After a scoreless first Reese Kartusch (1G, 1A), Kaitlyn Harvey, Hannah Arnold and Mia Faseruk (1G, 1A) scored for St. Mary鈥檚 as they led 4-1 after 40. Alyssa Tansek scored her first of the season 2:06 into the third to bring PMHA within 2 but Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine (18/20) made 18 saves to secure a St. Mary鈥檚 win.听
RHA Winnipeg (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
Leonardo Begert (1G, 1A) gave PMHA a 1-0 lead, scoring the lone first period goal. Carter Haney and Aiden Jacobso responded for RHA Winnipeg in the second, while a Rachlan Hay power play goal tied the game heading into the third. Jett Deschamps (1G, 1A) second goal of the season on the power play 13:30 into the third gave RHA Winnipeg a 3-2 win. Peyton Shore (41/43) and Kyle Beilman (62/65) were in net for their respective teams.听
Notre Dame (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy White (6) U17 Prep
Kale Pratte (2G, 2A) led all skaters with four points, Carter Wingert (3A) chipped in with three assists, and Rylan Emigh (2A), Mason Smith (1G, 1A), and Hudson Thiessen (1G, 1A) had multi-point games as PHA White defeated Notre Dame 6-1. Ryder Gilroy scored his eighth goal of the season with 8:51 remaining to end the Cameron Beisal shutout bid. Dane Gillis (35/41) made 35 saves in defeat.听
Delta Hockey Academy Black (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) U15 Prep
RHA Kelowna鈥檚 depth proved to be the difference maker in Friday鈥檚 matchup. Seven separate skaters produced multi-point efforts. Mathis Paull (2G, 1A) and Kesler Hamilton (2G, 1A) led the way with their three-point performances. Braxton Gibson (26/27) stood tall in goal for RHA Kelowna, barely missing out on their shutout after Christian Sum scored the lone goal for Delta Black with 4:57 left on the clock.听
BWC Academy (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep
Kyle Obobaifo (1G, 1A) would ignite BWC Academy鈥檚 morning with a tally on a breakaway, beating two Yale defenders to a loose puck before slipping one past Tyson Kuiack (23/26) on the backhand. Cohen Baker (2G) would add to the scoreboard late in the second but Yale鈥檚 Ollie Reid (1G, 1A) would erase the two-goal advantage just 44-seconds later. In the third period, 2010-born forward Justin Moon (1G, 1A) would capitalize on the powerplay off of a sweet feed from Obobaifo. Baker would add an empty netter later for BWC Academy while Aiden Lazazzera (32/34) stopped 12/13 shots in the third to seal the victory for his academy.
Champions Hockey Academy (5) vs Mount Academy (2) Eastern U17
Matthew Evancusky (28/33) kept Mount Academy alive through the first two periods, turning away 20-shots from CHA. Ethan Arsenault would tie the game for Mount Academy early in the third. However, CHA would get into their groove shortly after, connecting for three even strength goals in 4:46. Max Patenaude walked away with the ultimate game winner and improved CHA鈥檚 record to 10-0-0-0.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (9) U15 Prep
Alexander Laing (2G, 2A) led the offensive charge for Delta Green as ten separate skaters acquired two or more points over PCHA. Ryder Dunn (2G) and Daniel Havard (2G) both picked up pairs of goals while Blake Clark (22/23) held down the fort.
North Shore Warriors (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U15 Prep
All cylinders were firing for the Warriors in the first period, outshooting Shawnigan Lake by a 12-shot margin and toting a 3-0 lead after twenty. Chase Vossenaar got it started 1:36 into the game while Lenin Haggarty picked up his first of the season in the period鈥檚 final minute. Shawnigan Lake would show some pushback in the second with a pair of powerplay goals from Carson Peet and Carter Lonsdale to make it a one goal game entering the third. The goalies would shine in the final frame, neither surrendering a goal. Liam Chamberlain (52/55) would stop 18-shots from NSW while Elias Mitrikas (45/47) made 22-stops on a hungry Shawnigan offence. Mitrikas, a 2010-born goaltender, came in relief for Oscar Hicik (2/2) halfway through the first, earning his second career CSSHL win in impressive fashion.听听
Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U15 Prep
NAX put no time to waste in the first period, scoring twice in 35-seconds thanks to Jackson Tetreault and Thayne Wasyluk. Gavin Harrison would score his third of the season to crank up NAX鈥檚 lead to three halfway through the second. However, OHA Edmonton would fire back in the third, leading the way with a powerplay goal from Owen Morrow for his first career CSSHL goal. Walker Filewich would add another shortly after to cut their deficit down to one. NAX would turn up the heat from here on out, finding the back of the net once more thanks to Jaggar John, relinquishing OHA Edmonton鈥檚 momentum and shot at a comeback.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs St. George’s School (7) U15 Prep
The 2010-born skaters were leading the offensive charge for St. George鈥檚 Friday afternoon. Kain Martinuik (1G, 3A) and Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (2G, 1A) combined for seven-points over OHA and would connect on the eventual game winning goal. It was only 3-2 entering the third, but St. George鈥檚 offence took over in the final frame for another four tallies. Brock Cripps (1G, 3A) added another four-points to his league-leading total, while Les Toth (34/36) stood tall in the crease for his fifth win of the campaign.听
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (0) vs BWC Academy (8) U18 Prep
Preston Lewis (28/28) continues to ride the hot hand, capturing his third straight win between the pipes for BWC Academy and sealing off his first career CSSHL shutout. Lewis was graciously helped out from a variety of sources in front of him. Eight separate goal scorers would find the goalsheet for BWC Academy. James Campbell鈥檚 (1G, 3A) opening goal served as the game winner, his first of the season, and the catalyst to an impressive offensive performance.听
Shawnigan Lake School (4/SO) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
Shawnigan and Delta would trade goals throughout the majority of this contest. All tied up at three with 1:02 on the clock, Matthew Jackson would be hauled down on the breakaway and would be rewarded with a penalty shot. However, Armaan Kaila (27/30) would stare Jackson down and make an easy stop, forcing overtime and eventually a shootout. Although Kaila may have gotten a warm-up after facing that late penalty shot, Shawnigan would beat him twice to get the upper hand. It came down to Bennett Muller to keep Delta alive in the shootout, but Mathis Perron stood tall and blockered the attempt to the side for the Shawnigan Lake win.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs North Shore Warriors (6) U15
Ethan Mah (1G, 1A) got things rolling with a powerplay goal from the point to put NSW ahead in the first. The Warriors would continue to feed through the vast majority of the contest with heavy offensive contributions from Kenzo Gibson (1G, 2A) and Conor Nicolson (1G, 1A). Cole Morley would score the lone goal for RHA Kelowna.听
Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U18 Prep
2023 WHL Draft first overall pick Daxon Rudolp (3G, 2A) recorded a hat-trick and added two assists to lead NAX to a 7-4 win Friday. Finn Kallay (2G, 2A) added four points of his own and Jordan Switzer (35/39) made 35 saves in the win. Koy Funk (2G, 1A) led the way offensively for RHA Winnipeg.听
Bourget College (2) vs CIH Academy White (1) Eastern U18
Luc Alexandre Sedawey and Krystopher Roy scored first period goals and a scoreless second saw Bourget lead 2-0 after 40. Jeremy Bessette added his second of the season in the third but CIH Academy was unable to find the equaliser.听
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (2) vs St. George’s School (8) U18 Prep
Eight different skaters scored for St. George鈥檚 in an 8-2 win over CDA. Connor Pankratz (1G, 2A) and Amadeo Sim (1G, 2A) each had three points while Jared Chin (2A) and Simon Ward (2A) chipped in with two assists. Calvin Coppess and Esteban Labelle scored for CDA in the loss.听
St. Mary鈥檚 High School (1) vs North Shore Warriors (12) U18 Prep
Owen Brennan (2G, 2A), Shane Purves (2G, 4A) and Dylan Ruff (2G, 1A) each scored twice as North Shore defeated St. Mary鈥檚 High School 12-1. Alec Boucher scored with 1:23 remaining to end the Ayden Fenske (17/18) shutout bid.听
Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Black (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
Tyson Schamehorn opened the scoring for OHA 7:11 into the first. Aidan Fisher鈥檚 12th goal of the season tied the game less than two minutes later but OHA would re-take the lead 55 seconds after that on a Simon Cecconi tally. Seth Flett (2G, 1A) and Kaelen Halowaty scored second period markers and Flett added a third period tally as OHA skated to a 5-1 win. Micah Davidson (40/41) out duelled Louis Gu (20/25) for the win.听
OHA Edmonton (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep
Kohen McEllistrum (23/23) made 23 saves for his second shutout and fifth win of the season. Dylan Konschuh, Patrick Sopiarz, and Nolan Schmidt scored first period goals, Kayden Lemire added one in the second, and Brett Schrock scored late in the third for OHA Edmonton. Quinn Burfoot (61/65) made 61 saves in defeat.听
Prairie Hockey Academy (9) vs Notre Dame (5) U18 Prep
A high scoring affair saw Prairie beat their provincial rivals Notre Dame 9-5. Chance Loke (1G, 4A) had five points while Easton Banda (2G), Avery Johnson (2G, 2A) and Luke Myhre (2G) each scored twice for Prairie. Liam Schaentzler (3G) recorded a hat-trick for Notre Dame in the loss. Prairie would go 3-for-5 on the power play and score four straight to open both the first and second period.听
Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
Markus Ruck (1G, 2A) scored the lone first period goal before Ilija Majkic and Hunter Aura scored early in the second for Yale. But Mathis Preston would tie the game on the power play 51 seconds later and Liam Ruck (1G, 2A) and Preston (2G) added third period goals as OHA defeated Yale 4-2. Ryan Tamelin (28/30) made 28 saves in the win. Nathan Kam (36/39) was charged with the loss.听
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep
Rowan Guest (1G, 2A) and Grady Sluggett scored in the first for PCHA while McCarthy Richardson (2G) and Joe Iginla (2G) countered for RHA Kelowna. Noah Kosick (1G, 2A), Ryker Rougeau (1G, 1A) and Jordan Ramsay (1G, 1A) added second period tallies as PCHA took a commanding 5-2 lead heading into the third. RHA Kelowna would battle back to tie the game on goals from Iginla, Keaton Verhoeff and Richardson. But the comeback would ultimately fall short as Jase Johnstone (1G, 1A) scored 1:44 into OT to give PCHA the 6-5 win.听
Yale Hockey Academy (5) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) U17 Prep
Gus Schill (1G, 2A) and Ryker Swanson scored first period goals as Yale led 2-0 after 20. Ethan Naus would get Shawnigan on the board early in the second before Hudson May restored the two goal lead. Nolan Blankstein scored a power play marker for Shawnigan but Aidan Kalinowski (1G, 1A) responded with a short handed goal of his own. A Weston Ebrahim power play tally late in the second brought the game back within one heading into the third. Matthew Dowdall (1G, 1A) secured the Yale victory with a power play marker, his eighth of the season, with 7:27 left to play.听
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy Gold (8) U17 Prep
All but one BWC Academy Gold skater found their name on the scoresheet in an 8-1 win over CDA. Defensemen Ben Climenhaga (3A) and Keagan Lundie (1G, 2A) each had three points while Jonathan Bitonti (2G) scored twice. Ben Albers scored the lone CDA goal in defeat. Korbin Rodel (20/21) and Jr Peebles (41/49) were in net for their respective teams.
