Edge School (9) at Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep
Edge School’s power-play was perfect, scoring five times on five opportunities in the game. Brendan Calahasen (3G,1A) recorded a hat-trick; his second of the season, and scored his third game-winning goal in his last four games. Ethan Adair (2G,1A) and Bryan Kim each scored a pair of goals, while Jettson Koch picked up 4-assists in the win. The lone goal for Pilot Mound Hockey Academy was scored by Jack Smith, for his first goal of the year.
West Van Academy (0) at Delta Hockey Academy Green (13) U15 Prep
Delta Hockey Academy were ready to play against West Van Academy on Saturday afternoon, outshooting the Warriors 54-12 in the contest. All but one skater recorded at least one point in the game for Delta, including Zachary Pantelakis and Chase Harrington, who each registered a hat-trick and Jackson DeGraves, who added four assists. Mitchell Pearce turned aside all 12 shots he faced for his first shutout of the year.
International Hockey Academy (2) at Notre Dame (7) U17 Prep
Liam Bishop opened the scoring early for International Hockey Academy at 7:53 of the first period, but the lead was short-lived. Ryan Zabchuk would score just seconds later (7:56) to tie the game for Notre Dame and would add another goal late in the period (19:16) to give the Hounds the lead. It did not last either, however, as IHA forward Kayden Big Plume capitalized just 15 seconds afterwards (19:31) to tie things up 2-2. Notre Dame took command of the game in the final two periods, scoring five unanswered goals to pick up the win.
International Hockey Academy (1) at Notre Dame (5) U18 Prep
Notre Dame fired 50 shots on the IHA net, scoring five times, while on the other end, Tyson Endall stopped 23 of 24 shots he faced for the Hounds win. Jeremy Pelissou (1G,1A) and Ivan Kulagin (1G,1A) each had mutli-point efforts for Notre Dame, and Kyle Federico picked up his second goal in his last two games for IHA in the loss. Tyson Endall stopped 23 out of 24 shots to register his first win of the season.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (4 OT) at Delta Hockey Academy Black (3) U15 Prep
Okanagan Hockey Academy were up 3-0 midway through the game, after a pair of goals from Liam Ruck and one from Rylan Bissett. However, Delta Black responded with three goals of their own; first Min suk Hou found the back of the net to cut into the lead, then Grayson Salmon scored twice in the third period to tie the game 3-3. It only took 1:51 of overtime to decide a winner, when Simon Cecconi snapped home the game-winning goal for OHA.
Edge School (11) at Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep
It was a balanced offensive effort from Edge in this one, with 14 different skaters hitting the scoresheet in the game. Among them, Nathan Behm (2G,4A) put up a six-point effort, scoring twice and adding four helpers, while Owen Mastroianni (2G,1A) scored the game-winning goal, his second GWG of the year. Liam Tattuinee notched the only tally for Pilot Mound, extending his scoring streak to three games.
RINK Kelowna (1) at Yale Hockey Academy (5)Ìý U15
Yale Hockey Academy scored five unanswered goals in the game, off the sticks of Jackson Schroeder, Ryker Swanson, Aiden Kalinowski, Jayden Oleskiw and Koray Bozkaya. YHA kept RINK Kelowna off the scoreboard until the final minute of the third period, when Porter Rossi scored for RHA at 19:27 of the frame to break the shutout bid for Carson Lang. The Yale netminder turned aside 25 of 26 shots for his first win.
RINK Kelowna (2) at Shawnigan Lake School (1) Female U18 Prep
It was scoreless between RHA Kelowna and Shawnigan heading into the third period, when Teagan Webster-Locke put RINK Kelowna on the board with her second goal of the season (1:51). Jade Iginla added an insurance marker at 6:15 of the frame with her fourth goal of the year and has registered nine points (4G, 5A) in her first six games to begin the season. Shawnigan Lake would make things interesting at 12:07, when Arnica Bulmer netted her first of the season to cut the lead in half, but Madison Bowtell ultimately shut the door the rest of the way, stopping 14 of 15 shots in net for RINK.Ìý
Edge School (5) at South Alberta Hockey Academy (1)Ìý U18 Prep
Carter McLeod scored twice in the first period, including the eventual game-winner, and Hunter Sawka added two goals of his own in the game to help Edge School pick up their fourth win of the season. Keifer Miller notched his team-leading fifth goal and his seventh point on the year (5G, 2A). Jackson Unger (2-0-0) made 23 saves on 24 shots for his second win, and has allowed two goals or less in his first two starts this season.
Bourget (5) U18 at Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) U18 Eastern
David Rioux gave Bourget College a 2-0 lead in the first period with a power-play goal at 8:56, followed up by his second goal of the game at 11:24. Okanagan Hockey Ontario would cut into the lead in the second period on a goal by Jaden Lyons, but Bourget scored three-straight third period goals, scored by Artyom Barashkin (2), Jordan Waite (4) and Zachary Cyrenne (4), to put the game out of reach.Ìý
West Van Academy (1) at RINK Kelowna (8) U16 Prep
RINK Kelowna continued their unbeaten streak extending it to nine games (9-0-0). Mason Rudolph got the scoring started on the power-play for RHA Kelowna midway through the first period, and added another in the third. Logan Flint (2G) picked up his first and second goals of the year. Gavin Pomeroy (8-0-0) was solid in net for RHA Kelowna, making 19 saves and earning his eight straight win of the year.Ìý
RINK Kelowna (0) at Delta Hockey Academy (15) U17 Prep
It was an offensive outpouring from Delta Hockey Academy against RINK Kelowna, with 14 different players registering points in the game. Miguel Marques (3G,5A) scored a hat-trick and added five assists, Tomas Mrsic had a 6-point night (2G, 4A) scoring his 13th and 14th goals of the season, while Jordan Gavin (2G, 3A) registered his eighth straight multi-point game and is averaging 4.22 points per game this season. Jack Sears (3G) scored three times for Delta and Gavin Garland extended his point streak to eight games (4G, 20 Pts.) with four assists. Darian Moberly (4-0-0) turned aside all 18 shots he faced for his fourth win, and first shutout, of the year.
OHA Edmonton (1) at RINK Winnipeg (3) U18 Prep
The power-play was effective for RINK Winnipeg, scoring twice in the game. Luke Janus scored on the man-advantage (18:08) late in the first period, and London Hoilett scored the go-ahead goal on the power-play late in the third. Joey Lies’ goal 6:02 into the third period proved to be the game winner, as RINK Winnipeg improved their record to (4-1-0).
St. George’s (1) at Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep
Pacific Coast outshot St. George’s 34-25 in a 6-1 win Saturday night. Colton Alain’s power play goal would give Pacific Coast an early lead, but Brenden Morgan would respond with a St. George’s tally, bringing the first period to a close with a 1-1 tie. It was all PCHA from there as they would score two in the second and three more in the third. Wyatt Blace (2G,1A), Noah Kosick (5A) and Jordan Ramsay (1G,2A) were the key offensive contributors for PCHA, while Chayse Johnson made 24 saves in the win.Ìý
Yale Hockey Academy (3)Ìý at St. George’s (2) U18 Prep
Greye Rampton and Logan Wormald scored 31 seconds apart in the opening period, and Nolan Viesner scored 45 seconds in the middle frame as Yale held on for a 3-2 win. Justin Street and Hiroki Gosjic scored for St. George’s but the comeback came up one goal short. Jaiden Sharma made 29 saves in the loss, while Brady Smith and Carter Capton combine to stop 29 of 31 in the win.Ìý
Delta Hockey Academy (2/SO) at BWC Academy (1) U16 Prep
This U16 Prep matchup was a goalie duel with Mathias Hasselmann making 30 saves for Delta, and Josh Vallee making 26 for BWC Academy. Both regulation goals came less than four minutes apart in the second period, with Daegun Chong scoring for Delta, and Jake Selent countering for BWC Academy. Both goalies stayed hot in overtime and the shootout, stopping five of six skaters, before Jacob Suderman scored for Delta.Ìý
BWC Academy (7) at West Van Academy (1) U15
BWC Academy peppered Mowat Sweet to the tune of 76 shots as they defeated West Van 7-1. Max Saar would score 51 seconds in to give West Van an early lead, but BWC Academy would respond less than a minute later, scoring seven unanswered goals. Jake Banicevic and Ty Bonkowski (2G,1A) each scored twice in the win.
Edge School (11) at Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Ashton Gallagher scored four times on way to a five point night in a 11-3 Edge School win. Edge would put up almost a shot per minute, finishing with 57, as they found the back of the net four times in the first, four in the second, and three in the third. Ethan Adair (2G), Brendan Calahasen (1G,A), Owen Howes (2A), Corey Humphreys (2G), Bryan Kim (1G,3A) and Mitchell Patrick (1G,1A) all finished with at least two points for Edge.Ìý
St. George’s (3) at Shawnigan Lake School (6) U17 Prep
Despite getting outshot 43-29, Fedor Samsonov stood tall for Shawnigan Lake School making 40 saves in a 6-3 win. Luka Shcherbyna (2G) would score for St. George’s just 10 seconds in, but it was Shawnigan who would take a 2-1 lead heading into the second. St. George’s would double up Shawnigan in the second, as the game entered the third tied at three. But Shawnigan would score three unanswered, including two from Coco Armstrong (2G,1A),Ìý in the final 20 to take a 6-3 win.Ìý
Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) at Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
Reid Varkonyi, Teydon Trembecky (1G,1A) and Zackary Shantz scored opening period goals as NAX beat Prairie 4-2. Ethan Dekay stayed red hot for PHA, recording his fifth goal of the season, the lone marker in the second period. Hunter Dingman would restore the NAX three goal lead early in the third, but Drew Molde would score exactly a minute later to close the gap back to two. That was as close as PHA would come as Alexander Scheiwiller would make 28 saves in the win.Ìý
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) at Delta Hockey Academy (2/SO) U18 Prep
Ryan Comisky scored his first of the season in the middle of the opening frame to give Pacific Coast a lead they would hold for the majority of the game. Peyton Mitchmuangeua would end that lead, tying the game with 1:42 left in the game to force overtime. The extra five minutes solved nothing, before Alexander Sandhu and Mitchmuangeua both scored in the shootout, and Harrison Meneghin stopped both PCHA shooters. Both goalies, Meneghin and Ryan Parker, were excellent, each stopping 42 of 43 shots faced.Ìý
International Hockey Academy (1) at Prairie Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
The shot clock was even at 37 apiece but Prairie was able to capitalize on more of their chances, skating to a 5-1 victory. Prairie scored the first five goals of the game before Andrei Glukhov finally beat PHA netminder Austin Seibel with 48 seconds left, ruining Seibel’s bid for his first shutout of the season. Carson Haugan (1G,1A), defenceman Aiden Kruger (2G), Devun Olfert (1G,1A), and Carter Skarbon (1G,2A) led the offence for Prairie in the win.Ìý
Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) at BWC Academy (4) U18 Prep
Liam Hallett made 20 saves including 11 in the third to earn the shutout in a 4-0 BWC Academy win. Luca Primerano (1G,1A) gave BWC Academy the lead two minutes in and Ryder McIntosh scored his fifth of the year to finish a two goal BWC Academy first period. Carson Wetsch (2G,1A) scored his fifth and sixth goals in the second and third period, rounding out the scoring. Jasper Tait made 37 saves in the loss.Ìý
Prairie Hockey Academy (3) at Notre Dame (2) U15 Prep
Kierin Osberg scored with just under three minutes to play to give PHA their first win of the season. Cameron Beisal stood steady for Prairie, who were outshot 41-25. Noah Thul had a hand in every Prairie goal, finishing with a goal and two assists. Hudson Brehaut and Alexis Lavigne scored for Notre Dame in the loss.Ìý
RINK Kelowna (4) at West Van Academy (3) U18 Prep
RHA Kelowna would outshoot West Van 69-19 but Massimo Urbani would stand on his head, making 65 saves. His effort ultimately came up short, as Brayden Skogstad scored his first of the year with just under seven minutes remaining as RHA Kelowna beat West Van 4-3. The power play was key for RHA Kelowna, scoring three times on six attempts, while killing off the lone West Van power play attempt. Jaxon Fuder scored twice for West Van, while Gavin McKenna had a goal and an assist for RHA Kelowna.
