Prairie Hockey Academy (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U15 Division II Western Championships

Through the game鈥檚 first forty minutes, you would have been hard-pressed to find much in the way of flaws in Prairie Hockey Academy鈥檚 effort against Pacific Coast Hockey Academy on Tuesday. Tristan Reimer scored just 22 seconds into the game to get Prairie off and running, a lead built upon by Noah Delaurier鈥檚 shorthanded goal later in the first period. If you could pick out anything Prairie did wrong in the first two periods, it was their disciplinary issues. However, their penalty kill was perfect, successful eleven times in the first two periods, including killing Reimer鈥檚 five-minute major in the second period. A switch flipped come the third period, with PCHA finally breaking through, scoring twice in just over five minutes to drag the game back to level. Hudson Honey, though, was able to score merely 24 seconds after PCHA had tied the game, re-establishing Prairie鈥檚 advantage and chasing PCHA starting goaltender Shay Van Slyke. Jace Zemanek came in to play the last fifteen minutes of the third period, and while he was superb, making 11 saves on 12 shots, he鈥檇 let in one of his first. Prairie took a 4-2 lead into the last four minutes of play, but any level of comfort surrounding their advantage would be thrust into serious jeopardy. Hudson Elke pulled PCHA back within one, and marching toward the closing stages, they鈥檇 be successful in their pursuit of more. Liam Hussey (2G, 1A), PCHA鈥檚 best player throughout the game, scored to tie the game with 91 seconds remaining, and he wasn鈥檛 done there. In PCHA鈥檚 next offensive foray, Hussey poked the puck into Brayden Lindsay鈥檚 path, who broke in and tucked it away, giving PCHA their first lead of the game with a mere 64 seconds left in the third period, helping the Sea Devils to the 5-4 victory.聽

Indigenous Sports Academy (2) vs STAR Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep Division II Western Championships

STAR Hockey Academy鈥檚 first-period effort against ISA was akin to a dormant volcano: dangerous, sure, but not actively threatening. ISA outshot STAR 15-5 through one period, controlling the bulk of the play, generating scoring chances both five-on-five and on the man advantage, and leaving the first with a 2-0 lead. The thing about a 鈥渄ormant鈥 threat, though, is that it can very easily become threatening, and with very little warning. STAR took over the game early in the second period, ultimately outshooting their opponents 16-6 and very quickly changing the complexion of the contest. Jaxson Trichak scored first, Anderson Carter (2G) tied it, and Colton Stabbler gave STAR the lead before the second period had even concluded, and unfortunately for ISA, they didn鈥檛 see their fortunes improve in the third. Carter鈥檚 second of the game on an early powerplay propelled STAR to their first multi-goal lead of the day, a lead they鈥檇 only build upon, eventually winning 6-2.

Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep Western Championships

Jack Morgan鈥檚 domination of the U17 Prep division for Delta Hockey Academy this season has been, above all, consistent. In Delta鈥檚 most recent game against Yale during the regular season, Morgan starred with two goals and six points. In yesterday鈥檚 opener against NAX, Morgan鈥檚 performance was the difference, with his hat trick helping Delta to the 6-5 win. It took Morgan (2G, 1A) barely half of the first period to make his mark Tuesday against Yale, taking advantage of a well-worked Dylan Hurren (2G, 1A) setup to open the scoring. Morgan scored the first goal of the second period as well, with his fifth of the Western Championships already, to extend the lead beyond what Yale would be able to recover from. By the end of the third, Delta had found the back of the net six times, comfortably controlling the majority of the game to see out the victory. Morgan and Hurren ended with three points apiece, with Morgan now up to five goals and six points through his two Western Championships games so far.聽

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep Division II Western Championships

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy鈥檚 opening goal of Tuesday鈥檚 game must鈥檝e felt akin to breaking through a dam, with PMHA all over the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy from the drop of the puck. Keagan Bradshaw stood tall in the first, stopping each of PMHA鈥檚 14 shots on goal, but he couldn鈥檛 stay perfect forever. Just under six minutes into the second period, Collin Friedrich (3G) scored to open PMHA鈥檚 account for the day, a goal that would be closely followed by two more just like it. By the time the second period was over, PMHA led 4-1, extending their lead by virtue of two powerplay goals in the back half of the second. Wenatchee managed to make a game out of things with a pair of goals early in the third period, but what followed was more powerplay prowess from PMHA, as Friedrich completed his hat-trick and Casey Silverman (1G, 1A) scored late to seal the 6-3 victory.聽

Fort Erie International Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) East U18

Fort Erie International Hockey Academy and Okanagan Hockey Ontario鈥檚 game on Tuesday was, above all, a battle between two goaltenders. Fort Erie controlled the bulk of the first period, meaning Kristian Olsen-Makdessian needed to be strong, setting the table for Okangan Hockey Ontario to dominate the second, with this time Fort Erie鈥檚 Ryan Schultz standing tall to shut the door. Through sixty minutes, both teams had scored once apiece, with both goaltenders saving all but one shot apiece through three periods. Fort Erie鈥檚 Brett Krtanjek had scored in three consecutive games heading into Tuesday, and riding his hot hand, he made short work of overtime for Fort Erie, grabbing the puck and scoring a mere 20 seconds into overtime to earn his club the victory.聽

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs STAR Hockey Academy (6) U15 Division II Western Championships

In STAR Hockey Academy鈥檚 Western Championships opener on Monday, the duo of Seve Paladino and Camden Freeman combined to take over the show in their 9-2 win over Prairie, combining for four goals and eight points in the victory. The pair wouldn鈥檛 be quite as productive but equally effective at guiding their team to victory on Tuesday. Freeman (2G) opened the scoring within the game鈥檚 first three minutes, and STAR wouldn鈥檛 look back from there. ET Kennedy (1G, 2A) and Eli Solberg both scored powerplay goals to extend STAR鈥檚 advantage, and Freeman鈥檚 second of the game sent his squad into the third period with a four-goal lead. William Clarke was able to pull Notre Dame back within three early, but that鈥檚 as close as the Hounds would come, and two more goals from STAR in the third saw them to the 6-1 victory.

Notre Dame Hounds (2) vs St. George’s School (4) U17 Prep Division II Western聽Championships

If there was anything flawed about St. George鈥檚 victory over ISA in their Western Championships opener on Monday, it was their start; they spotted ISA a two-goal cushion within the first four and a half minutes of the game. That meant St. George鈥檚 had no choice but to play catch-up throughout, and to their credit, they did it well, rattling off six unanswered goals in the victory. If improving their start was the objective, St. George鈥檚 did so in very convincing fashion, outshooting Notre Dame 13-8 in the first and scoring their fourth goal of the game less than six minutes into the second period. Aaron Castro, who scored a hat-trick on Monday, popped up with a pair of powerplay points, including a primary assist on the game-winner early in the second. Notre Dame was able to score once at the end of the second and once at the start of the third to make the end of the game competitive, but 4-2 was as close as the Hounds were to get to St. George鈥檚, who start their Western Championships off with back-to-back wins.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) vs BWC Academy (5) U17 Prep Division II Western Championships

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy and BWC Academy鈥檚 game on Tuesday boiled down to which squad鈥檚 special teams units could prevail in a game largely decided with one team on the man advantage. BWC鈥檚 special teams production was no doubt more timely, scoring the first goal of each period on the powerplay; Aiden Baker made it 1-0 early in the first period and 2-1 early in the second period, before setting up Ayden Saran, whose powerplay goal made it 5-4 early in the third period. Akira Ota (2G) scored two second-period goals of his own to keep CDA in the contest, but ultimately, BWC managed to find a response each time one would be required, and a strong performance from Jeevin Sandhu helped BWC to the victory, a bounceback result after they鈥檇 lost 6-2 to Shawnigan Lake on Monday.聽

North Shore Warriors (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U15 Western Championships

Monday鈥檚 outing for Benjamin Boudreau in between the pipes for the North Shore Warriors was no doubt a game the young goaltender would rather leave behind him. Edge School managed to score seven on 19 third-period shots, eventually winning 10-3, but despite the loss, Boudreau was chosen to start again Tuesday for the Warriors. Boudreau was beaten just once in the first period, thanks to Bennett Pattison scoring on the powerplay, but Calgary International Hockey Academy could have easily produced more without Boudreau鈥檚 efforts. North Shore tied the game on a second-period powerplay, with Mattias Gallina tying the game up at one. A mere 54 seconds later, North Shore would take the lead, with Cohen Waite (4A) setting up Brody Watson to score, sending the Warriors into the third-period with a 2-1 lead. CIHA鈥檚 powerplay produced again early in the third period through Liam Nycholat (1G, 1A), who tied the game at one, but two quick responses from Knox Leeson and Oliver Demarco (1G, 1A) gave North Shore a two-goal lead that, with the help of Benjamin Boudreau in between the pipes, they were able to hold on to. CIHA scored late, making it a one-goal game, but it was North Shore who ultimately proved victorious by a 4-3 scoreline, with Benjamin Boudreau鈥檚 forty saves the catalyst for victory.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) vs Edge School (7) U15 Western Championships

Edge School鈥檚 first game of the Western Championships saw them get better and better as the contest went on, ultimately scoring seven in the third period alone in their opening game win. They picked up on Tuesday right where they left off on Monday, exploding out of the gates with four goals on 17 first-period shots, including one of the best we鈥檝e seen from the Western Championships, with Brody Antignani going between-the-legs on a breakaway to make it 2-0 Edge School. OHA were the better team in the second period, even pulling the game back within one goal, but Edge School鈥檚 three-goal third period helped them to what ultimately was a dominant 7-3 victory. Defenceman Tyler O鈥橤orman, who was brilliant in Edge鈥檚 opener, was superb on Tuesday, scoring twice.聽

Delta Hockey Academy Black (5) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (8) U15 Western Championships

When you only outplay your opponent in one of a hockey game鈥檚 three periods, you鈥檙e often going to find yourselves hard-pressed to win said hockey game. Delta Black was the better team on Tuesday against the Nothern Alberta Xtreme in the first and third periods, outshooting, outchancing, and outscoring their opponents in both. Being the better team for most of the contest, however, mattered very little, thanks to NAX鈥檚 clinical offensive showing in the second. Down 2-1 through one, NAX absolutely dominated the second period, outshooting Delta Black 23-7 and outscoring them by a staggering six goals to one, meaning the Albertan side took a 7-3 lead into the third period. The second-period damage from NAX proved to be enough, and while Delta Black鈥檚 third-period efforts made the game closer, they ultimately fell 8-5.聽

Delta Hockey Academy White (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (8) U15 Western Championships

Yale came out to play in their second game at the CSSHL Western Championships, scoring three goals in the first. Carson Brown (1G, 1A) would score the lone goal for Delta White in the opening frame but was immediately matched with a tuck from Ben Bury. To open the second, Connor Baines (4G) started to inflict his wrath, scoring three goals in only 3:35 to cap off a four goal performance. Delta White would nab an extra two goals to close the second and decrease their deficit to two. However, Yale kept pouring on the offence in the third as Max Ritchey and Mason Cumiskey (2G) restored Yale鈥檚 five goal spread. The Lions would go on to take this one a commanding 8-3 with Lucca Tassone (33/36) picking up the win between the pipes.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (9) U17 Prep聽Western Championships

Nolan Harding opened the scoring for RHA Winnipeg just over five minutes into play. However, RHA Kelowna would get the better of their eastern counterparts later in the frame, going up 2-1 after goals from Ronin Martin (1G, 1A) and Porter Rossi. RHA Kelowna鈥檚 offensive trend would continue in the second. Jack Brown (1G, 1A) would lift a wrister past Chase Charriere (32/41) early on while Maddox Bentley (2G) scored back-to-back goals, including a shorthanded tally. RHA Kelowna would add another four in the third to rack up an eventual 9-2 win over RHA Winnipeg. Bentley and Preston Kelly-Paquet (2G) would each end the game with a pair of goals while Asher Netherton (25/27) picked up 25-saves and an assist from the crease.

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep Western Championships

Prairie dominated the opening twenty, outshooting OHA 22-6. However, it wasn鈥檛 until the final minute of play before Prairie would garner something out of their high volume of shots. Ethan Unger鈥檚 (1G, 1A) low point shot would get past Charlie Peppinck (33/37) to give Prairie the lead through the first frame. PHA would continue applying the pressure in the second with more impact on the scoresheet this time around. Luke Pratte and Hogan Hickman would score back-to-back powerplay goals to extend Prairie鈥檚 lead to three while Van Huebner鈥檚 (1G, 1A) point shot was the cherry on top, giving PHA a 4-0 lead through forty. Linden Sobocan (7/7) would come into play for OHA following Prairie鈥檚 fourth goal. OHA would go on to outshoot PHA 19-4 in third as their season was potentially on the line. Trey Tourigny would break the goose egg, getting OHA on the board. OHA would go on to play with an empty cage with as much as 8-minutes on the clock looking for a miracle. Prairie would hold on to their lead after Dane Chalupa added an empty netter with just under six minutes left in the contest. Drake Mooney (36/37) once again posted a spectacular performance, making at least 36-stops for a second consecutive start. For a second straight season, Prairie clinched a spot in the U17 Prep semi-finals, coming in as the 12th seed and going against the odds, knocking off the number 1 seed, Okanagan Hockey Academy.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) vs St. George’s School (3) U15 Division II Western Championships

Following a scoreless first, Kyle Schierling (1G, 1A) would jam home a loose puck in close to give the initial lead to RHA Kelowna. A few minutes would pass and St. George鈥檚 would find themselves on the board after recently named February U15 Player of the Month, Hudson Lesk (1G, 1A), would capitalise on an end-to-end effort for his first of the Western Championships. However, St. George鈥檚 momentum wouldn鈥檛 last long as RHA Kelowna would pot back-to-back goals to close out the second courtesy of Austin Schultz and Asher Simms (2G). Nick Hill (2G) brought the Saints back into contention with an early goal in the third, but once again RHA Kelowna鈥檚 offence would strike for another two quick goals. Harrison Sharman would score RINK鈥檚 fourth goal after a slick move to the middle before rifling one top shelf over the glove of Jonah Gamble (26/31). Sharman鈥檚 tally would stand as the game winner as Hill would garner another late goal for St. George鈥檚. Griffin Prairie Chicken (31/34) captured the win in goal, steering aside 31-shots to secure the 2-0-0 record for RHA Kelowna.

Edge School (2) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep Western Championships

SAHA had total control through twenty minutes of play. Brennan Finke (2G) got the ball rolling a mere 51-seconds into play. Halfway through the frame, Dalin Nixon doubled SAHA鈥檚 lead with a rising wrister off聽 the rush. Less than a minute later, Sully Kufflick nabbed SAHA鈥檚 third of the evening. Edge would find a spark in the second after Chase McNamara struck shorthanded. However, Matthew Cameron-Skidmore (1G, 1A) would match Edge, scoring a shorthanded goal of his own only three minutes later. A late marker from Antonio Cazac gave Edge some momentum heading into the third, but SAHA kept their firm grip on this contest in the final frame. Finke would score his second of the evening for the lone goal of the third, sealing the win for SAHA, improving their record to 1-0-1-0.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep Western Championships

Our late game consisted of a defensive showdown between PCHA and CIHA. PCHA had the upper hand after Treytin Frizzell鈥檚 wrist shot floated past Ethan Mann (24/25). A few minutes would pass and CIHA would find their footing on the scoresheet after William Matte wired one top left. Scoring would resume in the second in CIHA鈥檚 favour courtesy of Zane Rains (1G, 1A) and some fortune from a sharp angle. Just over a minute later, Zachery Hall would extend CIHA鈥檚 lead, tightening their grip over PCHA. CIHA would continue to hold on strong in the third, outshooting PCHA 16-6, suffocating their offence. Ander Reyes (37/40) would make 37-stops between the pipes for CIHA, stopping all 16-shots in the third. Mann would pick up the win in the crease for CIHA as they improve to 2-0-0-0 in the postseason.

Bishop鈥檚 College School (14) vs Mount Academy (1) East U17

Bishop鈥檚 scored early and often as they beat Mount 14-1 early Sunday morning. Grady Cohen (3G, 3A) and Jan Vladar (3G, 2A) each recorded hat-tricks while Masanori Black (3A) and Samuel Boutet (3A) had a hat-trick of assists. Jace Hynes scored the lone Mount goal, beating Egor Oganesyan (17/18) midway through the second.聽

Mount Academy (2) vs King鈥檚 Edgehill School (8) East U18

Carter Cooling鈥檚 six-point performance helped King鈥檚 Edgehill School get an 8-2 win in their senior game against Mount Academy. Carter Cooling (3G, 3A) got his big game going early, setting up Jack Sangster 12 seconds into the game to give King鈥檚 Edgehill the lead. In the following minutes, Justin Hughes (1G, 1A) responded for Mount, potting his ninth goal of the season. Cooling found the back of the net midway through the period to give King鈥檚 Edgehill a 2-1 advantage heading into the dressing room. Mount鈥檚 Cameron Ellsworth tied the game up 7:19 into the second. King鈥檚 Edgehill would take over after that. Just over a minute later, Cole Cooper scored the eventual game-winning goal for King鈥檚 Edgehill with Artem Dorofeev (3A) picking up the second assist in his three-point game. Cooling doubled King鈥檚 Edgehill鈥檚 lead with his second goal of the game to close out the scoring in the second. Liam Nash, Alex Doyle (1G, 1A), and Grady Betts (1G, 1A) scored three goals that came 2:21 apart, giving King鈥檚 Edgehill lots of breathing room. Cooling closed out King鈥檚 Edgehill goal-scoring to cap off his first career CSSHL hat trick. William Bridego (24/26) turned aside 24 shots for King鈥檚 Edgehill.聽

North Shore Warriors (5) vs Delta Hockey Academy (7) U17

Akash Raj scored twice in the third including the game-winning goal in Delta Hockey Academy鈥檚 7-5 victory over the North Shore Warriors. The two teams traded goals in the opening period with Santiago Skinner scoring an unassisted goal to give Delta the lead before Ryder Fitzpatrick replied for North Shore in the final minute of the period. Kaydin Halladay鈥檚 12th goal of the season helped Delta retake the lead but 13 seconds later North Shore鈥檚 Noah Russo (1G, 1A) evened the game up at two. The trend of the game continued with Delta taking their third lead thanks to Emil Najm (2G, 1A) scoring the first of his two goals on the day. Once again, North Shore had the answer with Graeson Miller (2G) scoring to tie the game up 3-3 after two periods. North Shore would buck the trend in the third with Santino Esposito (1G, 1A) scoring on the power play to take their first lead of the game. Delta鈥檚 offence exploded after that. Akash Raj (2G, 2A) found the back of the net twice with Najm and Jack Triance adding a marker in the four-goal outburst. Miller got one back for North Shore in the final minutes but it wouldn鈥檛 be enough to make a comeback. Lincoln Arkinstall (3A) and Otto Puhakka (3A) each had three points in Delta鈥檚 win. Blake Langdon (19/24) made 19 saves for Delta.聽

Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U18 Prep

A five-goal first period powered the Northern Alberta Xtreme to a 7-5 win over RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg. NAX鈥檚 offence didn鈥檛 waste any time, getting goals from Michael Donovan (1G, 1A), Kayne Wright (1G, 1A), and Darius Hordal in the first five minutes. Gavin Harrison (1G, 1A) extended NAX鈥檚 lead with his 14th goal of the season. RHA Winnipeg got on the board in the final three minutes with a goal from Carter Haney (1G, 2A). RHA Winnipeg got into trouble before the end of the period, taking two penalties in 27 seconds to send NAX to a two-man advantage. Jake Walker (1G, 2A) capitalized with two seconds to go in the opening period and Carter Ellsworth (1G, 2A) scored again on the power play 59 seconds into the second. Despite being down five, RHA Winnipeg showed no quit. River Arnason (1G, 2A), Jett Deschamps, and Cohen Lewko scored in the middle frame to cut the deficit to 6-4 heading into the third. With his goal, Arnason became the first member of the U18 Prep division to reach 30 goals this season. Drayden Uhrina continued RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 comeback bid early in the third, scoring his 22nd goal of the season to make it a one-goal game. NAX鈥檚 defensemen had enough after that goal and shut down RHA Winnipeg, limiting them to four shots in the third. Grady Wedman (1G, 1A) sealed the win for NAX with a goal in the final minute. Nate Stevens (19/24) got his 13th straight win, making 19 saves for the Xtreme.聽

Notre Dame (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (12) U15 Prep

Seven different goal scorers helped the Northern Alberta Xtreme score a 12-0 win over Notre Dame. Riley Brown (3G, 1A) opened the Xtreme鈥檚 regular season with a hat trick in September and closed it out in the same fashion today. The hat tricks kept coming for NAX with Brady Ondrus (3G, 1A) turning the trick for the second time this season. Nolan Wolitski (2G, 1A), Corbin Dunphy (1G, 2A), Joel Ngandu (1G, 2A), Luka Samu (1G, 2A), and Ahmad Fayad (1G, 1A) rounded out the goal-scoring for the Xtreme. Cruz Jim (5A) had a five-assist performance, helping him become the first defenseman to reach 65 points this season. Karter Gibson (12/12) recorded his second consecutive shutout for NAX, stopping all 12 shots he faced. Ben Meyer (20/24) made 20 saves in relief for Notre Dame.聽

North Shore Warriors (3) vs BWC Academy (6) U18 Prep

Christian Revel鈥檚 three-point game helped BWC Academy double up the North Shore Warriors 6-3. BWC Academy had a big first period, getting goals from Revel (1G, 2A), Lukas Lima, and Trevor Oishi that came 2:50 apart to give them a 3-0 lead. Liam McCloy got one back for North Shore in the second, scoring on the man advantage. BWC Academy鈥檚 offence struck quickly again with Charlie Robinson and Richard Wonyeneh (1G, 1A) scoring twice in 58 seconds. Shortly after, Vladislav Ibragimov scored to cut North Shore鈥檚 deficit down to 5-2. BWC Academy restored their four-goal lead before the period ended with a power play goal by Kadyn O鈥橞rien. North Shore capped off the scoring in the final two minutes with Matteo Paradiso (1G, 1A) scoring his 22nd goal of the season. Noah Sinagowitz (26/28) and Alder Ames (11/12) split time in BWC Academy鈥檚 net. Sinagowitz stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced in the first two periods. RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Notre Dame (5/SO) U17

Pearson Sokoloski (2G, 1A) and Joshua Heitman (43/47) helped Notre Dame overcome a two-goal deficit and beat RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg 5-4 in a shootout. Elijah Rempel got RHA Winnipeg on the board. U15 Prep call-up Athens Shingoose continued to make a big impact, scoring his fourth goal in his third game in the U17 division to give RHA Winnipeg a 2-0 lead. Notre fought back midway through the second with John-Paul Pogson and Pearson Sokoloski scoring twice in quick succession to tie the game at two. RHA Winnipeg retook the lead a few minutes later on an unassisted marker by Atticus Cruz (2G). Notre Dame responded with a power play marker from Landon Sokolaski (1G, 1A) late in the period to send the teams into the room all even 3-3. Special teams came up big for Notre Dame again early in the third with Pearson Sokoloski scoring shorthanded for his second goal of the game. Atticus Cruz would get it right back for RHA Winnipeg, scoring his 15th goal of the season 47 seconds later. Notre Dame netminder Joshua Heitman stood tall for the rest of the period, stopping 14 of the 15 shots sent his way, sending the game to overtime. The extra frame solved nothing so the game went to a shootout. Jordan Van Langen and Carter Smith came up big in the shootout, keeping Notre Dame alive when they needed to score. Then, in the sixth round, Ryder Pisiak scored the game-winning goal to complete the comeback.聽

Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

South Alberta Hockey Academy scored three times in the first and never looked back, beating Prairie Hockey Academy 6-3. SAHA jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening period on goals from Kale McCann (1G, 1A), Gavin Lesiuk (2G), and Avery Watson. Prairie got one back midway through the second with Rylan Emigh (1G, 1A) striking on the power play. Luke Ruptash (1G, 1A) and Lesiuk extended SAHA鈥檚 lead to four with two goals in 36 seconds. Prairie pushed back in the third with a pair of goals from Griffin Horne (2G) to make it 5-3. That would be the closest Prairie would get as SAHA sealed the win with an empty-net goal by Riley Steen in the dying seconds. Kannen Kirkwood (28/31) got his third straight win for SAHA, stopping 28 of the 31 shots he faced. Cameron Beisal (12/14) made 12 saves in relief for Prairie.聽

North Shore Warriors (1) vs St. George’s School (9) U15 Prep

Louis Oscar Holowaychuk joined the 50-goal club in St. George鈥檚 School 9-1 win over the North Shore Warriors. Holowaychuk鈥檚 (1G, 2A) milestone marker came 7:13 into the third period. He鈥檚 the fifth player all-time to hit 50 goals in a U15 Prep season joining the likes of Connor Bedard, Logan Stankoven, Dylan Guenther, and Liam Ruck. St. George鈥檚 dominated this game from start to finish. They never trailed and outshot North Shore 64-14. Noah Fowler (2G, 1A), Logan Okamura (1G, 2A), Nathaniel Moore (1G, 1A), Bradey Ching (2A), and Zach Lam (2A) had multi-point games for St. George鈥檚. The defensemen contributed four goals for St. George鈥檚 with Holden Wouters (1G, 1A), Tarik Lammam, Quinn Pickering, and Alexander Rode each getting a marker. Kashmir Sandhu scored North Shore鈥檚 lone goal on a power play in the third. Joffrey Chan (13/14) kicked out 13 of the 14 shots he faced to get his 13th win of the season for St. George鈥檚.聽

Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

Nathaniel Danielson鈥檚 three-point game propelled Delta Hockey Academy to a 4-2 win over Yale Hockey Academy. Gus Schill gave Yale the lead in the first five minutes, scoring his 14th goal of the season. Later in the period, Danielson (2G, 1A) found the back of the net to even the game up. Both Alexis Ehrman (30/31) and Hannah Palumbo (27/27) were perfect through forty minutes of play, stopping 17 and 20 shots respectively. Come the third period, Ehrman was the first to break as Keyana Bert scored her 16th of the season to give SAHA the lead. Palumbo would maintain her shutout in this contest, stopping all 27-shots faced through sixty minutes, recording her first shutout of the season.

St. George’s School (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4/OT) U18 Prep

Shawnigan found their legs early against their Lower Mainland rivals, scoring twice in the opening ten minutes to establish an early lead. Weston Ebrahim (2G) was responsible for each Shawnigan goal. London Taylor (1G, 1A) would respond for the Saints soon after, scoring shorthanded to cut their deficit to one. However, Brandon Kendall would restore Shawnigan鈥檚 two goal advantage with a late goal in the first. St. George鈥檚 would find their groove in the second, erasing their deficit after Brendan Morgan and Sam Auld scored a pair of late goals before the ice clean. The third period wasn鈥檛 enough to find our winner so overtime was needed. St. George鈥檚 would take a penalty in the extra frame, ultimately leading to Theirry Demers鈥 overtime winner to give Shawnigan their 19th win of the campaign. Will Stonehouse (45/48) played a vital role in Shawnigan鈥檚 win, stopping 45-shots, including all 15 he faced in the third period.

North Shore Warriors (3) vs St. Mary’s Academy (2) Female U18 Prep

The early Saturday morning clash between the North Shore Warriors and St. Mary鈥檚 Academy Flames posed the Warriors an opportunity to bounce back from yesterday鈥檚 loss against Bourget College鈥檚 Varsity side, while St. Mary鈥檚 look to win again after Friday鈥檚 triumph over Bourget鈥檚 Prep team. Mullen MacIntyre opened her account for the season with the first goal of the game for St. Mary鈥檚, giving her team the lead until later in the period, when Lily Zohner would respond for North Shore. The only goal of the second-period came from Reese Kartusch, who gave St. Mary鈥檚 the lead through two periods and gave North Shore twenty minutes to stave off their second loss in as many days. The Warriors, though, pulled through in the third, and two goals in less than five minutes from Kaida Okamura and Brielle Banton earned them their first lead of the game, and the only one they鈥檇 need, as North Shore took the contest 3-2.聽

Prairie Hockey Academy (7) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) U17

Prairie Hockey Academy鈥檚 dominant first period set a foundation they鈥檇 only build upon, as Reid Kawaguchi (2G, 1A), Cohen Greenwood (1G, 2A), and Tyson Ross (3A) led the way for PHA to defeat the Northern Alberta Xtreme 7-0. Prairie flew out of the gates, scoring through Kase Gellner (1G, 1A) after merely 85 seconds, and outshooting their opponent 18-3 in the first. From there, NAX managed to rev up the offensive pressure slightly, but Cole Fox responded with a stop any time they鈥檇 produce a chance, eventually earning a 21-save shutout.

Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (7)聽 Female U18 Prep

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy鈥檚 Female U18 team had been on the cusp of earning their first win of February at a number of different points, including Friday, when they lost 4-3 to Delta Black in a tightly fought battle. There was nothing tightly fought about their Saturday matchup against Okanagan Hockey Academy Black, though. In each of the three periods, Pilot Mound heavily outshot their opponents, ultimately throwing 42 shots on the OHA Black goal. They鈥檇 lead by a single goal after one, but an offensive explosion in the second would carry into the third, and led by big performances from McKayla Romano (2G), Ashlyn Kuffler (1G, 3A), Sophie Drummond (1G, 2A), Addison Scoville (3A), and Emma Asplund (3A), Pilot Mound emphatically bumped the slump and won 7-0.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (8) U15 Prep

Oftentimes, in close games, a flurry of action; a lot occurring in a short amount of time can render the rest of the battle obsolete, and be pointed to as the primary thing that won the game for the victor. It鈥檚 not often, though, that you could say a two-minute and eighteen-second stretch of play in the second period decided a game that ultimately ended 8-2. Such was the case in Pilot Mound Hockey Academy and Burnaby Winter Club Academy鈥檚 U15 Prep battle on Saturday morning. Despite BWC outshooting Pilot Mound 16-11 after twenty minutes, Pilot Mound took a 2-1 lead into the second period. Bastian Lamarche would take a penalty in the second, and on the BWC powerplay chance, Logan Henry (1G, 2A) scored to tie the game at two goals apiece. That was when BWC would explode, as in the 2:18 following Henry鈥檚 goal, they鈥檇 get three more, with Cohen Baker scoring twice and Kenzo Gibson (1G, 1A) once. Emboldened after the break, BWC鈥檚 5-2 lead through two periods of play would only be built upon, thanks to Justin Moon scoring three goals on the powerplay in the third period alone. Adding to his goal in the first, Moon scored four in the game, joined by Logan Henry and Jackson Beggs (4A) in earning three or more points in the 8-2 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep

Nothing is won in hockey without the contribution from every area of a team, but when you have the star power possessed by RHA Winnipeg, sometimes only a couple of guys can guide your team to victory. Easton Pitz (1G, 3A) started off what was a big day for him with the only goal of the first period, but after the break, WHL draft top prospect Athens Shingoose took less than nine minutes to score a hat-trick. Brady Filmon assisted on all three of Shingoose鈥檚 goals, and a pair of third-period goals from Markus Knaub led RHA Winnipeg to a big victory over Pacific Coast. Despite the 8-1 scoreline, the game, especially the first half of it, was closer than the scoreline suggests, and DJ Mecas鈥 strong performance, and 28 saves, were necessary to guide RHA Winnipeg to victory.

Delta Hockey Academy Green (5/SO) vs Edge School Female (4) U18 Prep

Heading into Saturday鈥檚 game against Edge School, it had been some time since Delta Hockey Academy Green was beaten in the U18 Prep division, winning every game they鈥檝e played since December 15. The survival of their winning streak hinged on how they鈥檇 handle Edge, and after a scoreless first period, Gabriella Lee (1G, 1A) gave DHA Green a 1-0 lead merely 79 seconds into the second period. Samantha Baker pulled Edge back level, but goals from Saya Earl and Molly Cole gave DHA Green a two-goal lead, a position they鈥檇 been comfortable in throughout the last two months. Comfort is dangerous, though, and after Cassia Severin would pull Edge back within one on the powerplay, Avery Michaluk scored to send the game to overtime. The five-minute extra period came and went without any game-ending incidents, and after the first six shooters had resulted in one goal apiece, the game was eventually won by Molly Cole in the shootout for DHA Green. Jillian Matthews stopped three of four in the shootout, adding to her 34 stops on 38 shots for the win.聽

Selwyn House School (2) vs Stanstead College (3/OT) East U17

Stanstead College鈥檚 play since the new year has been consistently solid, but yesterday, Selwyn House School handed them their second loss of 2025, thanks to 25 stops from Luca Ottoni. Sunday鈥檚 rematch saw Ottoni return to the crease for Selwyn, but he鈥檇 surrender the first game, thanks to Liam Armit (2G) scoring the icebreaker. Selwyn forced back and found a response before the break, with Matheo Lazanis scoring with under four minutes left to make it 1-1. Selwyn did a good job at generating chances, but for a long time, couldn’t solve Gabriel Poitras in the Stanstead net. After Josh Seeback scored for Stanstead in the second, it looked like they might be able to see out the win, before Joel Downey managed to beat Poitras on one of Selwyn鈥檚 14 third-period shots. The game needed overtime, but not a substantial amount of it, and after 48 seconds, a sweet play from Matej Dobos (2A) found Armit who made no mistake in scoring his second of the game and winning it in overtime for Stanstead College.

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (3) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

There鈥檚 something to be said about a team always determined to score the next goal. It鈥檚 extremely difficult to wrestle momentum back into your favour from one of these teams, especially when they鈥檙e in the lead. As much was true today about the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy, who hosted the Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy in a very hard-fought affair. Wenatchee scored the only goal of the first period, and from there, every time CDA would fight back and tie the game, Wenatchee grabbed the next one. That happened throughout the second period, with CDA鈥檚 Alexander Skuratov and Wenatchee鈥檚 Gregor Ermellini trading two goals apiece. After Skuratov scored CDA鈥檚 third tying goal of the game, the two teams entered the third period still tied at three. However, Wenatchee picked the perfect moment to break through on the powerplay, and Cameron Kimmerly (1G, 1A) eventually scored to give his team a lead they鈥檇 this time be able to protect.聽

OHA Edmonton (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U18 Prep

Two teams coming off emphatically dominant victories Friday in the U18 Prep division squared off against one another on Saturday morning, with OHA Edmonton looking to add to NAX鈥檚 mere two regulation losses this season. In yesterday鈥檚 win over CIHA, forward Michael Donovan took over, scoring the go-ahead goal late in the second before two in the third to complete his hat-trick and his team鈥檚 6-2 win. Today, Donovan picked up precisely where he鈥檇 left off, scoring the opening goal of the game 2:38 into the first period. Ben Deacon (1G, 1A) would extend the NAX lead to 2-0 later in the first, and from there, and firmly in the driver鈥檚 seat, NAX wouldn鈥檛 relinquish control from there. Jake Walker added another goal, with Tyler Swanson鈥檚 20 saves enough for the shutout in NAX鈥檚 3-0 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (9) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (0) Female U18 Prep

If this was soccer, the matchup would be considered the 鈥淩INK derby,鈥 so to speak. RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna hasn鈥檛 looked threatened in many of their games this season, and the game against their combatants from Winnipeg wasn鈥檛 an exception. RHA Kelowna scored five goals on their 24 first-period shots, and although the rest of the game wasn鈥檛 as slanted, it wasn鈥檛 close. By the time the final buzzer sounded, RHA Kelowna had scored nine times, with three players picking up multi-goal games; Kennedy Sisson (3G), Alida Korte (2G, 1A), and Emelia McDermid (2G). Although Jaya Schippel鈥檚 task at hand didn鈥檛 provide her with constant pressure, she still earned her shutout, making an impressive 22 saves.

Edge School (6) vs STAR Hockey Academy (0) U15 Prep

There are countless factors at play when analyzing how a hockey game unfolds, but momentum and lead changes are among the biggest. STAR Hockey Academy played an excellent first period against Edge School in their U15 Prep matchup on Saturday, and by the time the game headed into the second period, it still looked like anyone could win. 32 seconds into the middle frame, though, Dylan Sherban (1G, 1A) scored the first goal of the game to give Edge a 1-0 lead. The lead change shifted the momentum, and now chasing the game, the stronghold STAR had at limiting high-danger scoring chances broke. Two more in the second period for Edge preceded Remy Koch (2G, 1A) scoring two in the third to help his team to a 6-0 thumping of their American opponents.聽

Bourget College (4) vs Fort Erie International Academy (2) East U18

It鈥檚 really, really hard to respond when you had and subsequently relinquished a lead in a hockey game. That makes Bourget College鈥檚 win over the Fort Erie International Academy as impressive as it is; after relinquishing the lead, they had a world of momentum against them. Victor Morrisette-Richer and Eliott Gu茅vin scored in the first period for Bourget, but Fort Erie responded through Brett Krtanjek in the second. 1:05 into the third, they鈥檇 tie the game shorthanded through Max Schippers, and after successive penalty kills to open the period, it looked like Fort Erie鈥檚 time to strike. Samy Taher and Bourget had other ideas, and after Taher scored to give Bourget the lead back, Rory Vered stood tall in between the pipes, and Mathys Morrissette scored late to earn Bourget the 4-2 triumph.聽

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) vs Notre Dame (3) U15

The Notre Dame Hounds have a team in both the U15 and U15 Prep divisions of the CSSHL, and both were in action Saturday afternoon, starting with their U15 squad鈥檚 matchup against RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg. Notre Dame鈥檚 offence showed up in a big way during the first of the two teams鈥 three-game series on Friday but was ultimately outdone by three RHA Winnipeg goals in the third period. A Notre Dame win, clearly, meant they鈥檇 need to improve in their own zone. Well, either they鈥檇 need to improve, or they鈥檇 need Soren Martin to have their backs in a big way. Both happened on Saturday for Notre Dame, as after the first period, the Hounds escaped in a scoreless tie despite being heavily outshot. RHA Winnipeg remained in control, but even after they鈥檇 taken a 1-0 lead, Notre Dame turned the game around. William Clarke (2G) tied the game in the second period before Notre Dame got two powerplay goals, the second through Clarke again, to take a 3-1 lead in the third period. RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 third-period barrage provided Josh Harvey with a goal, pulling the contest back within one late, but couldn鈥檛 do anything more. Martin made 14 stops in the third and ultimately 40 on 42 shots in the game to help his team to their second win in their last three games.

Notre Dame (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep

Notre Dame鈥檚 U15 Prep team watched on as the organization鈥檚 U15 squad bumped what was a significant losing skid last week, turning it into two wins in three games. For the U15 Prep Hounds, they鈥檇 dropped 12 consecutive games, last beating RHA Winnipeg in January. They gave Yale some sweats yesterday, and looking to do the same against OHA today, the start was perfect. An early penalty to Roman Haddad gave Notre Dame a chance on the man advantage, capitalized upon by Matthew Boekelder to make it 1-0 Hounds. OHA turned the tide in the second, controlling the flow and throwing 17 shots on goal, all of which were stopped by Notre Dame鈥檚 Hudson Pooler. Mika Richard scored less than two minutes into the third period for Notre Dame to extend the lead further, and with the two-goal cushion, Notre Dame protected the lead well. OHA did manage to put one behind Pooler, but Talon Scinocca鈥檚 goal was ultimately all his team would muster, and the Hounds U15 Prep squad snapped the losing streak with their first victory of the month.

Shawnigan Lake School (5) vs OHA Edmonton (6) Female U18 Prep

The OHA Edmonton power play was firing on all cylinders to start the game as Kyla Pappas (1G, 1A) opened the scoring on the man advantage 6:19 in and Peyton Carter (2G) added two special teams goals of her own to increase the lead to 3-0 inside the opening 15 minutes of play. Leah Hill (2G, 1A) would get Shawnigan on the board 48 seconds later with the first even strength marker of the game. Izzy Gollop extended the lead early in the second but Shawnigan wouldn鈥檛 go away quietly as Hill and Macy Thomson scored 1:06 apart. Riley Cooper (1G, 2A) and Jordyn Hempel countered for OHA Edmonton as they restored the three goal cushion heading into the third period. In the third Eden Hamel (1G, 2A) hit double digit goals early in the third to bring Shawnigan within two. They would continue to push as Grace Cooper found the back of the net but with just 22 seconds left as OHA Edmonton would hang on for the 6-5 win. Ava Antle (24/29) and Aidyn Carkner (27/33) were in net for their respective teams.聽

Bourget College Varsity (3) vs Balmoral Hall School (4/SO) Female U18 Prep

Bourget College Varsity鈥檚 start to the weekend was a two-game Friday, which Bourget split, before their battle with Balmoral Hall School on Saturday. Balmoral dropped their game against OHA yesterday, and things looked to be getting worse early against Bourget, as they surrendered the first and only goal of the first period from Nela Tischlerova. The high-scoring Maddie Kaiser managed to tie the game up, but Bourget scored again before the second period was over, with Madison Levesque making it 2-1. Julianna DeGroot managed to muster a response early in the third period, tying the game up, and sending it into the back half of the third all square. Balmoral鈥檚 Madeline McKay hadn鈥檛 failed to register a point in ten straight games heading into her game against OHA on Friday, but couldn鈥檛 extend that further. She picked the perfect time to get back on the scoreboard though, giving Balmoral their first lead of the game. Bourget lasted less than 90 seconds in the deficit, however, as Brooke Dalterio would send the game to overtime with a quick response. Reika Iwami and Kayla Lombardo traded goals in the shootout, and after a pair of misses, Maddie Kaiser gave Balmoral the lead. The heroics, ultimately, came from Mimi Ferreira, who denied Ann-Sophie Beaumont to win the game in a shootout for Balmoral.聽

Shawnigan Lake School (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Cruz Waltze鈥檚 first hat-trick of the season powered Delta Hockey Academy to a 5-2 win over Shawnigan Lake School. Waltze (3G) wasted no time getting on the board, capitalizing on a Shawnigan Lake turnover 35 seconds into the game. Delta stretched their lead out to three in the second with Waltze and Milan Mrsic (1G, 1A) finding the back of the net in quick succession. Shawnigan Lake was able to make it a two-goal game two separate times with goals from Koen Gauthier and Easton Sangris. The first time it was Nate Barclay who replied for Delta. Then in the third, Waltze potted his 20th goal of the season to turn the trick.聽

Prairie Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U17 Prep

Nicole Flesher (30/31) was strong for Delta Black, turning aside 30 of 31 shots. Aldawana Evers (25/29) made 25 saves in the Xtreme鈥檚 loss.聽

Shortly after, Noah Fowler would cram home a rebound to tie things up. Fayad would score one of his own just over a minute later to put NAX back in front. Once again St. George鈥檚 would tie things up, this time off the blade of Holden Wouters (1G, 1A). RHA Kelowna seemed to be on their way to the fourth straight loss to OHA but then Maddox Gandha (1G, 1A) scored the game-tying goal in the final three minutes. Overtime solved nothing so the game headed to a shootout. RHA Kelowna鈥檚 netminder Conner Nicholson (36/40) denied both OHA shooters in the skills competition. Dylan Cawley and Benjamin Bowtell scored in the shootout to give RHA Kelowna to even up the season series with OHA. Nicholson picked up his first win of the month, making 36 saves for RHA Kelowna.聽

Kuper鈥檚 Dimitri Tsimberis and Malkin Pierre bulged the twine in the opening period. Michael Paliotti (2G, 1A) scored twice in the first 3:55 of the second to give Kuper the lead. Rusenstrom and Dake each set each other up for a goal for Bishop鈥檚 College to reduce the deficit to one. A power play by Kuper鈥檚 Thomas Brereton (1G, 1A) was sandwiched in between to ensure they went into the dressing room with a 5-4 lead. There was a flurry of goals in the first 4:09 of the third, Amir Makdad (1G, 2A) and Kareem Baig-Mirza (1G, 2A) extended their lead to three but Brandon Fuicelli replied for Bishop鈥檚 College a few minutes later. Kuper鈥檚 Luca De Pastena and Bishop鈥檚 College Henry Bassuk added one more for their respective team to finish off the high-scoring game.聽

CIH Academy (3) vs King Heights Academy (8) East U18

Zakhar Puzriakov (4G, 3A), Vytas Lenkutis (2G, 5A), Semen Nizhnikov (2G, 5A) combined for all eight goals in King Heights Academy鈥檚 8-3 win over CIH Academy. King Heights took command of the game in the first two periods with Puzriakov and Lenkutis each scoring a pair of goals to give them a 4-0 lead. The two squads combined for a seven-goal outburst in the third. Samuel Kitty Jr (1G, 2A), Taige Soneji, and Yoshin Takahara bulged the twine for CIH Academy. The King Heights trio wouldn鈥檛 give CIH Academy any chance to make a comeback. Puzriakov scored two more to finish off his four-goal game. Niznikov capped off the offensive game with two goals of his own.聽

OHA Edmonton (2/OT) vs Delta Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep

Gavin Steeves (41/42) 41-save performance lifted OHA Edmonton to a 2-1 overtime victory over Delta Hockey Academy. Tripp Fischer scored to give Delta their only lead of the game just over five minutes into the game. After that, the two teams were locked in a heated goalie duel with OHA Edmonton鈥檚 Steeves and Delta鈥檚 Jack Utsunomiya (34/36) going save-for-save. That was until early in the third when OHA Edmonton鈥檚 Damian Anderson bulged the twine for the first time in nearly 40 minutes, tying the game 1-1. OHA Edmonton got into penalty trouble, taking a double-minor shortly after their goal and a slashing minor that would carry over into overtime. OHA Edmonton was able to kill off all three Delta power plays. After those big kills, Brayden Tucker would be the hero for OHA Edmonton, scoring the winner 1:31 into the extra frame.聽

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) U17

Okanagan Hockey Academy got the better of RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna in a goalie duel that finished 2-1. OHA took advantage of a too many players call on RHA Kelowna early in the game. North Shore Warriors (1) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U15 Prep

Lukas Wolff von Gudenberg scored in his second straight U15 Prep showcase game to give North Shore a 1-0 lead in the second, despite Shawnigan Lake holding a large territorial edge. Shawnigan Lake peppered North Shore鈥檚 goalie Elias Mitrikas (46/48) sending 23 shots his way in the middle frame. The North Shore netminder would succumb to the pressure with Chase Murgatroyd and Todd scoring to give Shawnigan Lake a one-goal advantage. Shawnigan Lake continued to control the game in third, outshooting North Shore 16-5. Mitrikas turned aside every shot sent his way including a penalty shot but that wouldn鈥檛 be enough. North Shore was unable to find an equalizer and Mitrikas鈥 46 save performance went by the wayside. Berkeley Walter (12/13) recorded his third win of the season for Shawnigan Lake, stopping 12 of the 13 shots that he faced.聽

Notre Dame (3/OT) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U17

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (0)聽 vs Yale Hockey Academy (10) U15 Prep

Nine separate skaters lit the lamp for Yale in their 10-0 win over Coeur d鈥橝lene. Nicholas Voinea (1G, 3A) and Tyson Wolanski (1G, 3A) each stacked four points a piece on the scoresheet while Santino Iriberri (2G, 1A) was the only skater with multiple goals. Eight other skaters would post multi-point efforts while Mason Sutherland (11/11) and Gavin Craig (9/9) split the shutout, making a combined 20 stops.

STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U15

After pummelling their opposition in shots 20-4, OHA would finally find themselves on the board after Marcus Lloyd (2G) scored with under two minutes to go in the opening frame. OHA would continue to apply the immense pressure in the second, garnering another tally, courtesy of Jace Williams (1G, 2A) to double their lead. STAR would show some pushback in the third after ET Kennedy (1G, 1A) struck early in the frame. However, Lloyd would restore OHA鈥檚 two goal lead under a minute later. Mason Leibel (1G, 1A) would add another a few minutes later, putting the ribbon on an eventual 4-2 win over STAR.

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (2)聽 vs North Shore Warriors (3) U17

Following a scoreless first, Noah Russo (2G, 1A) would give North Shore the initial lead. CDA would answer back shortly courtesy of Michael Veneziano (2G). Veneziano would end up scoring once before the end of the frame, capitalising on the man advantage with just over a minute left of playing time. In the third, Russo would strike for his second of the evening early, tying things up for North Shore. The Warriors would go on to kill a five-minute penalty later in the frame before Ryan Frick (1G, 1A) netted the eventual game winner with 2:36 left on the clock. Erik Blair (42/44) stood on his head between the pipes for the Warriors, steering aside 42-shots, including all 12 in the third.聽

Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Both teams struck on the power play in the first period as Sal Costa scored for CDA and Luke Assi (2G, 2A) countered for OHA. Assi gave OHA their first lead 6:21 into the second before Maxx Parfitt (1G, 1A) and Kolton Denich (1G, 1A) added power play goals 1:02 apart late in the period. Akira Ota (2G, 1A) replied for CDA 36 seconds later but Landon Nagle (2G, 1A) responded for OhA 30 seconds after that as the final 2:25 of the period saw four total goals. In the third, both teams’ power plays continued to click as Nagle and David Aggen (1G, 3A) scored on the man advantage for OHA while Ota did the same for CDA as the game ended 7-3 in favour of the visitors. Chase Andriuk (19/22) and Alex Doyer (44/51) were in net for their respective teams.聽

North Shore Warriors (4) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5/SO) U18 Prep

Milan Mrsic (2G) opened the scoring 12:48 into the game with the lone first period goal. Jacon Schwartz doubled the Delta lead 17 seconds into the second and Mrsic added his second of the game midway through the frame. North Shore would need just 5:01 to erase the deficit as Jan Lucan, Matteo Paradiso (1G, 2A) and Mark Lee all found the back of the net late in the middle frame. Nicholas Campbell restored the Delta lead 7:48 into the third but Liam McCloy scored his sixth of the season to tie the game and force overtime. After OT solved nothing, Schwartz scored the lone shootout goal with a Forsberg and Ashton Thornton (38/42) stopped all three North Shore shooters to give Delta the 5-4 win.聽

Edge School (7) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) U15

Kelson Hawreluik opened the scoring 4:07 in as the home side grabbed an early lead. But Edge would respond with seven unanswered as they outshot RHA Winnipeg 75-18 in a 7-1 win. Cade Mazurski (2G, 1A) tied the game 7:26 later and Easton Armstrong scored the eventual game winner with 2:50 left in the first. Mazurski, Luke Tschetter (1G, 1A) and Brody Antignani (1G, 3A) added second period goals with Matteo Dufour and Beckham Monette scoring in the third. Hudson Andrews (17/18) made 17 saves in the win while Haize Brightnose (68/75) was charged with the loss.聽

Ontario Hockey Academy (2) vs Fort Erie International Academy (4) East U17

Jayden Goolab鈥檚 goal a mere 55 seconds into the hockey game for Fort Erie International Academy continued to compound the struggles of Ontario Hockey Academy this season, with OHA still in search of their first win in February. Zachary Brochey scored short hereafter to extend the lead to two, and while OHA spent the rest of the game doing their best to push back, they couldn鈥檛 do more than cut the Fort Erie lead in half. Isaac Gagn茅 (1G, 1A) and Thomas Harvey (1G, 1A) helped Fort Erie extend their lead and Demitry Gikas made 28 saves on 30 shots for what ultimately ended up as a 4-2 win for his club.聽

Prairie Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U18 Prep

Northern Alberta Xtreme has been the best of the U18 Prep for nearly the entire season, so when Prairie Hockey Academy took the lead, it looked like an upset might be in the cards, with Hubert Larose (1G, 1A) scoring to make it 1-0. PHA鈥檚 lead lasted merely 70 seconds, and once Carter Ellsworth scored to bring NAX back to level terms, Darius Hordal and Gavin Harrison would score in the second and third periods respectively. Tyler Swanson鈥檚 22 saves led NAX to the 3-2 win, defeating PHA for the second time this weekend, having prevailed 8-1 on Friday night.聽

Prairie Hockey Academy (1) vs Edge School (4) U17

The third of Prairie Hockey Academy and Edge School鈥檚 three-game weekend series on Sunday saw both teams coming in having traded victories over one another on Friday and Saturday nights. PHA鈥檚 trip to Calgary started with a 6-2 loss prior to beating Edge 4-1 on Saturday, while Edge remained keen on staying ahead of a PHA team that they can see in their rearview mirror in the CSSHL U17 standings. The first period saw Sam Mclean and Reid Kawaguchi score for Edge and PHA respectively, sending the game tied into the second period before Darius Odermatt scored twice for Edge in the second. Odermatt鈥檚 thirtieth and thirty-first goals respectively established a lead too wide for PHA to recover from, and an empty-net goal at the end of the third period helped Edge to the 4-1 win.

Edge School (6) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep

Edge School鈥檚 trip to play the South Alberta Hockey Academy started poorly, with SAHA doing serious damage throughout a dominant 8-2 win on Saturday. The score through two periods was 5-2 on Saturday, with SAHA scoring three in the third, and Sunday鈥檚 game looked to be on a similar path. Owen Fisher scored twice in the first for SAHA, and with Carson Ward鈥檚 second-period powerplay goal extending his team鈥檚 lead to 5-2, SAHA looked well on their way to a similar victory to the one they鈥檇 earned yesterday. On Sunday, though, Edge School鈥檚 third period dragged them back into the fight. Izayah Zharko scored his second of the game early to make it 5-3 before Antonio Cazac (1G, 2A) scored with 4:42 on the clock in the third to pull his team back within one. Zharko completed his hat-trick and tied the game with 2:30 left in the third, assisted by Cazac, who would himself go on to win the game with the only goal of the shootout.聽

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy got huge games out of Aleksandr Skuratov (2G) and Bennett Byers (41/43) to lead them to a 5-2 win over Okanagan Hockey Academy, helping their team grab their first victory of February. Two goals in less than one first-period minute from Gavin Smith and Michael Khudyakov sent CDA on their way, never surrendering the lead, winning 5-2. While Byers鈥 heroics deserve a tremendous amount of credit for CDA鈥檚 perfect penalty kill, the personnel going 6/6 in preventing a goal against while shorthanded was a huge boost in achieving the win.聽

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy鈥檚 first 26:00 of Sunday鈥檚 game against the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy, specifically their domination of it, was a direct contradiction of the rest of the battle. STAR鈥檚 12-7 margin in shots on goal after one and 2-0 lead at the start of the second would have led any impartial viewer to believe they were in complete control of the game. Maximus Scheffer (2G) scored first for PCHA, cutting the deficit in half before consecutive powerplays for PCHA at the end of the second proved costly for STAR. Trent Porter and Mazen Green both scored powerplay goals to turn the game in favour of PCHA and while Daniel Makovetskiy (2G) was able to score nine seconds into the third period to tie the score at three, PCHA had the entire period to re-take the lead. Scheffer scored his second near the halfway point, and PCHA held STAR to merely six third-period shots, which PCHA goaltender Rio Manhas was able to subdue, helping his team to the 4-3 win.

St. George’s School (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep

St. George鈥檚 game against the Okanagan Hockey Academy on Sunday saw OHA goaltender Maddox Slater spend the first 14 minutes imitating a brick wall to keep the game scoreless. Eventually, though, Noah Fowler (1G, 1A) broke through, giving his team a 1-0 lead, doubled before the intermission by Adam Benn (1G, 2A). Slater kept making saves but surrendered a total of 55 shots by the time the 60 minutes had concluded, with St. George鈥檚 able to score twice per period, ending with a 6-1 win.聽

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs St. George’s School (1) U18 Prep

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy鈥檚 first game against St. George鈥檚 School this weekend would be one to forget, especially once Harshaan Kaila completed his hat-trick for St. George鈥檚 in the third of Saturday鈥檚 7-2 win over PCHA. The start of Sunday鈥檚 game picked up where Saturday鈥檚 had left off, with Kaila scoring the first of the game to give St. George鈥檚 the edge. Drew Stinka (2G) scored late in the first to send the game into the second period tied, and in the second, PCHA took and secured the game鈥檚 lead. Alex Wang and Jed Lake made it 4-1, where thanks in part to PCHA goaltender Sam Saskiw standing tall throughout the third, Pacific Coast held on for the victory.

Yale Hockey Academy (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy and Delta Hockey Academy鈥檚 U15 Prep teams have had similar records all season long, with their last head-to-head meeting making the closeness in quality between the two squads obvious. Yale won 3-2 despite the Delta edge in shots, and since then, the two teams have never been far from one another in the CSSHL U15 rankings. YHA goaltender Gavin Craig stood strong for most of the first period, but Delta finally broke through, with first Casey Pearson (1G, 1A) followed by Tripp Fischer (2G) in the last two and a half minutes of the first period. An evenly-matched if scoreless second period came and went, with Delta鈥檚 two goals all that remained on the board until the third, thanks in part to Jack Utsunomiya in the DHA crease, who stopped all 11 second-period shots he faced. Early in the third, Fischer scored his second of the game to make it 3-0 Delta, with Nicholas Voinea鈥檚 following goal merely a consolation for Yale. That would be as close as Yale would come, who eventually saw their chances at a comeback killed off by Ethan Kitchen鈥檚 late goal, sealing the 4-1 win for Delta Hockey Academy.聽

OHA Edmonton (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) U17

OHA Edmonton鈥檚 three-game weekend series with the RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg saw the first two games split, with OHA Edmonton prevailing 5-3 on day one, and RHA Winnipeg responding with a 4-1 win on Saturday night. That game鈥檚 five-goal total was matched by the two teams within 12:11 of the first period on Sunday, with OHA Edmonton going behind twice before surging into a 3-2 lead. RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 Saturday night win came largely thanks to an Atley Feniuk hat-trick, and Feniuk (3G) went to work again on the powerplay Sunday, tying the game early in the second. OHA Edmonton鈥檚 Hudson Blair (2G) and Osten Strickland found a response later, giving their team a two-goal lead heading into the break this time, but RHA Winnipeg found a similar response to the one they鈥檇 mustered when they went down by one heading into the second. Feniuk scored his second of the game early in the third to pull his team to within one before Oliver Campbell notched just his third goal of the season to tie things at five. Feniuk, already having scored in the third, would add a powerplay goal with 5:13 to go to give RHA Winnipeg a come-from-behind 6-5 lead and complete his second hat trick in as many games. Feniuk鈥檚 six goals over the final two games of the weekend series against OHA Edmonton helped RHA Winnipeg to back-to-back wins, taking Sunday鈥檚 contest 6-5.

BWC Academy (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) U15 Prep

Burnaby Winter Club Academy鈥檚 U15 team needed to get a result out of Sunday鈥檚 game against RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna if they wanted their Okanagan trip to produce a win. The task at hand no doubt received an increased level of pressure given the upset loss at the hands of the Okanagan Hockey Academy on Saturday night. The heroics for BWC off the hop came from an incredibly unlikely source, with defenceman Miller Watkins (2G, 1A), formerly a part of the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna, scoring his second and third goals of the season within seven first-period minutes. Watkins had one goal in the previous 28 games he鈥檇 played this season, with his two in the first today providing BWC with an adequate jumping-off point. Cohen Baker (2G) extended BWC鈥檚 lead to 3-0 late in the first, and although RHA Kelowna scored twice in the second period, Logan Henry (2G, 1A) would ultimately put the game out of RHA Kelowna鈥檚 reach with two second-period goals of his own. BWC鈥檚 win gave them an important bounceback and gave them some indication that Miller Watkins might be a secret offensive weapon.聽

Notre Dame (4) vs OHA Edmonton (10) U17 Prep

OHA Edmonton鈥檚 Sunday game was an offensive clinic from the outset, which was to be expected, given Edmonton鈥檚 14 goals in Saturday鈥檚 battle with the same Notre Dame Hounds team they鈥檇 face again. Michael Kaplan (1G, 1A) scored early and OHA Edmonton didn鈥檛 look back from there. They鈥檇 end up with 26 shots after a first period that saw them lead 3-1, before Jaggar John (1G, 3A), Cash Brebant (1G, 2A), and Logan Miller (2G, 1A) would all score on the Notre Dame net in the second period. Kai Richards (2G, 1A) scored in the third, and while Notre Dame didn鈥檛 stop fighting, OHA Edmonton ultimately cruised to a 10-4 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U17 Prep

Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 4-0 loss at the hands of the RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg on Saturday night was one they鈥檇 be incredibly eager to avenge on Sunday, especially given the fact that the loss was NAX鈥檚 second consecutive defeat, both losses at the hands of opponents who are below NAX in the standings. Two first-period points from Bordy Dawson (1G, 3A), including opening the game鈥檚 scoring on the powerplay, led NAX out of the first period with a 2-0 lead. Bronsyn Mouille (1G, 1A) and Braeden Malenchak (2G) both scored on the man advantage in the second and third periods respectively and although NAX remained in control for the majority of the game, Matthew Coyle was still tested 22 times by the RHA Winnipeg attack. He made every save necessary to earn his team the win, and notably, earn himself his second shutout in five starts.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (12) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep

Any doubts or deliberation about the victor of Sunday鈥檚 game between the RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy wouldn鈥檛 have remained by the time the game reached its first intermission. RHA Winnipeg scored eight goals on 24 first-period shots, including one a mere eight seconds into their only powerplay. They鈥檇 add four more over the last two periods, with Cohen Lewko (2G, 3A), Carter Haney (2G, 1A), and Jake Ritson (1G, 3A) leading the way for an RHA Winnipeg team that ultimately hit the PMHA net with 76 shots in the hockey game en route to the 12-0 win.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (2) Female U18 Prep

The Delta Hockey Academy Black team may have only lost 2-1 to the Okanagan Hockey Academy Black team in their Saturday night meeting, but losing the game by one goal is a statistic that鈥檚 almost flattering to Delta Black, given the fact they were outshot 43-14 in the hockey game. Looking for a response on Sunday, Emma Biros (2G 1A) took charge for Delta Black, giving them a 1-0 lead 3:11 into the game. Mira Morgan and Abigail Jung (1G, 1A) scored in the second to extend the Delta Back lead beyond what OHA Black would be able to come back from, and despite a hard push, Delta Black ultimately sealed off a 5-2 win with Biros scoring her second of the game in the third to help her team to the bounce-back win.

BWC Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) U17

There are plenty of games in which the first goal is crucial; whether it鈥檚 obvious in the moment or in retrospect, the first goal can set momentum early and help one team establish a path to victory. The key word there is 鈥渃an,鈥 because as Burnaby Winter Club Academy and Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna鈥檚 game can attest, the opposite can easily be true. On Sunday, BWC鈥檚 Leonardo Lee scored first, giving his team the lead on the road. That immediately preceded seven consecutive RHA Kelowna goals between the 8:01 mark of the first period and the end of the second, with RHA Kelowna getting big offensive contributions from Mason Alexander (1G, 3A), Griffin Hoy (1G, 2A), and Maximilian Koppel (2G) among others. Kijin Cho would score in the third to add to his first-period assist, but the offensive push from BWC in the third period always felt futile given the deficit, and RHA Kelowna cruised to the 7-2 win.

Notre Dame (1) vs OHA Edmonton (11) U18 Prep

OHA Edmonton closed out their weekend with an offensive onslaught over Notre Dame. Defenceman Paulo Borrelli (3G, 2A) and Parker Fitzgerald (3G, 2A) each secured a hat-trick and five points each in the landslide victory while Josh McKague (2G, 2A), Braydon Franks (1G, 3A) and Calum Giese (1G, 3A) each produced four point outings. Micah Pimm scored the lone goal for Notre Dame.

Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs Notre Dame (2) U15

Following a scoreless first period, Notre Dame would burst on to the scene with four unanswered goals to build their most substantial lead of the season. Jax Baumuller (2G) would net two in succession including a highlight reel marker off of a slick toe drag at the blueline. Deklan Street would get one back for Prairie early in the third, but was immediately answered by the Hound鈥檚 Maddex Floberg (1G, 1A). Jakub Palmer would get another one for Prairie late in the frame, but Drew Patterson would score the backbreaker shortly after, helping Notre Dame鈥檚 U15 squad capture their first win of the regular season. Soren Martin (40/42) played a vital role in the Hound鈥檚 victory, steering aside 40-shots through sixty.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) U15

OHA鈥檚 Sunday victory was highlighted by a hat-trick performance from Owen Magness (3G), scoring three of OHA鈥檚 four opening goals. Mason Leibel would continue OHA鈥檚 scoring trend in the third, putting away a pretty one on the breakaway. Hayden Carpenter would get RHA Kelowna on the scoresheet soon after, hopefully sparking some life for his team. However, OHA would continue piling on the pressure, outshooting RHA Kelowna 23-8 in the final frame. Grayson Holmes (1G, 2A) would spot Jett Wood for a powerplay goal that would serve as one of the final nails in the coffin for RHA Kelowna. Ethan Watson (21/23) would make 21-saves in the win, while Griffin Prairie Chicken (55/62) gave his all in goal for RHA Kelowna, making 55-saves in the loss.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (7) vs Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (0) U17

The offence was evenly spread around in PCHA鈥檚 7-0 win over CDA as only three skaters failed to register a point. Owen Bate鈥檚 (1G, 1A) opening snipe would go on to serve as the game winner while four other skaters supplied multi-point efforts. Logan MacLean (17/17) made work easy in goal, stopping 17-shots for his second shutout of the campaign.

OHA Edmonton (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U15

Jett Evans (3G, 1A) would garner NAX鈥檚 two opening goals in a Sunday showdown with their city rivals. OHA Edmonton would come swinging back in the second with two powerplay goals off the sticks of Lane Huscroft and Marek Pashko. Later in the frame, NAX would find their offensive touch once again with Gavin Van Brabant (1G, 1A) and Evans restoring the two goal lead. Matteo Gambetti would bring OHA Edmonton back to within one early in the third, but NAX would close off the contest with three unanswered goals to seal up their weekend.聽聽

BWC Academy (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

No love was lost between the two Lower Mainland rivals in a Sunday tilt in Abbotsford, BC. Ryker Swanson gave Yale the initial lead halfway through the opening frame but Jonathan Bitonti was right there with a quick response to tie things up. In the second, Yale would find their footing as Bodie Jerome and (1G, 1A) and Shaun Hildebrandt (1G, 1A) connected for a pair of goals. Yale wouldn鈥檛 let up in the third, fending off BWC Academy for the 4-1 win. Nathan Kam (30/31) picked up the win between the pipes, making 30-saves in the process.

OHA Edmonton (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U15 Prep

OHA Edmonton hit the ground running early Saturday morning, and while RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg made things close, OHA Edmonton kept things in control to see out the victory. Five different goal scorers within the first 26 minutes of the hockey game saw OHA Edmonton jump out to a 5-0 lead, with Josh Frazer鈥檚 three points (1G, 2A) leading the way. It would have been easy for RHA Winnipeg to give up at that point in the game, but Brad Purdie鈥檚 team gave OHA Edmonton everything they could handle. Two points each from Athens Shingoose (1G, 1A) and Cohen Hlady (1G, 1A) helped RHA Winnipeg back in the game, cutting the lead to two goals, but the late push ran into OHA Edmonton鈥檚 Owen Amyotte, who made 9 saves on 10 third-period shots.聽

STAR Hockey Academy (6) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U17 Prep

If you were late tuning into STAR Hockey Academy and Shawnigan Lake School鈥檚 first period, you鈥檇 have missed a wild first five minutes. Shawnigan notched the game鈥檚 first goal through Terran Johal just 74 seconds in, a lead that was significantly shorter-lived than Johal鈥檚 squad would have preferred. After quickly earning a man advantage, STAR HA took barely two minutes after going down to tie the game up, with an Adrian Afrakov powerplay goal dragging things back to 1-1. Anderson Carter would score the go-ahead goal for STAR later in the opening frame, giving his team a 2-1 lead after a first period in which the shots ended in a 12-12 tie. STAR controlled the game鈥檚 final two periods, outshooting Shawnigan by a 23-11 margin over the final forty minutes. Max Carpenter, Typer Gillespie, Max White, and Jaxson Trichak would score for STAR, with Anderson Carter鈥檚 three points (1G, 2A) the standout for STAR.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Prairie Hockey Academy last faced the Calgary International Hockey Academy in their season opener, a heartbreaking 6-5 loss on September 14. Both teams did not see one another again until today, and while memories of PHA鈥檚 loss would by now be long faded, you wouldn鈥檛 have known it based on the way they started the game, immediately peppering Braxton Gibson with what turned out to be 21 first period shots. Despite PHA鈥檚 control, CIHA did well in the first period to soak up the pressure and push back, earning the game鈥檚 first goal off the stick of Mason Moran. Kade Kahovec responded with his first of two goals on the day to send the game into the break tied. An early shorthanded goal from PHA鈥檚 Dane Chalupa launched his team鈥檚 second period, and with the momentum gained from scoring on the penalty kill, PHA truly never looked back. Bryden Wagner scored before Kahovec grabbed his second, sending the game into the third period with PHA ahead 4-1. Lucas Graham, Soren Hayden, and Ethan Unger would all score for PHA in the third, and Drake Mooney shut the door, making 30 stops on 31 CIHA attempts to help his side to a 7-1 victory.

North Shore Warriors (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Colton Brum wasted absolutely no time in starting the Saturday morning party for his Delta Hockey Academy Black team, with Brum鈥檚 goal coming a mere 58 seconds into the battle with the North Shore Warriors. North Shore鈥檚 Elias Mitrikas did everything he could in between the pipes for his side, but Delta Black suffocated anything North Shore could muster, throwing everything they had at Mitrikas鈥 net. Ethan Kitchen would pop up with a pair of goals, and after a first period that saw them outshoot their opponent by an 18-2 margin, Delta Black led 3-0 after one. The second marginally improved for North Shore, but Jayden Ni scored the only goal of the period for Delta Black to send them into the final twenty minutes ahead by four. North Shore remained determined, which came out in their third-period play, with the Warriors earning a game-high 11 shots in the period, and Riley Taylor scoring the only goal. Despite not popping up with a goal, Charlie Leonard (3A) and Brady Cyr (2A) led the way with a combined five points for Delta Black.

CIH Academy (2) vs Ulysse Academie East (4) U18聽

Ulysse Academie鈥檚 perfect February was in jeopardy on Saturday with the arrival of the Canadian International Hockey Academy, a side that had pushed Ulysse to the brink when the two teams met back on January 22, a game which ended 4-3 in overtime for Ulysse. Noah Martin made a season-high 60 saves in that game, and while one-upping that performance should seemingly have been impossible, Martin looked like he may just do so after the first period. Ulysse outshot CIH Academy 24-4 in the first period but didn鈥檛 get the puck behind Martin until a powerplay opportunity early in the second, as Ezekiel Lambert fired home through traffic from the top of the slot to open the scoring. Ulysse earned just one goal through the first half of the game but scored twice in the span of just 39 seconds past the halfway point of the second, with Cedrick Fortin鈥檚 2-0 goal quickly followed by one from Alexis Boyer to put his team up by three. It didn’t take long for a response from CIH, as Nikita Marinin grabbed one back, and it looked like they could really make their opponents nervous. Quinton Kakabat scored early in the third to make it 3-2, but that was as close as CIH could get, with Leonidas Barkoulas standing tall in between the pipes for Ulysse, and Arnaud Roberge sealing the victory with 54 seconds left in the third.聽

Notre Dame (1) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep

The Notre Dame Hounds U15 Prep team has had a challenging season, and after their first period against Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, Saturday鈥檚 game didn鈥檛 seem like it would ultimately belong to Notre Dame. Brock Vodden scored the only goal of a first period controlled by Pilot Mound, but the first intermission seemed to flip the script. The Hounds responded by playing a completely dominant second period, and after outshooting their opponents 23-5 in the middle frame, Pilot Mound goaltender Gavin Hildebrand remained the only thing in the way of Notre Dame at least finding their way back to 1-1. It was clear another twenty minutes of offensive chance generation for Notre Dame wasn鈥檛 going to be something Pilot Mound was likely to survive, but they earned a late second-period powerplay thanks to a bench minor from the Hounds. The man advantage carried into the third, and just 39 seconds into the final frame, Fynn Huberdeau made it 2-0 Pilot Mound. Kashton Masney beat Hildebrand with just over 11 minutes to play, but Kai Dingwall鈥檚 empty-net goal sealed things for Pilot Mound, with the 3-1 win coming thanks to 50 stops from a heroic Hildebrand.

Edge School (11) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

Second Place in the CSSHL U18 Prep standings is still very much within the grasp of an Edge School squad that came into Saturday鈥檚 battle with Pilot Mound Hockey Academy as the heavy favourites. However, a disastrous 46 seconds in the first period threatened to derail Edge鈥檚 pursuit of victory, with quick goals from William L鈥橦eureux and William Picklyk giving Pilot Mound a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game. You鈥檇 be hard-pressed to find a better line in U18 hockey than the top line for Edge, and it was indeed Edge鈥檚 first line that responded quickly, with Adam M鈥檋amed鈥檚 excellent season continuing less than thirty seconds after going down by two, thanks to assists from Brock England and Mirco Dufour. The equalizer came from Reed Reschny, tying things up at two just shy of the halfway point of the first, before M鈥檋amed, England, and Dufour took over once more. Dufour finished off the first period with a pair of goals, with two assists each from England and M鈥檋amed simply a precursor for Dufour finishing his natural hat-trick early in the second, with his goal once more assisted by M鈥檋amed and England. Reschny quickly popped up with his second of the game to extend the lead, and by then, Pilot Mound鈥檚 2-0 lead seemed a very distant memory. Adam M鈥橦and scored his second, Nick Wytrychowski scored, and Keegan De Sa scored two to send Edge into the third period with a 10-2 lead. Briggs Olson scored for Pilot Mound just 41 seconds into the final frame, a goal that stood as the only one of the third until the final minute. Seattle Thunderbirds first-round pick Brock England scored late, extending his personal point streak to six games, and capping off Edge School鈥檚 11-3 victory. England finished the game with five points (1G, 4A), with his linemates Adam M鈥檋amed (2G, 4A), and Mirco Dufour (3G, 1A), combining with England to form a line which earned 15 points in the game.聽

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna vs Yale Hockey Academy U15

There鈥檚 only so much a goaltender can do, as Lucas Kautz would likely be reminding the rest of his RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna side after their game against Yale Hockey Academy. Kautz made 21 saves on 22 shots in the first period alone, and RHA Kelowna did reward their goaltender with the game鈥檚 first goal, coming from Dexter Labrecque. Ben Bury equalized, sending the game into the break knotted up at 1, despite the 22-6 edge in shots on goal for Yale. The pressure Yale applied to the brick wall in net for RHA Kelowna was eventually too much to bear, and after Ryker Stevens made it 2-1 early in the second, it seemed the floodgates were opened following that. Hunter Stewart, Chase Phillips and a pair each from Kaleb Newson and Max Ritchey capped off the dominant win for Yale, outshooting their opponents 63-19 and winning 8-1.

North Shore Warriors (6) vs Notre Dame (4) U15

If you asked somebody for the definition of a seesaw hockey game, the description they give would likely resemble Saturday鈥檚 matchup between North Shore Warriors and Notre Dame Hounds. Notre Dame controlled the game鈥檚 first period, outshooting North Shore 14-5, but failing to beat Benjamin Boudreau. Nicholas Sheldon scored late in the first to, against the run of play, give North Shore the lead. Cohen Waite scored twice in the early stages of the second period to extend the Warriors鈥 lead to 3-0, a spot they鈥檇 have been thrilled with given the game鈥檚 flow. Later in the second period, a powerplay goal from Dylan Birnie gave Notre Dame a lifeline, with Drew Patterson scoring less than two minutes after Birnie鈥檚 goal to get back within one. The third period was a thrilling back-and-forth, with William Clarke scoring first to bring the Hounds back to tied before Tony Han scored for North Shore and made it 4-3 Warriors. Clarke responded with his second equalizer of the third period, and the game marched toward its close still tied. Mattias Gallina鈥檚 powerplay goal with 3:05 to play gave North Shore a lead they鈥檇 this time refuse to relinquish, and Cohen Waite finished his hat-trick into the empty net to seal a 6-4 win for the North Shore Warriors.

Ontario Hockey Academy (1) vs Selwyn House School East (2) U17

Selwyn House School鈥檚 U17 team played a near-perfect month of January, with their lone blemish a 4-1 loss to Bishop鈥檚 College School. Conversely, Ontario Hockey Academy came in looking to improve, with their 2025 calendar year being largely disappointing thus far, having won just once, a stat they鈥檇 be eager to change. In the effort to that end, OHA hit the front with just over seven minutes gone, thanks to Yota Matsumura, giving Ontario Hockey Academy a lead they鈥檇 hold well into the second period. Eventually, Selwyn found their tying goal, thanks in part to a wonderful cross-ice feed from Lucas Tzaferis that was deposited by Gianluca Velenosi. The game remained tied for the bulk of the third, with goaltenders Mathis Bernier for OHA and Luca Ottoni for Selwyn each refusing to be one-upped by the other, before Tommy Nicolopoulos went off for slashing. The powerplay for OHA was their first in the game since the first half of the second period, with four straight Selwyn powerplays all killed off by the Ontario Hockey Academy side that saw this as their opportunity to take the lead back. Jackson Pitfeld, however, had other ideas, scoring on a shorthanded breakaway to give Selwyn a 2-1 lead. Ottoni stood tall to close things out, earning his team another win, and downing an OHA team that is still on the hunt for their second CSSHL victory of the calendar year.聽

South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Notre Dame (1) U17 Prep

The only previous matchup between Notre Dame U17 Prep and the South Alberta Hockey Academy U17 Prep this season so far was one of the most memorable games the CSSHL has seen so far; the Notre Dame Hounds roared out of the gate, scoring four before the midway point to at one point lead 4-0 with seven and a half minutes left in the second. SAHA took control from there, scoring six unanswered to win 6-4. SAHA started the game determined to not give Notre Dame an inch, let alone such a large lead, throwing 31 first-period shots on Clay Harmon鈥檚 goal. They scored twice through Ryker Klassen and Karter Kurpjuweit to take a 2-0 lead into the break and would make it 3-0 through forty minutes thanks to Dalin Nixon scoring the only goal of the middle frame. Brennan Finke and Noah Alexander extended the SAHA lead in the third, with Khalen Menger鈥檚 powerplay goal for Notre Dame a mere consolation in a game that saw SAHA hit Notre Dame鈥檚 net with 69 shots in the 5-1 win.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U18 Prep

Calgary International Hockey Academy鈥檚 weekend trip to Manitoba kicked off against RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg on Saturday, a squad flying high after their win over Edge School鈥檚 U18 Prep team on Friday night. However, Saturday marked a third consecutive day with a game for RHA Winnipeg, and it looked evident early that of the two sides, CIHA was the one with the fresh legs. Their control over the first period earned them the game鈥檚 first goal, with Zee Jamal notching the only score of the first period. Scott Sandilands took a mere 66 seconds of the second period to double the CIHA lead, a lead ultimately short-lived thanks to a Max Dowse equalizer just 31 seconds later. RHA grew into the game as things went on, but couldn鈥檛 find a way to beat Sartaj Dhami, who was rewarded by his team for his efforts early in the third period. Cage Smith scored 3:14 in to make it 3-1, and while Ben Dnes would pull his team back within one again, RHA Winnipeg couldn鈥檛 find a tying goal, and Townes Kozicky鈥檚 empty-netter sealed the 4-2 victory in favour of CIHA.

Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green Female (6) U18 Prep

Molly Cole (2G, 1A) and London McDavid (2G) led the way for Delta Hockey Academy Green in a 6-3 victory over Shawnigan Lake School. The two squads traded punches in the first with Taya Lonsdale giving Shawnigan an early advantage before Cole scored for Delta Green to knot the game up 1-1. Delta Green pulled away in the second with goals from McDavid, Avery Wilson, Madison Batch, and Cole. Leah Hill (2G, 1A) potted two goals in the third for Shawnigan Lake but it wouldn鈥檛 be enough with McDavid getting her second of the game for Delta Green to seal it. Maisie Cope made 33 saves in Delta Green鈥檚 victory. Alix Walchuk kicked out 42 shots for Shawnigan Lake in a losing effort.聽

Edge School (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U15 Prep

No love was lost in the Battle of Alberta in Saturday鈥檚 Featured Contest between Edge School and the Northern Alberta Xtreme. NAX would get the early jump on Edge after Kalen Miles (4G) jammed home a loose puck in front for the go ahead lead. Edge would respond soon after with a powerplay marker of their own courtesy of Drew Wilkinson. NAX would restore their lead a couple minutes later after Riley Brown (1G, 2A) wired home his 16th of the campaign. NAX would catch a heater to start the second, scoring three unanswered goals in a span of two minutes. Miles would net two of the three, completing his hat-trick. Tensions would begin to flare up before the ice clean and the sparks would continue to fly in the third. Miles would bury his fourth of the afternoon to ignite the scoring in the third while Remy Koch (1G, 1A) would get one back for Edge in the late stages. Karter Gibson (19/21) made 19-saves to pick up the win between the pipes while Kaidyn Thomas (36/43) made 36-saves in the loss.

St. Mary’s Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Female (1) U18 Prep

Brooke Froese鈥檚 (2G, 1A) three-point game helped St. Mary鈥檚 Academy take down Pilot Mound Hockey Academy 4-1. St. Mary鈥檚 offensive attack was going strong in the first, scoring three times including two markers from Froese and a goal from Jade Pelland. Jakiah Curle gave St. Mary鈥檚 their biggest lead of the game with an early second period goal. A few minutes later, Jayden Quinn got Pilot Mound on the board. Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine shut down the Buffaloes from there, turning aside 25 of 26 shots in St. Mary鈥檚 victory. Sutter Reeves was perfect in relief for Pilot Mound, stopping all 20 shots she faced.聽

Delta Hockey Academy Black (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U15

Brayden Allen 16-save performance backed Delta Hockey Academy Black to a 6-1 win over Prairie Hockey Academy. After a scoreless first period, Delta’s offense exploded with four goals from Bentley Gillis, Silas Colina (2G/1A), Jesse Parmar, and Manav Kalia (1G, 1A). Delta continued to pour it on in the third. First, it was Colina getting his second of the game and then Taegon Park added another to reach the 20-goal mark on the season. Prairie Hockey Academy鈥檚 Kaleb Crowe spoiled Allen鈥檚 shutout bid by scoring with just over six minutes to go.聽

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep

Tony Cabelka scored in the final minutes of the frame to send Yale to the dressing with a two goal lead. Massey continued his big day with a goal in the second and a powerplay marker in third to record his first career hat-trick in the CSSHL. A couple minutes later, RHA Kelowna鈥檚 Mason Poitras scored to cut the deficit down to 4-1. Yale would run away with it after that getting goals from Yianni Sergiannidis, Alex Li, and Massey. Alexandre Jacques and Jayden Oleskiw (2G) pushed out a 2-0 lead with first period goals. Shaun Hildebrandt (1G, 2A) extended the lead with a powerplay marker in the second. Ryker Swanson (1G, 1A), Carter Bylycia, Oleskiw, and Theron Bensler (1G, 2A) bulged the twine in the final frame to put the game out of reach. Will Stonehouse turned aside 33 shots for Shawnigan Lake in a losing effort.聽

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) U17 Prep

Knox Burton鈥檚 (2G, 2A) four-point game helped RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg score a big 8-1 win over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy. Barrett Hayes was under siege for much of the first period but stood tall, stopping 20 of 21 shots. RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 Gavin Quennelle scored to put the lone blemish on Hayes鈥 record in the opening frame. The pressure proved to be too much in the second with Spencer Kuntz and Brady Keith to make it a three-goal bulge before Burton tallied a pair of goals late in the frame to make it 5-0. Isaac Sousa, Peyton Thiessen, and Wyatt Jones rounded out the goal scoring for RHA Winnipeg in the third. Kolton Bigras potted Pilot Mound鈥檚 only goal of the contest midway through the third. Brady Robert made 24 saves in RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 victory. Hayes was busy all game long, stopping 49 shots in Pilot Mound鈥檚 loss.聽

Peyton May scored the shootout winner to propel Delta Hockey Academy to a 2-1 victory over Okanagan Hockey Academy. OHA controlled the play through the first two periods, doubling up Delta in the shot department. Neither team could find their way past the opposing netminder with Delta鈥檚 Lynden Mercier making 22 saves and OHA鈥檚 Alex Youngson stopping all 11 shots he faced through two. Delta would break the deadlock 24 seconds into the third on a powerplay goal from Lincoln Arkinstall. The seconds were winding down and Mercier was nearing a shutout for Delta but OHA鈥檚 had other ideas scoring with 41 seconds to play. After a scoreless overtime, the two teams headed to a shootout. Christian Sum (Delta) and Jaxson Bartsch (OHA) traded goals in the opening round. The goalies took over after that, stopping six straight shooters. May came up clutch in the fifth round for Delta with Mercier stopping the final shooter to seal the win. Mercier made 31 saves in Delta鈥檚 victory. North Shore Warriors (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

Georgi Milanov’s 42-save effort lifted the North Shore Warriors to a 2-1 victory over Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. It didn鈥檛 take long for the offence to start with Dominic Seminoff putting North Shore up 1-0 with a goal exactly a minute into the game. Later in the period, Liam McCloy doubled North Shore鈥檚 lead with his first goal since January 18th. Milanov carried his shutout bid into the third period but PCHA鈥檚 Brayden Barker broke through four minutes in. PCHA applied heavy pressure in the third outshooting North Shore 19-4. That wouldn鈥檛 phase Milanov who turned aside 18 shots in third to preserve the win. Liam Russell played a strong game for Pacific Coast, stopping 24 of the 26 shots he faced.聽

Edge School (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U17 Prep

Reeve Waugh got Edge out to a fast start, scoring 24 seconds in to give them an early advantage. NAX responded with a pair of goals in the second. Halliday tied the game just over a minute into the frame with Rylan Poitras giving Xtreme the lead. That would be short-lived with Edge鈥檚 Kyle Oakenfold (1G, 1A) evening the score with a powerplay marker. The teams were all square heading into the third but then NAX鈥檚 Emmett Jones struck on the powerplay for the game-winning goal. Denis would put the game away with an empty-netter in the dying seconds. Both goalies played strong games. Cam Hoose made 30 saves for NAX with Carsten Leyerzapf stopping 43 shots.聽聽

Josh Harvey, Aiden Christie (1G, 1A), Shea Streu, and Eli Wasylyk scored to tie the game up 7:27 into the third. OHA wasn鈥檛 satisfied with their two goal lead, pushing hard for more. They got what they were looking for with Marcus Domhof and Landon Nagle scoring a pair of third period goals to seal the win. STAR Hockey Academy (5) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U15

They would take the lead before the buzzer sounded for the first period, then go on to add an extra two powerplay markers in the second period. PCHA would show some character in the third and rally back from their three goal deficit to tie it. Brayden Lindsay (1G, 2A) would unload a heavy wrister from the point to tie things up with less than eight minutes to go. Shortly after, STAR would find some fortune on a loose puck behind the net, allowing Mason Olson (2G) to slide home the eventual game winner.聽

Yale Hockey Academy (4) vs St. George’s School (1) U17 Prep

Yale would apply loads of pressure in the opening frame, outshooting St. George鈥檚 a staggering 19-7, but would only find their first goal with 9-seconds left on the clock as Lucas Fenrich (1G, 2A) let go a sizzling wrister from the right boards. Yale would find more consistency in the second as Seth Castronuovo (2G) and Gavin Bradley extended the Lion鈥檚 lead to three. Byron Chin would get the Saints on the board with a late goal of their own, wiring home a wicked wrister from the slot with 5-seconds remaining in the second. St. George鈥檚 looked to make things interesting in the third, but couldn鈥檛 get anything going in the final frame. Castronuovo would add the empty netter for his 80th career CSSHL goal, ensuring the Yale victory.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) U15 Prep

Teams would trade goals back-and-forth for the first period. Shawnigan鈥檚 Darwin Ketch (1G, 1A) would have the last laugh before the buzzer, tying things up with a heat seeking wrister from the top of the slot. The second would fall in favour of PCHA as Trent Porter (2G) and Jackson Squire would score two goals late in the frame to establish a two goal advantage. Come the second, STAR would build off of what they started late in the first, scoring three unanswered to build a 4-2 lead heading late into the frame. Kenzo Gibson (2G) gave BWC Academy some life with another shorthanded goal off a takeaway in the defensive end. Dylan Gale would revive STAR鈥檚 two goal lead early in the third, but BWC Academy remained persistent, scoring two in quick succession to make this game even once again.
