GAME DAY RECAP: October 22, 2023

South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) vs OHA Edmonton (5) U18 Prep

A strong second period performance handed OHA Edmonton the edge in this Sunday affair with SAHA. Brett Schrock (2G, 1A) led the team in points with two goals from the blueline. Carter Cunningham and Trip Jensen (1G, 1A) would score an early pair in the third for SAHA, but Dylan Konschuh鈥檚 second period tally was enough to be the game winner.

BWC Academy (2) vs OHA Edmonton (5) U15

OHA Edmonton closed out the undefeated weekend with a win over BWC Academy thanks to the performances of Brayden Tucker (2G, 1A) and Micah Montgomery (1G, 2A). The game would enter the third tied at one-a-piece but Porter Boisvert would capitalize off a rebound in the left circle to put his team up by one and spark a chain of four unanswered goals for OHA Edmonton. Adrian Ferro (27/29) backstopped OHA Edmonton to help close out their perfect weekend.

BWC Academy White (11) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy Navy (1) U17 Prep

BWC Academy White left their mark at the Frontier Ice Arena, closing out their third game over CDA Navy this weekend. Mark Lee (2G, 4A) and Gabriel Kaminski (3G, 2A) would tear up the scoresheet for six and five points respectively. Siwoo Lee for CDA Navy would spoil Jeevin Sandhu鈥檚 (10/11) shutout at the end of the third.

North Shore Warriors (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (12) U15

NAX鈥檚 dominant weekend closed out with another offensive explosion. Bronsyn Mouille (4G) did the most damage with a four-goal performance while Easton Doran (3G, 2A) picked up a hat-trick for himself as well. Four other skaters would chip in at least a three point effort over NSW.

Yale Hockey Academy (6) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U18 Prep

A hat-trick from Kamloops Blazers prospect, Tommy Lafreniere (3G, 1A), was enough to lead Yale over NSW. Furthermore, Spencer Hunnam (38/40) made 38-saves to keep Yale鈥檚 lead ahead of NSW. Hunter Aura (1G, 3A) also provided a four point night.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep

A late powerplay goal from Carson Smith got the ball rolling for five unanswered goals for OHA. Tristan Hoko (2G) would score a pair early in the second period. OHA wouldn鈥檛 surrender a shot in the second period to PCHA. Logan MacLean (48/54) made 48-saves in a hard fought effort for PCHA.

St. George’s School (8) vs Notre Dame (1) U15

Truly a game St. George鈥檚 forwards Zach Lam (3G, 2A), Logan Okamura (2G, 3A), and Shay Soo (1G, 4A) won鈥檛 soon forget, each collecting five points a piece in a 8-1 win over Notre Dame. Each of Lam鈥檚 points were primary. Carter Adams (33/34) also played a big role in St. George鈥檚 win, turning away 33-shots to help his academy close out the weekend.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

Wenatchee would score two goals 57-seconds apart in the first period to establish a lead versus Coeur d鈥橝lene on Sunday. Owen Eckdahl (1G, 1A) would further extend Wenatchee鈥檚 lead near the end of the second period. Carson Fowler (27/28) would surrender one late to CDA to break his shutout, but still managed to stop 27-shots to secure Wenatchee the victory.

Delta Hockey Academy (1) vs Edge School (9) U15

Colton Brum of Delta may have opened the scoring just 36-seconds in. However, Edge would take a stranglehold on the rest of the game, scoring nine unanswered and closing out their weekend with a blowout victory. Owen Wiemer (3G, 3A) led the way for Edge with six points while three other skaters eclipsed the three point mark.听

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (5) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (1) U17 Prep

Zane Price (2G, 1A), Rachlan Hay (1G, 1A), and Jake Brown all scored first period goals for PMHA as they jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead. Brodyn Wytinck would add a second period marker before Price put the game out of reach late in the third. Lawson Gardipy would end the Kyle Beilman (34/35) shutout bid with just 48 seconds remaining.听

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (11) U18 Prep

Avery Johnson (5A) led all skaters with five points, Presley Langevin (3G, 1A) tallied a hat-trick, and Gibson Horne (23/24) made 23 saves as PHA defeated PMHA 11-1. All but two PHA skaters found their names on the scoresheet in the victory. Kalix Monkman scored the lone PMHA goal in defeat.听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (9) vs Shawnigan Lake School (0) U15 Prep

RHA Kelowna fired 79 shots on target, finding the back of the net 9 times en route to their first win of the season. Brady Keith (2G) and Dominik Silbernagel (2G, 2A) each scored twice, while Braxton Gibson (17/17) made 17 saves to record the shutout.听

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs STAR Hockey Academy (7) U15

PCHA outshot STAR 34-33 but a 30 save performance from Bannen Clements (30/34) secured a STAR victory. Defenseman Kyler Bush (3G) and Beorn Beck (2G, 2A) paced the STAR offence. Emilio de la O Ruiz (1G, 1A), Nehemiah Plunkett (1G, 1A), and Sebastian Quast (1G, 1A) each had a goal and an assist for PCHA.听

CIH Academy White (2) vs Ontario Hockey Academy Prep (7) Eastern U18

Led by a four goal performance from Takanobu Hiraga (4) and a four assist effort from Mavrik Chan-Miguel (4A), OHA Prep defeated CIH Academy White 7-2. Oliver Kiraly (32/34) made 32 saves while Adam Racine (3A) chipped in with three assists. Andrew Mark and Noah Picken were the goal scorers for CIH Academy White.听

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15

Both teams fired 34 shots on net but Sam Trnecka (32/34) would outduel Dylan Mingo (29/34) to give Wenatchee a 5-2 win. Bryden Wagner (3G, 1A) recorded a hat-trick while Alex Haglund and Brayden Lee scored the other Wenatchee goals. Aiden Andrews (1G, 1A) and Bronson Lamontagne scored for RHA Kelowna in the loss.听

Delta Hockey Academy Black (0) vs BWC Academy (6) U15 Prep

BWC Academy outshot Delta Black 51-29 en route to a 6-0 win Sunday. After a scoreless first Connor Liu (1G, 1A) and Cohen Baker scored in the second for BWC Academy. Richard Wonyeneh, Declan Iacoviello (1G, 1A), Bruce Zhong and Justin Moon would score in the third for BWC Academy while Aiden Lazazzera (29/29) made 29 saves to earn the shutout.听

St. George’s School (4) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (5) U15 Prep

Delta Green handed St. George鈥檚 their first regulation loss of the 2023/24 season with a 5-4 victory Sunday. Jack Morgan and Caden Leibel got the party started in the first for Delta Green while Eddy Spytz responded for St. George鈥檚. Treyce Pavlic (1G, 1A) scored 43 seconds into the second as the third started 3-1 in Delta Green鈥檚 favour. Brock Crips (1G, 1A) would score early for St. George鈥檚 but Kayden Pratt would respond 33 seconds later. Jacob Schwartz (1G, 2A) and Lukasz McIsaac would score back to back goals to tie the game before Alexander Laing (1G, 2A) scored his 10th of the season midway through the third to secure the Delta Green win.听

Yale Hockey Academy (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U15

Jaxen McFegan (1G, 1A) opened the scoring with the lone first period goal for Yale 1:26 in. Adam Molinaro would tie the game midway through the second but Matteo Zenone would score the eventual game winner with 43 seconds remaining in the period. Kessler Hauser would add an insurance marker 37 seconds into the third and Maxx Trites (1G, 1A) would find the back of an empty net with 1:08 left to play. Nevin Connor (32/33) made 32 saves in net for the win,听

Yale Hockey Academy (7) vs North Shore Warriors (5) U15 Prep

Ollie Reid (2G, 2A) scored the lone first period goal and Matteo Di Stefano (1G, 1A) scored 30 seconds into the third as Yale held an early 2-0 advantage. But North Shore would respond with four unanswered in the second as Peter Banicevic, Kayden Runstedler (1G, 1A), Nash Dickson, and Lucas Lekakis all found the back of the net. Early in the third Shaun Hildebrandt (1G, 3A) and Jacob Dumansky (1G, 2A) would tie the game before Casey Pearson re-gave North Shore a 5-4 lead midway through the final frame. Reid would respond minutes later to again tie the game, before Gavin Selinger (1G, 1A) and Hudson Gehring found the back of the net to give Yale a 7-5 win.听
