16/16) stopped 16-shots for his second shutout of the campaign.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3/SO) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15 Prep
William Thompson (1G, 1A) ignited the scoring in the first for NSW, giving them the early lead. PCHA’s Ethan Parsons would extinguish that lead in the second with a howitzer on the powerplay. Come the third, Jackson Squire and Edward Kemp would trade goals, leading to overtime and an eventual shootout. In an absolute marathon of a shootout, Nehemiah Plunkett would ultimately become the game’s hero. Rio Manhas (30/32) picked up the win in goal, but Elias Mitrikas (47/49) gave it his all, posting 47-saves to make sure his team left with at least a point.
Shawnigan Lake School (1) vs St. George’s School (4) U18 Prep
With quite possibly one of the greatest Teddy Bear Toss goals you will ever see, Harshaan Kaila (3G, 1A) got St. George’s on the board first. After being taken down on a partial break, Kaila scored from his rear, sliding it fivehole to let the teddies rain down from the stands. Easton Sangris would tie things later in the frame but the Saints weren’t going to let this game slip away. Eddy Spytz’s one-timer would trickle through to make things 2-1 in the second. Jump to the third and it was Kaila once again, polishing off a 2-on-1 with Sam Auld (2A) to grab the insurance marker. Kaila would pick up the empty netter to cap off the closest thing to a perfect night we may have ever seen in the CSSHL.
Delta Hockey Academy (3/OT) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
A late night CSSHL Featured game saw Delta Hockey Academy face off against reigning division, the Calgary International Hockey Academy. The first wouldn’t see much action as both teams failed to find the back of the net through twenty. Come the second period, Saskatoon Blades prospect Treyce Pavlic (2A) was able to spot Jack Morgan in the corner for a low one-timer to get Delta on the board. Fast forward to the third and Delta would double their lead thanks to a slick feed from Kishan Saggu. After completing a spin-o-rama above the circles he’d spot Prince George, BC native Wyatt Callander for another one-timer where he would make no mistake. CIHA would eventually find themselves on the scoresheet after Chale Morgan (2G) was able to squeeze one past Matthew Wong (25/27). Just over a minute later, Morgan would strike again for CIHA, roofing a backhand off a slap pass from Grayson Juba. CIHA would muster a couple more chances as the period chugged along but couldn’t find an answer to beat Wong. Overtime was necessary and soon after the puck dropped, Pavlic would label a pass in front for Caden Leibel in front of a yawning cage where he’d gently tap it in to clinch Delta the victory in our CSSHL Featured Game. Wong stopped 25-shots in the win.
Yale Hockey Academy (0) vs Edge School (1) U17 Prep
Early in the first, Ashton McCann would get Edge School on the board after wiring home a shorthanded breakaway. However, for the rest of this contest, it would be lockdown goaltending. Both teams would fire a total of 42-shots and following McCann’s goal, each tendy remained perfect. Adam Courchesne (42/42) would ultimately post the shutout, stopping every Yale opportunity thrown his way. Carson Lang (41/42) would only be beaten that one time.
BWC Academy (3) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep
Josh Wu (30/31) and Alex Doyer (30/32) were each on their ‘A game’ through the first 40 minutes as they kept the game scoreless into the third period. Oleksii Zhekov would finally break through for BWC Academy 1:14 into the third period. Matthew Latscha would tie the game 4:04 later with a power play goal. Declan Iacoviello scored the game winner for BWC Academy with 7:23 left and Nic Collins added an empty netter with 29 seconds remaining as BWC Academy scored three in the third after being shutout in the opening 40.Ìý
Balmoral Hall School (3) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) Female U18 Prep
The lone game Monday saw Balmoral Hall grab a 1-0 lead 2:41 in as Maddie Kaiser (1G, 2A) scored her 18th of the season. Keyana Bert tied the game a few minutes later and a power play goal by Kamryn Reiber put SAHA ahead going into the second. Julianna DeGroot (2G) scored two power play goals in a span of 2:02 as Balmoral regained the lead. Jaylee Skog (1G, 1A) tied the game less than three minutes later with a power play goal of her own. Defenseman Riley Gramlich (1G, 1A) scored the go ahead goal for SAHA late in the second and Sara Stefanic (1G, 1A) added an insurance marker early in the third. Hannah Palumbo (28/31) made eight saves in the third to deny Balmoral a tying goal as SAHA grabbed a 5-3 win.
