Vision

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy aspires to be an outstanding educational and athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete.听 This high-quality experience is one where every athlete not-only learns skills, tactics and strategies of the game, but they improve as a player and individual while being coached using principles of positive coaching.听 Players have fun during practices and games and feel like an important part of the team, regardless of performance, all while learning life lessons that carry value beyond the ice rink.

EDUCATION

  • We are a fully accredited, private school with NCAA approved courses. Our players graduate from here with a diploma. We have in person learning with our own teachers, counselor, advisor, and principal. We do offer on-line courses if we don鈥檛 have courses needed by our students.
  • What are some of the things your program does to provide educational support?
    • Study sessions, small class sizes, regular communication with parents and coaches, regular and updated grades available through our school management software (Sycamore).听We also set time aside for 鈥渟tudy hall鈥 on our road trips when needed.
  • How are grades monitored and how often?
    • Our academic and hockey staff meet every week to monitor the academic progress of our student/athletes.
  • How are courses and the graduation path for student athletes chosen?
    • Graduation requirements are in compliance with the State of Idaho. Individualized course selection is determined by collaboration with the students and their families.
  • Do you have an academic probation policy?
    • Yes, in compliance with the CSSHL guidelines, students with below 70% in courses may be ineligible to compete in games with their teams.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE

  • At CDA Hockey Academy, our Program Coordinator will placesome of our out-of-town听student-athletes with local host/billet families in the community.听 Others may be placed in one of our two 鈥楧orm Houses鈥, which house up to 16 players each. 听The Dorm Houses, affectionately named 鈥楬ayden House鈥 and 鈥楢tlas House鈥, are ran by Dorm Parents and managed by the Program Coordinator. 听Our Billet and Dorm Parents are screened thoroughly to ensure that each family鈥檚 values meet the values set by our Academy, and provide a positive, supportive, nurturing home for our student-athletes to live in during their time with our Academy.
  • At CDA Hockey Academy, our student-athletes benefit greatly from either living in our Dorm Houses or with our Billet Families.听 Each home helps tofoster a sense of responsibility and character development in our young players, teaching them important life skills 鈥 such as time management, communication, accountability, and independence. 听Many also learn other important life skills such a cooking for themselves and learning to clean up after themselves. 听The meaningful connections our student-athletes make with both their roommates, dormmates and their billet families, is an integral part of听developing their own personal character. The rewards are endless. Our program believes in giving back to our community and volunteer in many local charities.

STUDENT ATHLETE HEALTH

  • At CDA Hockey, our Program Coordinator facilitates all our student-athletes medical needs and appointments. 听If a player sustains a bodily injury, the Program Coordinator will coordinate that he be seen by ourTeam Physical Therapist, Dave Andrews, who specializes in Sports Injuries. Dave Andrews will access the injury and what the treatment plan will be going forward. 听If a player sustains a head injury, the Program Coordinator will coordinate that he be seen by our Concussion Specialist, Dr. Craig Panos, who听is one of the leading Sports Doctors and Concussion Specialists in the entire Northwest. If a player sustains an illness and needs medical care, our Program Coordinator will coordinate all needed medical appointments to assure our students athletes are healthy and thriving.

SCHEDULE

  • School begins at 8:15am and since hockey is part of our curriculum, our teams practice during school hours either 8:00am-9:15am, 11:15am-12:30pm or 2:15pm-3:30pm. After school, each team spends (1) hour with our strength coach where we focus on sport specific training, yoga and recovery days. Our school, field house, weight room, arena/team dressing rooms are in one location which is very convenient for our student/athletes. We are able to get everything (school, practices, skills sessions, off ice training) done by 5:00pm
  • We play 50-55 games every year. 36 regular season, CSSHL games and 3-5 games in the CSSHL Championship. We play 10-15 other games (exhibition and tournaments)
  • We have a full-time strength coach that works with our teams 4 x week, every week. We focus on sport specific training and use these hours for recovery days and or Yoga.
  • We start after Labor Day and go through the month of May. We stay on the ice 4 x week right through the end of May.

    • Tuition for 2024-25 was $26,995 for USA families and $28,995 for International
    • Tuition includes everything for academics and hockey
    • Our Dorm/Billet fees are $625/mo.
